List of Kenneth A. Lichtenstein's Reviews
I was a patient of Dr Lichtenstein in Denver. He is the shining example of what Doctor should represent! He is caring, compassionate, and empathetic! His ability to communicate with a person on their level is beyond expectation! He is one of the finest people in his profession, as well as knowledgeable and able to connect with his patients. He goes the extra mile to keep his patients healthy!
Dr. Lichtenstein is a jewel of a doctor: compassionate, caring, thorough in his examination, and in how he explains everything in layman's terms. When I heard he was retiring, I was upset.
For a long time I kept my primary care with my Doctor in L.A. even though I was living in the desert ever since I moved here back in 2005-6. Over the years, I realized the two to three hour commute (with always traffic) on the 10 Freeway was becoming exceedingly difficult for me, health-wise and stressing me out. I knew it was time for me to establish a new rapport with an excellent Specialist for Primary Care regarding my particular condition in the Desert Area - but I pondered... could I find a Physician/ HIV Specialist who would take the time and listen and log all the conditions/symptoms I was experiencing with my HIV, etc. ? A Nurse suggested I contact Dr. Lichtenstein at Eisenhower's Rimrock Annex Facility. My initial appointment began with a friendly greeting by three people working in the reception area at Rimrock. Some additional information about me as a new patient was briefly entered on their computer terminal. I was immediately escorted to an exam room by the RN Jody who assists Dr. Lichtenstein. Jody did the initial general Q & A medical information and would enter it into my new medical file via a mainframe computer terminal. I was then greeting by Dr. Lichtenstein, who explained since I am a new patient he will do a more in depth medical Q & A and enter it into my on-line medical file via the Eisenhower Medical main-frame. I was impressed of the thoroughness and the objective approach the way Dr. Lichtenstein examined my HIV condition with detailed medical questions on my past and present condition, side-affects, and my symptoms living with HIV, and about all of the past and present HIV medications I have been on since the early 1990's. I was very impressed that Dr. Lichtenstein's took the time and was not rushed during my initial Q & A consultation and exam- in turn, I became more relaxed (because I was thinking I had to explain everything about my condition within a slotted 10 to15 minute session like I used to with my previous doctor in L.A.). Those previous "In & Out" office visits I would often experience with my former Doctor was non-existent with Dr. Lichtenstein at The Rimrock medical facility. In fact, my initial medical exam took over two and a half hours with Dr. Lichtenstein, because he "left no stone unturned". All of my information was logged into the computer for my on-line medical file, along with the doctor's medical notes all "typed" in my new file. This Hi-Tech approach of managed care also impressed me about the Rimrock Medical Annex tied to Eisenhower's Medical Complex, because my former Primary Care Doctor in L.A. would handwrite all of his notes about my health conditions in a hard copy format file folder/chart, which was the main complaint with my Insurance Carrier attempting to decipher his illegible handwriting. I was also impressed that Dr. Lichtenstein had ordered labs (blood work) immediately the same day of my initial consultation/exam and I could see the results in the afternoon later that same day when I accessed my on-line medical file, amazing! My previous labs at my former doctor's office would take two weeks to get. My overhaul impression and rating (so far) is excellent for Dr. Lichtenstein, as well as for Jody, the RN who also assists the Doctor. I'm also impressed with the Eisenhower Medical Annex facility's in Palm Springs, CA. and their hi-tech on-line accessibility.
I'm a physician myself, under the care of Dr. Ken Lichtenstein for 15 years in Colorado. I have always considered Dr. Lichtenstein a physician's physician. He not only practices medicine, but also a frontier researcher in his field. I once needed a referral for a Doctor in Australia, and I then saw the top specialist in that whole country for years as well. Knowledgable, compassionate, personable, generous with his time are attributes that only break the surface of the mountain of qualities that is Dr. Kenneth A. Lichtenstein.
Dr. Lichtenstein reminds me of Marcus Welby, M.D., if you're old enough to remember that TV show. The first word that comes to mind is "kindly." I've been seeing Dr. Lichtenstein for about three years now, and I'm totally satisfied. He never seems rushed, which is great and very different from most every other doctor nowadays. So many other doctors seem like they have ten other more important things going on when you see them, but not Dr. Lichtenstein. His care is refreshingly retro.
Dr. Lichtenstein is a great doctor. He takes his time to listen and fully explain his diagnosis. Every time I have had a health issue he has always diagnosed it correctly and helped me get back to optimal health. It's a blessing to have someone like him that is compassionate, understanding and incredibly knowledgable.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
