Dr. Jamali's advice and opinions are highly valued!!!
Fantastic Doctor!
I have been seeing Dr. Jamali for several years. Drive 1 hr one way to see him and have always been pleased with his treatment. However I have been seeing him for a particular problem for 4 months now and not any better. I found a sports medicine Dr. 10 minutes from my home and asked Dr. Jamali for a referral so that I could make an appt. He refused and told me to get one from my family practice dr whom I have not seen for this problem which I must remain in pain until I can schedule this appt. I am very hurt by this and very disappointed in Dr. Jamali. I will not use him again. My daughter is also a patient of his and she will not use him again either.
If you are in need of an ortho' doctor, so far so good with this doctor. (and a wonderful staff) I didn't want to get rounds of injections for lateral epicondylitis, but I did... even with EVMS students in tow in the shadow of Dr. Jamali, it's been a good experience so far even with the possibility of surgery in my future... hopefully, you're experience the same thing compared to my experience with the SMOC group nearby... I might not like the idea of surgery for 'tennis elbow', as he wanted to avoid it also... but, I trust him thus far and will continue to trust him if it amounts to that... Much better than the SMOC practice nearby, that I visited for a calf tear in 2012, and in most ways when dealing with his practice...
Dr Jamali and I started out with a great report. He joked - I joked back. With a laugh he'd call me "his most challenging" patient cuz I gave it right back to him. As soon as he saw my MRI, he explained it and we set up surgery - outpatient. I had a bare bone of arthritis that he tried to get tissue to grow back over it. But because of that bare bone, I'm thinking of a partial knee replacement. He won't do a full knee replacement, because I don't need it. The other side of my leg is in perfect shape. He was very clear that I was to take some time to think about this operation, because I was ready to jump in, and he said "No," not until you've thought about it. To me that's a good doctor,
very poor bedside manner, incorrect diagnosis, dirty rundown office, rude staff
At first, I was thrown off by Dr. Jamali, he seemed "cold" and quick...but then after my MRI, he saw my injury clearly, and was very knowledgeable and straight forward with instructions. I would rather have a smart doc that shoots from the hip, than a mediocre doc that's funny & light hearted. He's amazing at his job. I have a very unique injury, matter of fact, one that he's only read & studied, never seen before. He and his student explained very clearly what I was to do...and I'm soon on the way to recovery!!!
Dr. Jamali knows what he's doing. He is very much to the point with his decisions and precise. I know people from physical therapy whom have worked with him on several occasions and was pleased..regardless of his methods...he's very good at what he does
Dr. Jamali does not care about the patient and just puts up a good front when you bring in your husband or family member. He is sarcastic and rude and seems to form opinions about you in his mind that interfere with his ability to make a proper diagnosis

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
