Darius Moshfeghi's Online Review Report Card

He is one of the bests in Retina and absolutely he is number one in Retina both in adults and babies in California. He always explains everything in details for each patient and he knows exactly what is going on with his patients. He talked to the patients with patience and answers all their questions and he never leaves them until he makes sure that all patients' concern have been addressed. As a patient you just need to ask your questions. He always leave his numbers to each patient to contact him in any emergency situation. I highly recommend him to anyone with adult retinal or ROP problems.

We had to bring our infant son to Dr. M for a couple of rare congenital eye conditions. A couple of things are very clear: 1) Dr. M is extraordinarily busy and in demand. 2) Dr M is a brilliant and talented physician and surgeon. While I, at times, have felt some of the same grievances over his seeming lack of time and empathy, the truth is I have come to see him as a busy man who cares and undoubtedly works too much. He freely hands out his cell number and answered the call any time we had ?

After reading the previous review I felt compelled to write about my experience with Dr. MOSHFEGHI. I have been a patient of Dr. MOSHFEGHI'S since 2013. From the staff to the doctor I have always been treated with care and professionalism. This doctor is beyond amazing and professional. He is extremely busy and it dosen't matter what day or month you see him but, he knows his profession inside and out. He has always been thorough in explaining what is going on with my tumor, I have a cordial tumor. All treatments were thrown into high gear at diagnosis and I give him full credit along with my cancer team at Stanford for being alive at this point. I do understand that some doctors have no bedside manor but, that is not Dr. MOSHFEGHI. He does and will explain any questions you may have, just ask. I highly recommend to anyone having a rental problem to seek out the best in the San Francisco Bay Area and that would be Dr. MOSHFEGHI at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford!

Never in my life I met a doctor with worse communication skills. Did not explain anything, was extremely brief, though provided a paperwork with SIX problems, which I supposedly have. Now I have to google it and hope that I'll figure it out. Scheduled me a follow up in a month - there is no way I'm going to see him again. Absolutely horrible. Wish I could get my $$$ back, though it's not really about money. PS: have an advanced degree in tech. and don't consider myself senile (at least yet)

Took my elderly mother to see him at San Carlos Palo Alto Medical Foundation facility. His nurse did not know how to handle a patient in a wheelchair, and the retina scan equipment was restricted on how it could be configured, to the point that the technician could not even take a scan because she was too stout and short (4' 10) and could not stand without support. Then there was a very long wait to see the doctor (45 mins) and he spent very little time with us. It was a waste of time.

He performed a scleral buckle surgery on my eye, while, in my opinion, he knew that the procedure was not needed. My condition was retinoschisis that does not respond to any surgical treatment. The history of my symptoms clearly pointed to retinoschisis. He refused to examine the lesion with OCT that was available in his office. OCT would have identified my condition clearly. Instead, he scared me into going through with the surgery in a rush. Retinoschisis was confirmed much later by OCT. As a consequence of what I can only call his questionable motive, I had to go through the trauma of the surgery and will have to live with its negative consequences. A less inquisitive patient would have never found out. Be careful.

One thing for sure, is the long wait time.After you've been dilated, he lets you sit in the examining room for at least half an hour. I guess that's just how he functions. He specializes in retinal oncology and pediatic retinal diseases. Do i really need to see him for an adult retinal condition when there are other retinalist in my location? The only reason i see him is b/c he is a physician at Stanford Hospital and one would assume he must be really good. I guess that's why he is at Stanford b/c of his extra experise. He seems like a nice guy. I have been to other retinalists and the waiting time is 80 percent shorter every appointment.

this physician has excellent reputation among other physicians which seems more important than feeling a little rushed
