Melvin Huie's Online Review Report Card

I saw Dr Huie for a few years. He was the worst internist I had seen in over 30 years. After Safrit and Ammon retired, he was the only one that took my insurance pre health care reform. Every year I wanted to find someone better. He was nice enough, but his knowledge seemed dated and his approach disinterested. And then he dropped me, without explanation, and the only thing that happened was my insurance paid him late.

Best physician. I have been a patient of Dr. Huie's for many years.

It’s weird to me that so many people give dr huie such high ratings. My sons and husband were patients briefly and he never diagnosed anything correctly and he prescribed “medicines” for symptoms without knowing if my kids or husband needed them. He did not bother to explain the long term effects of these medications and laughed when my son came into his office high on marijuana and said it’s good for his nausea. He was in high school at the time and he basically gave my son permission to be high during school. It turns out btw that my sons nausea was from mixing marijuana with tobacco to get a little buzz- good job dr huie - you are not a healer, you are an enabler and I would welcome it if you would reconsider how you practice medicine.Please take a little more time to know your patients and find out what they really need.

Doc Huie has been both my husband and my primary care physician for so many years, it hard to say how long. But, basically since he set up his own practice. He is kind, caring and a really good Sport medicine/internist Doctor. He does work in a casual atmosphere and talks to his patients on a level they understand. He really is awesome. We are grateful to him for so many years of TLC. His office staff is wonderful, efficient and if you need to get in to see him they make sure you are taken care of. We highly recommend Doc Huie. He is one of the best Doctors in it area.

Dr. Huie is the best Primary Care Doctor I've ever seen in action. He listens well, and clearly keeps up with all that is new in medicine. His interpersonal skill is evident, in the manner in which he inspires his patients to continue to take good care of themselves, however challenging it can be.

Sure do miss him now that my insurance changed. He is caring and listens well, will send you to a specialist when needed. He should have someone there to check vitals though.

i've been going to dr. huie office for years. very nice and i like his sports injury knowledge also. the office could use some updating but as the only downside you could do a lot worse. i would recommend him and i have.
