List of Ivy Joan Madu's Reviews
terrible experience. After driving 25 minutes out here, looking for parking, and walking all the way over to their office, 10 minutes before my appointment when I was there they call me and they say they need to reschedule!
This doctor is a joke. She should not be seeing patients. My mother had gotten a phone call from her office stating they had to reschedule, but when she arrived, they said they forgot to tell her it was a virtual visit and she was too busy to see her in person and to reschedule. First off, that doesn't make sense. It takes just as much time to see a person in front of you versus over the internet. Then she called later and acted like she was following up with her, without even apologizing for her mistakes. Please go elsewhere if you are concerned about your health. All the negative reviews are correct on here.
Horrible Dr. Was not caring at all. Made me feel horrible about missing a thyroid lab appt while pregnant.. I missed because I had preterm labor and was hospitalized with an emergency Cerclage. I called the office and explained that I couldn't get the lab in time for the Dr appt. They still wanted me to come in and the Dr made a comment "you don't want a retarded baby do you" Not something you should say to a pregnant mother. It haunted me my whole pregnancy. My daughter is happy and healthy child.
Absolutely terrible experience. After driving 30 minutes out here, battling for parking, and walking all the way over to their office; the Doctor refused to see me because I was 10 minutes late & they needed to go to lunch within the next 30mins. (They shouldn't be booking new patient appts before lunch, if they can't honor a grace period.) But okay, fine. I accepted it & let them rebook me.We had a family emergency today, and I had to rebook again. I called before my appointment time, and they told me the Doctor won't work with me because I've canceled appointments twice... I was never informed of this "rule", I wasn't a "no-show", and I am absolutely disgusted by this behavior. I made this appointment as a follow-up after an ER visit. I understand the inconvenience it causes when a patient cancels, but wow. To turn away someone in dire need of treatment over something out of my control. In the end I'm grateful, I would hate to have spent a dime at this office, only to find out later down the line that their patients are disposable to them & they have no empathy for the sick. Who would want to have that kind of doctor responsible for their healing & an invasive surgery anyways?

I'm a new patient, and was referred by my gyno. Honestly I was a bit scared because of the reviews. But my experience was so different. I thought she was very sweet and caring, and I understood everything she was saying. There's also a medical student assisting her, he's very smart and kind too. Whole experience so far has been very good 🌱
Dr. Madu's ego results in her failure to listen to her patients! I have Grave's disease and had RAI treatment, resulting in hypothyroidism. I wasn't feeling well even though my TSH levels were within normal limits. I was exhausted, cold, nauseous and had very little appetite. I expressed that I was sure it was my thyroid, but Dr. Madu refused to believe me. After 6 months of suffering I raised my synthroid dose on my own, & within weeks was feeling myself again. I changed to another endocrinologist who explained to me I was on the higher levels of normal & this is quite common. My current doctor evaluates both my labs & symptoms... and most importantly listens to me, the patient!
Read all the negative reviews . They are true . Don’t know why she’s a endocrinologist ! She will randomly just choose a number to prescribe you meds on the milligram dosage that do not make sense at all . She may over or under prescribe you . She’s pretty horrible if you care for your thyroid don’t come here ! Her office staff including her are super incompetent .they don’t keep appts and the office looks like some 1970s trash
Terrible doctor does not care about the well-being of the patients under her care
I don't recommend this doctor. I waited for about 2 hours to get into her room. They didn't get my documents from my primary doctor until I got there, although they had about two months time before my appointment day comes. It was interesting that doctor asked me if I want to take biopsy. She didn't give me her opinion which is best for me just ask me what I want to do. The only thing that she said certainly was you don't have cancer which I didn't think of that before I met her. She could say positive things.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
