La Veta Surgery Center's Online Review Report Card

Honestly would not recommend this facility to anyone. I was scheduled to have a surgery here, they admitted me and after waiting in the bed for 3 hours and IV connected to me they came and told me sorry your Surgery needs to be canceled due to not having my valve and other items not delivered to them!!??? REALLY??? Are you KIDDING ME??? you guys didn’t know till the last minute? The day of the surgery and after 3 hours waiting!!!???NOT RECOMMEND DONT ISE THIS FACILITY

My daughter was scheduled for her second surgery for a Cochlear Implant to restore her hearing that she lost 2 years ago due to Chemotherapy damage she received when she had cancer as a child. The first surgery went well in March 2021 (performed at La Veta Surgery Center) but because she had damage in the inner ear, the surgeon corrected the damage and prepped for the implant for the future. After she healed we were scheduled to return in November 2021 to put in the implant. However we were notified this week that La Veta Surgery Center decided that her medi-cal insurance rate is no longer profitable for them (wasn't a problem in March), and has now cancelled her surgery 7 weeks away from surgery. They told us to go elsewhere and since the surgeon is only contracted at that surgical center, we have to find a new doctor/surgeon and start over after 2 years of a long and arduous journey to restore her hearing. This is totally sickening how profits are more important than a 36 year old's young woman's ability to hear. Basically, just go on being deaf for the rest of your life, we don't care because you don't make us enough money. Just know that is just what you are getting when you go to La Veta Surgical Center. Thanks Mary Powell and La Veta Surgery Center! My daughter's quality of life and ability to hear means more that a "high negative contract rate", and it's a shame you people don't know that. You sure know how to take the "care" out of health care! Great example as to why we need to change this country's profit driven health non-care system!

The anesthesiologist, surgeon, and nurses were all wonderful. This low rating is for the billing department/front desk. I had to pay upfront for the entire surgery cost on the day of the procedure, which I felt was strange because they hadn't even billed insurance yet, so they didn't have an idea of the accurate billing cost. Well after confirming with my insurance, La Veta blatantly overcharged me on facility charges, yet never reached out once to issue a refund this entire year. It has been over 9 months since my visit, and my account is still somehow "flagged for refund review". If I hadn't reached out to their billing department and finally inquired, I am confident they would have never bothered to go through with the refund process. Still waiting on a sizeable refund to be processed. I won't be back to this facility because I feel like they willingly took advantage of the ambiguous billing process for their own financial gain. Dr. Singh was amazing though.

Very unprofessional! I called with a question the day before my procedure and they were so rude. The day of, they herded everyone in like cattle and they have what resembles an assembly line. You get a different nurse at each station and Dr Lee just rushes in quickly to speak with you. Never again!

Dr. Stanton is wonderful. He has been sticking scopes of various kinds into me for almost twenty years. Before the first time, when my primary care doctor told me I needed the exams, I was intimidated and embarrassed at the thought. But Dr. Stanton is so professional and so warm, and he and his staff make the experience totally comfortable and non intimidating. And it saved my life. Five years ago, an endoscopy revealed that I had a very deadly form of cancer early enough for treatment to save me. Don't delay. Get your scope exams, and get them soon, and see Dr. Stanton.

Just got home from menusectomy and I had a wonderful experience with this facility, from receptionist Joycelyn to pre-op nurses Ashley and Jackie, Anesthesiologist Dr. Lee, OR nurse Liêm and last but not least my Dr. Richard Blanks, recovery nurse Andrew and Madely (hope I had her name right) Y'all rocks, courteous, kind, fun and thank you for helping me.

I had a endoscopy scheduled today with Dr Singh at 9am. My experience was amazing . Jennifer V was my nurse. Her bed side manner was great. She made my experience all better. Love this place. Ps Dr the anesthesiologist and everyone involved were amazing 👏

I wish I could say I was able to experience having my surgery here tomorrow, however after having my pre-op appointment, covid test, filling out all of the paperwork ahead of time, and confirmations FROM the surgery center this morning, a few hours later, the day before my surgery, the 'surgery schedulers' for this location arbitrarily cancelled my surgery without telling me. The amazing, sweet and kind surgery scheduler at my doctor's office (thank you Jenna) had the unfortunate job of explaining to me that the La Veta Surgery Center at the last minute cancelled my surgery stating all of the pre-authorized insurance billing codes were now not allowed. She will find another facility that WILL act with professionalism and class. When I called the La Veta Surgery Center to inquire, they did not skip a beat to throw my doctor's office under the bus stating 'they cancelled the surgery'. They are liars. Thankfully, my doctor is one of the most well known, respected surgeons in OC so I am not worried about getting my surgery done.

They are all really nice and sweet, great hard workers, quick and efficient. Best treatment I’ve had at a medical center.

From Restore Orthopedics I had Rotary Cup Surgery by Dr Navid Ghalambor MD, on 7-29-20. I was so impressed on how well they worked to insure all the Covid Regulations were met. I was stationed in a room where I had a bird’s eye view of everything and everyone. Nurse’s being checked by RN, and even the spelling, grammar were checked. I was impressed that the Surgical Center is partly owned by the Doctors performing surgeries here. It provides them the freedom for staff they choose, equipment, rooms etc. it was like a fine tuned machine performing an executive mission. I love it!
