List of A. Gregory Caruso's Reviews
Dr. Caruso was recommended to us and has done a great job over the several years we have been going to Sunlife. I just visited his office and was so pleased with the efficiency and friendliness of his staff and nurses. He took time to discuss my diagnosis and did a very good job of explaining what was going on. He is so knowledgeable and went through with me different alternatives and together we came up with what was best.My husband really likes his as well and he has had a lot more interactions and more serious problems to fix. We both highly recommend Dr. Caruso.
I moved here over a year ago and met Dr. Caruso only once for a new patient consult. He was very nice and professional, and spent about 45 minutes with me. I was satisfied with my choice. However, his staff does not answer the phone, does not return phone calls, and are rude and unhelpful IF you ever get ahold of someone. In the past year, it has taken my pharmacy 3-4 times faxing and/or calling (they don't answer pharmacists' calls either) before they finally fill it. Once, it took 3 weeks to get my blood pressure meds filled. I was out for over a week. Also, when I tried to set up my online account access, I called their tech support number and was treated like an idiot. After numerous tries, I just gave up. Despite Dr. Caruso's caring and attention when I met with him, that ONLY has value IF I can get ahold of him and navigate his less than caring staff. You're only as good as the people who work for/with you. I'm already looking for a different doctor.
Never return calls. Left 5 messages for bloodwork and checkup. Very poor service. May be out of business?
I have called the office four times over seven weeks asking for someone to contact me, but no one has. I hoped we could establish a relationship since I moved here from the Antelope Valley and am now distressed that your staff's unprofessional behavior has caused me to rethink my medical care. Very disappointing. Due to Covid-19, I understand the work-from-home situation, but this borders on neglect. I've only been to the office once, in 2019, but nonetheless, I'm ignored. If you can find another health care provider, I suggest you do so for this group does not treat you with respect.
I spoke to Dr. Caruso on a zoom call. He gave me lots of time and asked me questions and answered mine. I usually get Bob, his PA, who is also very good and for most things I do not need to see Dr. Caruso personally.
very rude front desk - made me repeat everything and didnt listen to anything -
Went to Caruso's office for a general physical and an RX for some blood test lab work. The office atmosphere is fairly rigid, aloof, and not in my opinion, patient oriented. Although Caruso had a nice manner and pleasant personality, I was shuffled off to his assistant after the initial consultation. Simply put, the office and staff are robotic. He never talked to me about any of the results from my blood tests, some of indicated the need for such discussion. The physician assistant called me about potential clinical hypothyroidism (which I diagnosed) and indicated that Caruso had prescribed me a medication to deal with it. No consultation, no looking into the cause of the slightly low thyroid function. Only, "doctor has prescribed this medication. Which pharmacy do you want to use."I am interested in treating the cause of a problem, not exacerbating it with the ingestion of toxic synthetic drugs. So Caruso, like most busy, ignorant, money-oriented, brainwashed physicians, only makes superficial diagnoses and then prescribes a toxic drug to treat the symptom rather than determining the cause of the malady so it can be addressed and cured. It was the same issue with my high cholesterol. No looking at the break down of the cholesterol (HDL:LDL), no ultrasound to examine the condition of my arteries, no EKG to assess my heart functioning, only the recommendation to take an Alzheimer's inducing statin which robs the brain of critically needed cholestrol, which has little to do with heart disease. This isn't medicine, it's superficial, medical quackery and akin to using a shotgun to kill a fly.I would not recommend Caruso for any diagnosis or treatment to heal an illness or assess one's health. If you are only interested in getting a prescription with no intelligent discussion of your disease etiology or how to heal it, then go see Caruso. If you want to heal on a long term basis without added complications from deleterious, over prescribed drugs, avoid him and others like him like the plague. This review is strictly my opinion as a consumer and patient and expresses my personal reaction to the way I was processed and treated by the staff of Gregory Caruso.
Dr. Caruso is exceptional. My husband and I switched to him almost two years ago in search of a doctor that would listen, explain and explain in a manner that's understandable. We also wanted someone that does not make you feel rushed. Dr. Caruso checks all those boxes and has a great bedside manner. What a find! My husband and I highly recommend Dr. Caruso!
I have had medical examinations/treatment around the world - from Thule Greenland, to Landsthul West Germany, to the British Indian Ocean Territories, to Adana Turkey, to the United Kingdom and throughout the United States of America. It is awkward to move / change physicians - in a manner, like getting a haircut in a new location from a barber you do not know. I did some research and checked on this physician and the practice. I still did was unsure about my choice. While it is a drive for me (1.5 hours) each way it has been well worth it. The receptionist is always a delight to deal with and most helpful. I have always been greeted in a polite, professional and most welcoming manner. My first appointment (for intake) was with the Physician's Assistant - Dr. Bob. Very thorough, attentive, personable and professional. Still not knowing what to expect, but very pleased with my first meetings, I also had my physical there - via Dr. Caruso. Wow! I am impressed! Having traveled around the world a bit and received medical care here and there (most of it was outstanding - especially cardiology and surgery in Turkey -...but being on the move constantly....) it was very good to have the physician spend well over an hour (closer to 1.5 hours) specifically conducting the exam and reviewing the lengthy medical record and issues - and not rushing at all (my last government/military physical was 15 minutes and the physician was very mindful of the 15 minutes allowed). I had expected 15 to 30 minutes maximum at this practice. But no! - and it is one of the most thorough and complete physicals that I have ever had. Where I am used to medical personnel just breezing through this was absolutely not the case at this practice. A recent injury has been and continues to be addressed - thoroughly! Past/current medical issues are being addressed and appropriate referrals are being made. I walked out quite pleased and very comfortable that I have found a physician/medical practice that will properly address my medical needs and issues (much better than they have been 'addressed' elsewhere). From the initial contact with the receptionist a few months ago to the intake exam to the actual physical everyone was very professional, polite, and most welcoming. I have found an outstanding medical team to help improve my health. Now if I could just find a barber as good as my hometown barber (LOL).
Me and my family been blessed for many years to be treated not like any other physician as long as we can remember. The most sacred function of this profession is the patient, and that is what Dr. Caruso and his team providing to the visitors seeking guidance and treatment......Dr. Caruso's practice is not limited to recommendations, but to provide results of the treatment and follow the outcome.Five stars are not enough for such huge universal ability foe this experience and explanation...I wish him and his team the best in his offerings to all who trust in himBest,Eden bebla and family

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
