Horrible experience!!! Dr. Yu is an uncaring doctor with no concern for his patient, their comfort and needs and zero bedside manner. My husband and I went in for a preventative colonoscopy at 60 years old. It took 5 stabs to start the IV in my arms and 3 stabs to start the IV in my husband's arms. I had HUGE black and purple bruises up and down my arms for 3 to 4 weeks. During the colonoscopy I was awake and in EXTREME pain from the tub going up into my body. I verbally told Dr. Yu I was awake and that I was really in a lot of pain from him doing the procedure. He told me, "you'll be ok". He did NOTHING to alleviate the pain I was in. IT WAS HORRIBLE!! My husband had the same experience. We both had preventative care colonoscopies when we were 50 years old with Dr. Miao...we went to sleep and woke up feeling rested 30 minutes later with NO PAIN. There was absolutely no reason for either of us to have suffered like we did!! BEWARE!!This procedure for us both was strictly preventative care. Dr. Yu put down rectal bleeding which was NOT TRUE. So now our insurance company doesn't want to cover the procedure as 100% preventative care and we are being billed $$$$ hundreds of dollars from Dr. Yu and the surgery center where the procedure was performed. I called the Dr. Yu's office to let them know of the error and they said if that's what Dr. Yu wrote then that is the end of it. It is my feeling Dr. Yu just wants more money because this was strictly preventative care. We would have never gone in for any other reason because we don't have any problems.
I think Dr. Yu is excellent, both with patient care, follow-ups and procedures. He found out why I was anemic, a bleeding pollyp in my stomach. I would go back to see him again, in fact I have an appointment today!

My mother was having stomach problems, even though her initial test was negative, he pursued the issue and ordered additional tests, where it was discovered that she had lymphoma. Because of his thorough care, she was able to to catch it early and undergoing successful treatment. She really appreciates his thoroughness and she feels he saved her life. Sincere thanks from my mother, Ui Soon Kim.
Great Dr listens to their patients needs and very understanding in every way.
