Read all the negative reviews . They are true . Don’t know why she’s a endocrinologist ! She will randomly just choose a number to prescribe you meds on the milligram dosage that do not make sense at all . She may over or under prescribe you . She’s pretty horrible if you care for your thyroid don’t come here ! Her office staff including her are super incompetent .they don’t keep appts and the office looks like some 1970s trash
Terrible doctor does not care about the well-being of the patients under her care
Terrible doctor does not care about the well-being of the patients under her care
Terrible experience under her care
Not sure for all the positive reviews could be her staff. This doctor does not know how to prescribe meds. She will choose random numbers to give you meds and does not how to check your thyroid numbers to make you functional . Shes pretty horrible . Bad manners in scaring you with your health , dont know how she became a endo. Dont go here she will misdiagnose you . Dont let her touch your thyroid you will be feeling off worse
What an amazing experience! Dr.Madu and her staff were very freindly. Dr .Madu was very thorough and asked me many questions to make sure I got the right medical attention I needed. Never had a Doctor make me feel so comfortable. She definitely help me adjust my medication and now Ive been doing so much better. I highly highly recommend this practice to anyone who wants a Honest Dr.
I have been seeing Dr. Madu for several years now. She always listens to your concerns. She evaluates your situation, then provides the therapy that fits you. As I am moving out of state, I am going to miss her care. I only hope I find someone at her level of expertise at my new location.
She is pretty horrible, dont know how she can actually be labeled as an endo. If you are reading this run away lol.... she randomly chooses a number to adjust your meds which does not make sense. When you need a higher dose she will lower it, when you need it to be lowered she chooses a random number. She said very rude things that will scare your well being which is not cool at all. Does not call you back when you have urgent question. Office looks like 1970s office. HORRIBLE! I dont get her positive reviews , the ones thats really negative is TRUE. where the hell did she get her degree from. one of worst endos
I had an appointment 7 months ago Dr. Madu never called me, never sent me my paperwork for my blood work, she only gave me 6 refills and that's it. Nobody never called me from her office to reschedule my appointment, Im changing endocronologist, bad service she nor her nurses care about her patients
Dr. Madu has been my doctor for 13 years. I went to her after Thyroid cancer surgery at the urging of my surgeon. My original endocrinologist didnt want me to have I131 (radiation) after my thyroid cancer surgery because 97% of people with your kind of cancer live. Well, what if I was in the 3% who DONT? He simply refused to give me I131, and I was terrified.Dr. Madu immediately ordered I131 therapy for me and I have been with her ever sinceeven though I now live 40 miles away. She is not only a great endocrinologist, but she is one of the kindest people Ive ever met. You can tell when she urges you to do something that she actually CARES about your well being. Even though I live some distance away, I will keep Dr. Madu as my endocrinologistits hard to find doctors who actually care. I would urge anyone in OC who needs an endocrinologist to choose Dr. Madu.
Dr. Madu is a great endocrinologist, and an incredibly kind person. She is very invested in giving the best care possible, and gently chiding you when youre off track. Im very grateful I found her, after my first, awful experience with an endocrinologist when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2007. Even though Ive moved 40 miles away, I will continue to see her.
I have been a patient of Dr. Madus since 2007. Shes a great doctor, and extremely kind. I wouldnt have another endocrinologist. I would give her 10 stars if I could. Through the years, there have been bumps in the road with staff, but that seems to be solved now, and she was on time to the minute for our last visit.

I am a 4th year medical student that rotated in Dr. Madus office for several months. During my rotation, I clearly saw that Dr. Madu had a great relationship with her patients and staff. Dr. Madu is very kind and truly cares about her patients. She takes the time to listen to their needs and treat each patient with their best interest at heart.

Good visit today :) Left the appointment feeling encouraged. She listened and explained things well. I've been seeing Dr Madu for about a year now for thyroid issues.
I was prescribed liothyronine 5mcg and advised me to take it along with my 88mcg of Levothyroxine that’d I’d already been taking before seeing her, and it’s ruined my life... I have been experiencing the worst panic attacks ever from this medication. And she has the nerve to tell me perhaps this issue with anxiety has already been there. Lady!!! I was fine until I trusted that the medication you gave me would make me better. And now it’s hard to function!I just want to be well! I had to see another endocrinologist for further testing.
My experience with this office began with two calls not returned to schedule appointments and then the office staff speaking to me like I was a three year old. Even after that it took another week to get a call back to schedule an appointment - seven weeks away. When I arrived, every seat in the waiting room was full (like 7 patients waiting). So that means my 4:15 appointment time doesn't mean a thing to this doctor. I get it, doctors are busy but to overbook patients when you have a new patient who waited two months for an appointment is unacceptable. To not call the new patient and explain that there will be a significant wait is unacceptable. At 4:23, the receptionist (who was kind but was overwhelmed as she was completely by herself and was swamped) took my paperwork and collected my copayment. At 4:40 I was called back. They took my weight, height, and blood pressure. I was put into a room at 4:44. Dr. Madu entered at 4:55 PM.I started by clearing the air with Dr. Madu - I explained that I have had cancer twice and that my relationships with my physicians are important to me. She apologized and said that I should only speak with her office manager in the future.I was given scrips for testing (lots of testing) and I went and had that done. I'll not bore you with all of the details but I will say that I did call and ask if Dr. Madu could let me know some details about a particular test - I was informed she "doesn't call patients." I went ahead and scheduled the test for two weeks out - and had it done.Literally, the day I had the blood drawn she called me at 7:45 pm to let me know I should do the test earlier in the day (I explained that I had left the message two weeks prior and that I had done the test and the timing and she said it would be ok). When I explained that I was anxious about biopsy results (since I have had cancer twice) and how I was surprised to learn that she "doesn't call patients" she replied, "I have to have a life. I have three kids. I have to go to Costco and run errands. I called you about your blood test and now you are asking me another question." I said that I was sorry to have bothered her and that I'd see her on October 10th. I think she may have felt bad because she did call me back about 45 minutes later and said that she had logged in and was able to see that my biopsy was negative (no cancer, yay!) This is the only reason I am giving her 1 star... despite the earlier call she did the right thing and checked my biopsy results and called me to let me know.My appointment for follow up to review numerous test results was scheduled for today (10/10) at 4:15 pm - there was an accident near my work. When I realized I was going to be 20-25 minutes late I called. I was told that they only see patients if they arrive within 10 minutes of the appointment time. I explained that I had waited a long time at my first appointment and that I showed grace - could they please extend the same grace to me? After being placed on hold for several minutes I was told no - that they would need to reschedule me for the end of November (more than 7 weeks from today). So, my bad for being late but 7 weeks with NO results because she doesn't call patients - not ok.I told them to package all of my results up and send them to my PCP and that I would not be back to her office. I have filed a formal complaint with St. Josephs Hospital Affiliated Physicians and requested a referral to another endocrinologist. In good conscience, I cannot recommend this doctor to anyone who requires healthcare.
