I have been a patient of Dr. Alves for over 4 years. Dr Alves is a kind and caring Dr. I appreciate having him as my Dr. He does everything he can to try to get you better,. Thank you Dr. Alves.
caring, straight-shooter..no empty promises,,I trust him and he takes time to visit about my general well being and tell me about his dog! Comfortable! Knowledgable, I TRUST him.
DR. DANIEL ALVES IS THE BEST!!!! I don't trust doctors, BUT I trust him. He is very kind but a STRAIGHT SHOOTER..no blowing smoke up my proverbial skirt about the glories of procedures and possibilities of a ways to make my life pain free..we talked...lots...about how to live a quality life in spite of the pain. I TRUST him...he is always available also. I would highly recommend this experience. I have HOPE! THANKS!
Dr has left me abandoned. He implanted a spinal cord stimulator in my body. It never has worked and he refuses to see me so I call that abandonment. Never ever heard of a Dr doing this to a patient. Especially when all I'm asking for is a follow up to see why the stim isn't working and the Medtronic Pain Stim Reps won't call me back. Would never in good conscience recommend Dr. Alves or Medtronic Spinal Cord Stimulators.I had to go elsewhere to get the X-ray I had asked for and was told the leads were all twisted and one side was lower than the other. My new Doctors both said “Who did this” which doesn’t install a lot of confidence in having this unit in my body. I had this unit explanted and a St Jude unit was installed to take its place using paddles rather than the leads that had proven ineffective. All I asked for was for the Dr to investigate why his surgery hadn’t worked and he refused to order X-rays etc. it was quite baffling.I would rate zero stars if that was an option.

Would give zero stars if I could. He implanted a spinal cord stimulator which hasn't worked since it was implanted. It doesn't even come close to hitting the spots that need stimulation. The frustration is he blew me off at the last appointment and won't give me the time of day. I had an appointment with Dr Alves two weeks ago and he said he'd see me after the Medtronic rep saw me. After she tried to program it to hit the correct spots, he blew me off and won't see me. #LeftHighAndDry Pretty poor after surgery care I'd say. I will be filing a complaint with the State of California Medical Licensing board. Two other Doctors from Workers Comp that have seen the incision scars were less than impressed with the surgery, but that part was not a shock because Dr Alves said it was not his best work, due to some difficulty getting the stimulator and leads implanted. I am questioning his decision to use #Medtronic branded stimulators as it appears that #StJude stimulators are far superior product. My wife has a St Jude Stim implanted and hers works well and the customer service from the Doctor and the St Jude Reps are second to none! I can't in good conscience recommend #DrDanielAlves, Universal Pain Management or Medtronic. I need an answer as to whether a revision surgery would correct the problem or if the dang thing just needs to be removed from my body as it is #Useless

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
