List of Benjamin D. Rubin's Reviews
An exceptional doctor, with a humble and kind manner.
I’ve known Dr. Rubin professionally for over 30 years now. I have sent him literally hundreds of patients over the years. Why do I send them to Dr. Rubin? Quite simply, Dr. Rubin gets the best outcomes with my knee and shoulder patients. In addition, Dr. Rubin genuinely cares for his patients. He takes the time to explain everything to the patient so they feel comfortable with the procedure. Very unfortunately, my own son who is a football player had to have surgery on his kneee and also his shoulder. I could’ve sent him anywhere. I have an excellent relationship with a dozen surgeons that are all excellent and extremely qualified. I picked Dr. Ben Rubin to take care of my son.
Dr. Rubin was not easy to talk to. He did not answer my questions about the surgery he was proposing and in fact, belittled them. This made it hard to ask further questions given his arrogant approach of communicating. From my visit, I found him to be rude and lacking in bedside manners. I wont be having my surgery with him, but with another surgeon instead.
Dr. Ruben repaired my very bad shoulder twice. 25 years between operations. He's an exceptional surgeon. I play hard and he put me back in the water and on the mountain. His rehabilitation program is apparently exactly what I needed. TWICE IN 25 YEARS. I was 63 the second time he fixed it. All kinds shreaded meat and I'm 100% since finishing his program while in the very good hands of Loren Caroll PT. Nothing but good to say about Dr. Rubin and Loren Carroll PT.
We traveled 500 miles to get to Dr. Rubin based on recommendation from our local ortho. Convinced over phone and email that he was the man for the job. Amazed at the treatment that my son (labrum and rotator cuff surgery) and our family received from these folks. Staff was incredible, accommodating & professional. But most importantly, Dr. Rubin was awesome from start to finish --answering all of our questions, confirming diagnosis, etc. -- and he fixed my boy! The kid (college-aged) was back to his studly ways in just a few months and is now stronger than ever. Credit also due to great post-surgery PT in our home town.
I can highly recommend Dr. Rubin. He is simply amazing. Not only is he a proficient surgeon, he is kind, caring and patient. Our daughter snapped her ACL. He treated her with respect and kindness. His entire staff is wonderful. Ruth is so sweet and patient, and Stacy the PA is also wonderful. They make you feel comfortable and welcome to call anytime. The surgery center was also impressive... the nursing staff was so caring and they helped calm all of our nerves. Even the anesthesiologist was fantastic and caring...as hard as surgery is for anyone... we highly recommend Dr. Rubin.
I am so disappointed in this doctor. I had to reschedule once and then another time due to a family emergency with my daughter. I called and told them that my I needed to go pick up my daughter, due to a school lock-down situation. They said by all means go, and said they understood and to call when I get back and they would fit me in. I called back and they said they don't think I am an appropriate patient for them. I have never been treated this way by a doctor. I believe a doctor's job is to help people/patients. What poor patient treatment by his staff. Life happens, and I can't get over how short sided they were and how they told me they would accomodate me and then not. But I guess they wanted me to choose to let my daughter stay at school when things are "hot and dangerous" with a suspect on the loose. UNREAL!
I went in with a shoulder injury fully expecting to be told I need surgery. He performed a very insightful examination and evaluation of the MRI etc and recommended specific treatment by a chiropractor. This ahs been a lingering problem for me and I appreciated his competence, candor and honesty.
Excellent at diagnosing the shoulder problem I had. He could have recommended surgery and I'd probably have gone for it but he didn't. He prescribed a far less invasive treatment involving a chiropractor He took the time to walk me through the MRI images and explained what we were looking at and what the root cause issues were. Excellent at setting a follow up plan. Very impressed
Lots of easy parking, really nice staff/assistants and they seem to try and keep things moving very quickly. I was in and out of there fast. I think they actually called me back even before my appointment time despite the waiting room being pretty full. Things are managed really well here. Dr Rubin is the very best. He listens, he asks lots of questions and he truly cares. I am so grateful for his diagnosis and plan to treat. I regret not going to him earlier. Would 100% recommend him to anybody in need of orthopedic care. So appreciative!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
