I appreciate this place with all I have. My daughter was diagnosed with Chronic Asthma when she was two years old. We had been to so many hospitals where she was always provided temporary treatment. As soon as we arrived at the CHOC emergency room, (can’t remember the year, maybe 2017), my daughter was given the best care I had ever experienced in Southern California. I had been to USC Hospital - Los Angeles, St. Jude Hospital - Fullerton, Mercy Hospital - Merced, Children’s Hospital - Fresno, Miller Children’s Hospital - Long Beach, and many more. But when we arrived here they basically told me, “she has been hospitalized too many times, your daughter needs lasting treatment and assistance, we can set her up with a doctor here in our clinics”…. Ever since then my daughter, who is now turning 10, has been in great health because of her doctor at the pulmonary clinic!Glory be to God and I thank her doctor 👩⚕️ (Dr. Patricia Tate) for her immeasurable help and support in my daughters life. For four years she received 6-month check-ups and, every time, her doctor was helpful and understanding. Even when I wasn’t doing what was right as a parent (giving my daughter the prescription doses as often as prescribed), she showed a sincere concern to get us back on track.I would definitely recommend this place to any child who has chronic asthma. I’m not sure if you need to be an extreme case like my daughter was. She was in and out of emergency rooms for 3-4 years before we got referred to the pulmonary clinic.
Worlds slowest ER waits stay far away from this hospitals ER. When my son hit my head this morning and needed stitches didn’t think we would be waiting with no end in sight still 6 hours later. It’s not busy at all so I asked a nurse what was taking so long and she said there was only PA that could help us and he’s been busy all day. Go literally anywhere else. Still waiting..
While this hospital is always a good place to go get a piece of mind for my kids, there are just instances i can’t seem to understand how it happens. The first time I thought it was a mere coincidence but when it happens a 2nd time? hmm. We went for my son and daughter who were very sick at the time, at first they were very concerned for my son (he was more sick then my daughter) they triaged him as high risk, got us in quick, they gave him treatment and all very nice people, but as soon as the shift change happened and a new doc came, the attitudes quickly changed and it was “alright ur good to go! discharged” clearly he was still retracting and just not having it. Okay we trusted them and went home. This recent time again just my son, very hard time breathing again, triaged again high risk. No treatment, just swabs and the doctor talks to me and husband like we were kids and when the new doc came, what happened? “alright ur good!” Get this, the new doc who comes says she’s a supervisor, clearly my son is on the gurney with the gown , yet she checks my daughter?!? who is clearly fine and just being held by my husband. Anyway, my son’s heart rate was super high for being in a resting period but says they’re not concerned even though he was still breathing very hard through his stomach. We go out waiting room is FULL. I was like hm wonder why they wanted us out quick. Makes sense I understand but don’t just push us aside without having done nothing. Better to overreact then under react i guess.
Worst experience everDon’t ever go hereThey will just steal your money and not heal your kid. They just say they got to do this and that and bill you like crazyDon’t go here
I was thoroughly unimpressed by the lack of urgency or care from the emergency room staff. The entire experience was awful. They allowed covid positive patients to sit in the waiting room with no mask. They were incompetent when asked questions. I knew the answer, and specifically asked which thermometer reading was more accurate an auxiliary under the arm or tympanic in the ear, the response I received from the nurse was "oh idk we don't have the ear one here." My sons fever wouldn't break and they wouldn't take me seriously, and did absolutely nothing. Just over all disappointed in the care received here.
Es bueno pero puede mejorar mucho
Had a super scary incident back in October. The nephrology, hematology and oncology specialists were all great. Very supportive, informative and overall had a good experience. We now see the nephrologist and hematologist regularly and never had any issues up until now. We were seen back in March 30th and had a order put in for some lab work for authorization. I figured it would take awhile, April 20th I called and I was told that it was just placed and not yet approved, I asked why it was barley just placed when I was seen a month ago and Ruth in hematology said she doesn’t know that if anything to call the orders department. Beginning of May I call the orders department and speak to Eileen, she says there’s a note on there something about calling family the next business day, she says she has to contact someone to see what this means. I wait a week and no call back. I call again this past Friday and speak to the orders supervisor Marissa. She says she doesn’t know what that note means and it was an error on their end (Keep in mind, she never once even apologized,) and that I would receive a call later that day to finally schedule that appointment. I never got the call. Today, Monday. I call Marissa and was not able to reach her so I called the hematology department & spoke to Ruth and she says she doesn’t know why Marissa would say that I would expect a call from her. Then proceeded to give me the number for lab to schedule an appointment (since the lab was finally approved or that note was fixed or whatever,) she said I don’t even need an appointment that I could just walk in but they recommended an appointment. So I have been waiting 2 months for an authorization and a call to schedule the appointment but don’t even need an appointment…….. this is ridiculous. My child’s health, in fact any child, should be their priority and I totally feel let down on this. I normally have no issues, I feel like my child is in great care. But this is not acceptable. I didn’t even get a apology for waiting this long for an approval, just her saying it was an error on their end. Yes, quite an error that I have to wait 2 months about an authorization. The fact that I even had to call after 2 months because I hadn’t heard from them. Had I not called, when were they gonna get back to me?!? They would have just left the note in her order that was put there in error!!
We waited for over an hour to do an x-ray. Which took 3 minutes when they pulled us back. When we first walked in, the waiting room was empty and the three staff nurses had their masks off and were talking. After checking in and waiting for 30 minutes I asked how much longer and they said 15 minutes. I waited another 30 minutes. My poor 2 year old was the one who needed the x-ray. When I asked how much longer again, the lady gave me attitude. I asked why other patients who had come in after me were going first. They rudely said they had appointments. I asked if I could schedule an appointment and she said no.The one that checked is into the hospital was extremely rude as well. What a waste of time and energy. You guys are horrible. I don't know how you're still in businesses. 👎👎👎
EL MEJOR HOSPITAL, GRACIAS DR. TAMMAM BEYDOU POR ATENDER A MI HIJO, DIOS INTERCEDIO POR MEDIO DE SUS MANOS, ESTAREMOS AGRADECIDOS CON USTED DE POR VIDA... NOS GUSTARIA VOLVER A VERLO PARA AGRADECERLE PERSONALMENTE... QUE DIOS LO BENDIGA..🙏
The ER has really gone down hill. I got here at 9 pm they checked my daughters vitals and started an IV, they told me they would give her something for the pain and it's now almost 4 am and we are still waiting outdoor. I went to check how much longer and they don't know. I can't believe they couldn't give her any medicine everyone is just chit chatting in the nurse station. I would give choc 0 stars but I can't

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
