List of Garrison Family Medical Group's Reviews
Garrison used to be my favorite and go to doctor. I stopped seeing him after he dismissed my children's back pain symptoms. Only to find out they do in fact have herniated disc's, shown on MRI. I took my husband to see him after his near death experience in the hospital. Garrison was only concerned about my husband's weight. He didn't order a CBC which should have been ordered to show his hemoglobin and RBC due to AKI, but instead he made sure to check his thyroid as my husband's weight was more of a concern to him. His office didn't have the hospital records, and still don't a week later. He showed up to my husband's appt an hour and 15 mins late, but was quick to answer his personal cellphone when his son called him. He's done that numerous times during my appts. I expect that behavior from a child, not a grown adult who should know that a patients time is valuable. When he called to discuss the thyroid results, he didn't even know my husband's name. He gave himself a pat on the back for finding out that my husband has low thyroid but said he didn't know why he didn't order a CBC, then quickly said, "oh that's right, I knew that the other doctor would order it" No! That's not what happened. The other doctor informed him the following day that he (the kidney doc) ordered a CBC since Garrison didn't. Why not just order it before his appt with the specialist? Was his plan to send my husband to get poked more than once? Or could it be that he just wasn't paying attn to anything other than my husband's weight? At what point are you going to look past what you see, and treat someone with kindness and actually listen to the root cause of the appt that was made? Not all big people have diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. And not every person who experiences pain is a result of their weight. Look further in to it. If you can't, it's time to hang up the stethoscope.
Out of all the doctors and assistants in the av, this is by far one of the least id ever recommend the staff is very rude and childish during work hours, there very unorganized as doctors, they shove u to the side and get everything done when they feel like it, we were waiting a hour for our appt when they said to be here early? Which is weird, if your properly managing a office you would be more organized but apparently not them. So if you care abt your health n time dont go here
I'm new in the area and I chose Dr. Garrison to be my Primary Provider, I have to change it After 3rd time visit and HAVE VERY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THEM. Jen the Frontdesk and Older lady who have long brown hair with Glasses are MOST RUDEST frontdesk personnel I've Met. When I've done my 1st TB test appt. Nurse told me that I don't need to make an appointment to the Frontdesk and I can comeback on Thursday Anytime.. So I Came back Thursday and Jen the frontdesk doesn't accommodate me like pushing me away that she think I'm lying and ask n ask more question. And felt very embarrassed . I honestly felt Discriminated. Then when I See the nurse infront of me said YES SHE CAN DO WALK IN. Obviously those Employees have Lack of Communication aswell Hated their Job. These people need to learn what customer service is and be more professional. Have to dispute all the copay money we paid for this clinic. Very bad clinic I DONT RECOMMEND THIS. Stay away!! Employees are rude!! Very rude! Don't come here! Don't waste your money.

I don't know what happened with this office. I do know Deborah's nurse Monica was reason #1 why I left and #2 was Rick Garrisons general disinterest in helping someone who came to him with a sincere concern. No wonder is all I have to say. Try Joshua Medical Group. They are actually really great at communicating, listening and making sure as your general practitioner, they remain involved.
Will be switching from this primary to a different one, I do not trust them anymore. I came in with severe tonsil swelling, I had seen four other doctors for it before and I had been ignored over and over. My primary here ignored me as well. I was told since it's only one tonsil it's fine, just take vitamin c and d3 and honey and l'll be fine. My primary barely even looked down my throat, did not do any testing, and ruled it off as mono swelling. I went to an urgent care the next day and was finally listened to (Palmdale urgent care) and they told me it was a peritonsillar abscess, they gave me antibiotics. I had to be hospitalized that night (literally the night after seeing my primary) because the one tonsil was blocking my airway, the pain was so bad they gave me morphine. I was given antibiotics and steroids, and I was so dehydrated I was given an IV drip. They also put me on oxygen and did a CT scan. Turns out the abscess was huge and they sent me all the way to LA because I had to get it drained immediately. My primary here did not care to look deeper into what was really wrong, did not bother to test for anything (I had asked them to do a throat swab and was told there was no point), refused to offer me real medication, refused me a referral for surgery to remove my tonsils (as l've had three other issues before this one) and I nearly died because of it. Thankful for the other doctors who found the issue and saved my life.
The receptionist at this office is the most rude and disrespectful person I’ve ever seen in my life ! She has a attitude issues and is very loud and very demanding, she loudly told me to go sit more than once when I told her I don’t want to sit at this moment and asked her to call another person for me to speak with and she kept on telling me there is no one I can speak with and told me to go home because I was 9 minutes late from my appointment! This is a doctors office not a getto office ! Very unprofessional and rude staff ! This office needs more respectful and lovely energetic employees!!
Tried to call and no one answered. I wanted to see if they’re still urgent care. Drove over only to find out the office was empty, receptionist was sitting on her phone. Told me they’re no longer an urgent care… but they couldn’t answer the business phones?
After waiting 20 minutes on hold was instructed by a live rep to please hold and was hung up on 2xs
During the time my daughter and I were members of this doctor's office, I going through a nasty custody battle. My ex convinced our doctor to take his side and falsefy our records. It didn't work in court because drug and alcohol tests countered the records and other doctors from other offices were not unethical. With that said, these records still keep coming up from time to time because this doctor has no problem sending them out, still, and I get denied medical treatment based on their falsefied records. And the retesting starts again. It's a waste of medical money and time. They should be shut down.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
