List of John Walters's Reviews
My partner suffers with pulmonary fibrosis and chose Dr Walters as his PCP when we moved here a year and a half ago. He likes him as a person but now in hindsight, we realize that Dr Walters has not been actively treating his disease, misleading him that he's healthier than he actually is and has basically abandoned his care.My partner had a CT Scan in December and has been trying to get the results ever since. Dr Walters never returns any of the phone calls made to get the results. We were then told that we needed to schedule a Tele-Health call in order to get the results and made the appointment for 2 weeks ago and the doctor never called even though we sat here all day waiting for the call. The nurse said the next day that the doctor did call and got no answer but there's no record of it on the phone. Even if he did and couldn't get through, why wouldn't he follow up until he did get through? What if the patient was incapacitated or was laying at home dead?We finally contacted the radiology lab directly and got the test results (which we weren't told we could do) which show his condition is seriously worse. So the doctor has known this since December and not told his patient!Yesterday I had to take him to St John's as his breathing got so bad and he's now on steroid therapy. It's clear that he should have been on medication, respiratory therapy AND referred for clinical trials this whole time but Walters has just been telling him he's fine. On top of this, my partner has lost an extreme amount of weight and Dr Walters just kept telling him how healthy he is. He's now just skin and bones, eating like a bird and Walters has done nothing, including not prescribing an appetite stimulant. This is patient abandonment and negligence and we've now filed a complaint with the Medical Board of California. The Pulmonologist on staff at the hospital also tried to contact Walters and left a message that he was treating one of his patients and Walters couldn't be bothered to return his calls either.
The wait times are ridiculous. Every time I go I have to wait 1.5 hours+after my appointment time to be seen. As if I don't have a job and a life to get back to. They say it's so each patient gets personalized care, but then they should take time gaps into consideration when scheduling appointments. I thought he was great and cared on my first appointment but I have gotten zero help for my chronic back pain. Take advil is all I get as if I haven't already been doing that duh.! Every referral they have given me is to the wrong office or won't take my insurance. I've been trying to get mental health help for MONTHS! Now I fing out I'm pregnant and they can't even get me a referral to a gyno. Mind you I've been trying to get a referral to a gyno for months before I even found out. My insurance says they can do a blood test for me and get a referral but when I call they tell me maybe go to planned parenthood. Why do I have to go there if I have insurance? This is by far the worst care I've ever recieved in my life.
I’m still waiting to be seen an hour after my appointment time. Really nice staff but the dr., don’t know if I’ll ever get to see him.
Dr. Walters is a very good dr. He takes his time with patients. He looks at everything and he cares a lot.
Horrible first experience. My appointment was at 11:30 am I got there at 11:15. I didn't get seen until 145 pm. I will say John Walter's actually took time to listen and discuss each issue which made me come back and edit this review from 1 star to 3. I feel like this level of attention is lost in larger hospitals. I felt like he actually cared
Great old school Dr., Takes his time with his patients, genuinly works with you to help you. Downside is he takes his time with patients, so sometimes you do have to wait. Staff is excellent and professional.
Dr Walters is a caring and patient physician. . He will always take the time to explain everything to you. He presents any medical choices you have to make and you determine the course of action with his guidance.
An excellent Doctor, one of the very best. Can't recommend him enough! He takes time to listen to you and is extremely knowledgeable in the field of medicine. You will not be disappointed by this Doctor. He takes time for his patients
I have been going to Dr. Walters for twenty years. I was married to a doctor and have the inside track on good and poor doctors, so believe me, he is the best! No doctor is more knowledgeable and he will take all the time in the world to explain options. The only downside is that he takes all the time in the world on all of his patients; therefore, expect to wait awhile.
I was very please at my first visit to Dr. Walter's office. The staff was extremely friendly and puts you at ease. Dr. Walters was very attentive, proactive and listens to what you tell him. I felt he was very thorough in assessing my prior health issues and gave recommendations on how to keep me healthy in the future. I'm very happy I found them!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
