Dr. Imagawa is one of the best doctors I've ever known. He is direct to the point and doesn't beat around the bush. If your under his care he'll do anything possible to save your life, thank you Dr. Imagawa for all you have done for me. Top Gun Dr..
I’m very disappointed in this office which makes the doctor look bad! They make sure to collect the co-pay and also remind you when they do a reminder call, yet they sneak in hidden fees. We got charged $140 for a “clinic” visit which they explain is a “usage fee” for the office! So basically that is fraud and we as the patients are paying the rent for the office. I will never go back!

I sent my sister in law to Dr. Imagawa for a second opinion on her pancreatic cancer. The doctors at City of Hope have been amazing and live up to their name. The number one thing I hear from survivors of this horrible cancer is that against all odds they are given hope to fight and told that many people survive this disease. I wish i had not sent her to Dr Imagawa. All the hard work to get her and my brother fired up to fight this disease was sucked out by one meeting with this man. We had been sent to them because we heard that his practice was involved in clinical trials. Many people have been told that they have no hope and they survive. To take this hope away from a patient who's tumor has shrunk is disgusting.
This Doctor is a Miracle Doctor !!! When You or a Love One are told you have 1 month to Live due to Pancreatic Cancer that has Spread ... STAY CALM DON'T WORRY ✋ THIS MAN DR.DAVID IMAGAWA WILL FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE TAKING CHANCES AND HE DOESN'T FEAR CANCER !!! I gotta tells the Stories because I have No idea How Come there is No Reviews but One . 2yrs ago I met a Person at Ross she was an associate working the fitting room, as I go early morning to try on Clothes she always greets me with a smile. She's so cute because she is missing a few teeth and she's elderly but always happy ☺. I told her I missed her the other day and she told me she had a Doctor appt. She told me 7 yrs ago at Kaiser hosp she was told she Only had 3 months to Live due to Pancreatic Cancer and due to her age Chemo was not recommended. She went for 2nd Opinions and seeked more opinions out of pocket $$$.SHE WAS TOLD ABOUT THIS DOCTOR DAVID IMAGAWA THAT HE IS A PROFESSOR AND IS VERY TALENTED IN SURGERIES AND CANCER. HE SAVED HER AND NOW 7YRS LATER SHE IS WORKING HARD AND ENJOYING HER LIFE LIKE SHE NEVER DID ☺.She says she goes to her general doctor for check ups regularly. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY PERSON I RAN INTO ABOUT THIS DR. SO onJuly 10th 2019 🎆🎉 I was at home suffering from my esophagus because water and food always gets stuck in my throat and chest plus I can eat at 1pm and be the Last small soup meal and boom I go to sleep and Up goes my liquids grrr 😬😢 I tried over the Counter acid reflux meds but they mess with my brain 😁 I took sum chewy ones and I woke up 2 hrs Later and forgot I had kids 😬 and I have 4. Anyways they are adults now except for One. Anyhow like I said on July 10th 2019 I was at home and ate a lil cereal Cheerios the Oragnic One's from Barbara's(sold at Sprouts) and boom they got stuck with One spoon and I tried to drink a Lil water and I felt as I was drowning. The more I tried to ignore it and stay Calm the more I couldnt breath. So I told my Older son to go with me to UCI trauma hosp in Orange because I felt I couldn't breath. I got in my truck and put my seat-belt and Holy Moly I felt like I was going to pass out as I was driving. Suddenly my thumbs and hands started to curve inwards like a spasm and my hands began to get numb. I pulled to the side of the busy street and my son called 911 Paramedics took me to UCI hospital they said I was breathing to fast that I caused myself a Panic Attack. I was placed in a big room with many chairs with patients. We all hear what everyone has and it actually felt like family yes I know it should be Confidential but it actually was Nice. So I was hooked up to IV and a gentleman across from me said he's Pancreas was acting Up because he went on Vacation to Mexico and had 2 beers, and he only was left with a Small piece due to Pancreatic Cancer Stage 4 that spread to the gall bladder etc. Well doctor comes and tells him that there was inflammation of his small Pancreas and that he needs to be admitted to treat it and that he shouldn't be drinking. The man told us that he went to 3 different Cancer Doctors and was told he Only had 1 month to Live . He said he was terrified and devastated. A doctor told him about Dr.Imagawa and he handles severe cases and that he is really Not a Cancer doctor but does Surgeries to remove Cancer on Pancreas. So he went and almost 6yrs Later now he's been Cancer free !!! 🙏 But he said the doctor left him a piece of pancreas because of a Method he knows about and It worked !!!! So if I ended in a Ambulance and in an E.R and hearing about this doctor again it MUST BE FOR A REASON !!! TO TELL SOMEONE WHO MIGHT BE LOST RIGHT NOW IN A WORLD OF DARKNESS ABOUT THERE PANCREAS THAT THIS DOCTOR HAS GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE TO MANY . 🙏👊💨👌
I will not be here . Amazing doctor

