List of Raj K. Sinha's Reviews
I went to see Dr Sinha in March of 2023. I do not understand the poor reviews...seems like they are talking about a different physician. He was kind, professional, and took more time with me than I expected. Discussed all options, with surgery being the last. He injected my knee, which I hardly felt, and by the time I got home I was pain free. I am a registered nurse so I am very picky about my doctors and do not hesitate to voice my opinion. I would have liked to have seen my x-rays...my only negative thing to say.
INTERNET REVIEW OF DR. RAJ SINHA I am a legally-blind Marine Corps veteran and leader in the community. I offer this Internet review of Dr. Raj Sinha of Star Orthopedic. Dr. Sinha performed total right hip replacement surgery on me at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California on June 26, 2020. I am very pleased with the quality service of this doctor. I am living with AIDS and my HIV medicine caused severe arthritis in my right hip. I had to use a walker and a wheel chair. I was very concerned about my ability to rehabilitate my hip and be able to walk normally again without pain. I researched the services I would receive from the Veterans Administration (VA) and another doctor in Rancho Mirage who was affiliated with the Eisenhower Medical Center. I met with the other Medicare doctor and I told him that I live alone and with a painful swollen hip after surgery I may not be able to take care of myself immediately after surgery. I worried that I may not be able to walk to the bathroom or the kitchen. I told this doctor that I may need to spend some time in a skilled nursing facility to do physical therapy after my surgery. This doctor said that even though my Medicare insurance would pay for this physical therapy at a skilled nursing facility he would not authorize me to receive this benefit. Therefore, I decided not to have surgery with this doctor. I met with a VA surgeon but decided the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, California was too far away from my home in Rancho Mirage for my husband to be able to visit me in the hospital. So, the third doctor I researched was Dr. Raj Sinha. I saw on the Internet that Dr. Sinha had high review marks. I read his biography and learned that he has many years of experience and was instrumental in developing a better surgical method for hip replacement. So, I made an appointment at Star Orthopedic in Palm Desert, California. When I arrived at Star Orthopedic, I felt that the staff was very pleasant and professional toward me. I did not have to wait very long before I saw Dr. Sinha. Dr. Sinha shook my hand and then he looked at the x-rays of my right hip that had been done before my visit. Dr. Sinha asked me to stand up and wanted to see if my right leg was the same length as my left leg. I have learned that the size of the hip you receive is very critical to your recovery. Dr. Sinha knew I was living with AIDS and diabetic. He told me that my HIV viral load would need to be undetectable and that my A1C blood sugar level would have to be normal before surgery. I asked Dr. Sinha about care immediately after surgery and he said because of the COVID-19 pandemic I should consider not going to a skilled nursing facility. Dr. Sinha told me it would be my decision to make. Dr. Sinha assured me that he would have a nurse and a physical therapist come to my home often after surgery. Before surgery I had a chest x-ray, EKG and lab work done at Eisenhower Medical Center. This hospital also tested me for the COVID-19. Dr. Sinha Dr. Sinha assured me that I would be safe from COVID-19 while at this hospital. The surgery was very successful. The next day after surgery I was able to walk a short distance. I received pain medication which was very helpful. Dr. Sinha met with me in the hospital the next day after surgery. I asked Dr. Sinha how my old hip looked to him during the surgery he said it was in bad condition. Two days after surgery the hospital physical therapist had me walk up some steps Later, I was able to go home. I believe Dr. Sinha performed such a fine surgery that at home I did not have to take strong pain medications for very long. The nurses and physical therapists came to my home often for the two weeks after my surgery. Since then I have gone to Star Orthopedic for physical therapy. I am very impressed with the physical therapists at Star Orthopedic especially Michael Gurk. In just a couple of weeks after surgery I was able to walk without a walker and no longer needed a wheel chair. I am convinced that my decision to select Dr. Raj Sinha as my surgeon was a prudent one. I believe Dr. Raj Sinha is a great surgeon. I strongly recommend that you select Dr. Raj Sinha for your surgery. Thomas Swann Hernandez tomswannhernandez@earthlink.net
I saw Dr. Raj Sinha last week to inquire about stem cell procedure for my shoulders and hips. I left feeling like I met a Doctor that’s so knowledgeable and caring. He gave me great advise. I’d highly recommend Dr. Raj Sinha and Ortho Star. He has great bedside manner and definitely puts his patients first!
I had total knee replacement surgery almost 3 years ago and I am so happy with this decision. Dr. Sinah is an excellent surgeon and throughly prepared me pre- and post-surgery. I felt very comfortable & secure in his capable hands. The staff at Star Ortho were friendly, professional and very comforting. I had the best physical therapist who educated me on my surgery and how to maintain my strength. I highly recommend Dr. Sinah & his staff at Star Ortho for knee surgery. Stay positive & thrive!
Dr Sinha had to do a revision of my total hip replacement , done by another dr , and it turned out great. So happy with the result. Great care.
Anyone who wishes to email me about your treatment with Dr. Raj Sinai and his terrible treatment to you I’d love to hear your story. Mslynn5858@outlook.com
On 6-7-2019 I had a right knee replacement. Dr Sonja was excellent. They have you get a CT Scan then built a New knee replace built just for you. When I left the hospital they show how to climle step to get into My mobile home. I had surgery on Friday & come home Sun afternoon. I had not trouble with step to enter My mobile home. I was walking with My walker Sunday 6-9-19 with very little pain. Within a few days I could walk in My around in My home without a walker. I could shower within a week with little help. In & out of shower only. My recovery is going great.. Within 2 weeks i could drive short distances. My PT said that I am doing great. I EOULD recommends Dr Sinha if you have knee problems Star Otho is excellent service.
I was able to get an appointment quickly and was in and out within 30 minutes. I’ve also had surgery with Dr. Sinha which was a total success. I highly recommend him!!
I was told before confirming my appointment I wouldn't even see the M.D. , that I'd be seeing the P.A. on my first appointment. What a scam! I still went in. And I still gave them my $30 co-pay. I shouldn't have. I had never before been to an orthopedist who didn't show me my x-rays. They had no computers or screens in the exam rooms to do so! The P.A. was rude and had terrible bedside manner. At the end of my appointment when I asked for a note or script to take to work for a standing desk she said the Doctor had never signed anything like that before and wouldn't do so without seeing me. Well, excuse me... I was in the office and you all are the ones who scheduled me with the P.A. You expect me to have my insurance give you another couple of hundred dollars just so he could write a note?! Nope. I wish I would have read his horrible reviews before I made that appointment. Do NOT go to Dr. Sinha or his practice!!!!
replaced my knee but left me crippled for life

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