Dr Imagawa is an incredible surgeon. He literally saved my life. He is a very deep thinker, so don’t expect wonderful bedside manner, he is concentrating on the surgical procedure and your organs and that’s fine with me, I can talk to the nurses for fun.
I just had my 4 yrs anniversary of having the whipple procedure done by Dr. Imagawa and I am doing great with no sign of any active or new disease present .I had a few glitches along the way but nothing major and I always felt Dr Imagawa and his staff had my back. He is my hero
I would have to concur of a poor review. Rude staff, we waited over 2 months for biopsy of our dad. After 2 months, after finally getting another appointment, they only wanted another “consult”. Dr. is full of himself, staff as mentioned is rude. At the consult visit our question was going to be let’s cut to the chase. You are just delaying any procedure to let our dad die. We knew he didn’t have long, he just wanted answers. Weell Dr and staffs strategy of delay worked. Our father passed away.

Very knowledgeable and amazing at what he does. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to operate on me!

He is a magnificent surgeon. He is responsible, dedicated, caring, and very knowledgeable. Yes, he hardly communicates and builds rapport, but without a doubt you will fall in love with his motivating character which pushes you through the recovery phase. He is an amazing surgeon who has committed his life to saving lives. Our family loves and appreciates him wholeheartedly.

Doctor David Imagawa is an extraordinary surgeon. He operated on my father, 75yo. My beloved father had an incidental finding of pancreatic IPMN, which was apparently growing and had to be removed. The operation (Whipple Surgery) took more or less 10 very long hours. I cant tell you how difficult it was to wait with fear of losing him. When Dr. Imagawa came out of the surgery room, he looked exhausted and no very happy. He told us, it would take a miracle for my father to remain after 10 days, as there were complications he ran across. Well, my father survived the dreadful recovery stage and in the meantime the pathology report come back; first stage adenocarcinoma limited, which the doctor had thoroughly removed. To cut the long story short, my father was hospitalized for approximately 3 weeks, and aside from the superb nurses, caseworkers, residents, and fellows that he has on his team, he would daily check on my father, and with the little amount of communication that he has, his character uplifted and motivated my dad to overcome the recovery barriers one after another. Yes, Dr. Imagawa is very conservative and reserved, no, he will not communicate the way you might want, but he is absolutely SUPERB! He is gentle, respectful, kind, and very supportive of his patients. He is a remarkable surgeon. My beloved father, my hero, my teacher, passed away a several months after the surgery, not because of the surgery, which was magnificent, not because of the recovery, which took 2 months, but because of PULMONARY TOXICITY to GEMCITABINE ( chemotherapy medication). Although, this side effect is extremely rare, there are cases that have been reported. If you are undergoing chemotherapy with Gemcitabine, whether you have high temperature or not, make sure you LOG your temperature in the mornings, afternoons, and especially ***EVENINGS***. If you notice high temperatures 99.6 above, be concerned, you might be affected and the oncologist must become aware, although its rare. My father experienced high temperatures 99.6, 98.8 after his first infusion, he was misdiagnosed for pneumonia, he was given antibiotics, the fever went away, they continued with the second infusion, and the third as scheduled. After the third infusion, my fathers lungs were reacting and not working properly, his fever was 100.8F, he didnt complain of symptoms, I discovered it because I took his vital signs. They still could not pinpoint the problem, because all the culture tests were resulting Negative. They suspected this, once he entered the ICU. If my father would not have reacted to Gemcitabine, I am certain, by January of 2018, as we had planned, he would be in dear Dr. Imagawas office, squeezing him with all his love for everything he did. Dr. Imagawa is amongst the top surgeons of USA who performs the most complicated Whipple surgeries. November, is PANCREATIC CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. I love you dad and I will always live with the dreadful agony of losing you so soon.

Can't recommend him, he performed surgery on my wife and did not provide a realistic picture of the path tor recovery and sadly she's gone now.
Absolutely amazing. Thorough and professional. We trust him every step of the way.
