I witnessed a family friend take her daughter to Dr. Koo to do eye test for a specific condition. Dr. Koo did the tests and gave her expert opinion and saved the child from unnecessary treatment other eye doctor had prescribed. Her excitement and engagement with the child showed her passion for her job. I'd recommend anyone to take their children to Dr. Koo. You child will be in the safest hands.
I have been bringing my daughter here. Dr. Koo and Amanda Yonkers for a few years and not the sweetest child caring people. They are always rushed and dont seem to care about the kid's feelings they just go in do their thing and get out. Really not caring about how the kid feels. These are bad experiences for the kids already and you would wish for the doctors to be nicer but they are not. Look else wehre as they will also take your money.
My daughter has been seeing Dr. Koo for 5 years. My daughter was 13 when we started and had two prior ophthalmologists and 2 prior strabismus surgeries. My daughter could not pass the driving eye sight test. After seeing Dr. Koo, we were able to get glasses so she can drive. Dr. Koo also performed a 3rd strabismus surgery that made my daughter's eyes align perfectly for the first time in 15 years! 3 years later - still perfect! Dr. Koo is a warm, engaging person. She has a straightforward style, easily explaining surgical and non-surgical options.
My daughter is two and a half, we have been having all the appointments like eyes, hearing, endocrinology, etc with Stanford Children's Health. Dr. Euna Koo has been my daughter's eye doctor since her first doctor visit. The first time, I was not very comfortable because my daughter was only a few months old, and she did not understand any orders, Dr. Koo inserted a metal tool into my daughter's eye to keep her eyes wide open, so that she can examine. I did not complain, because I thought maybe that was the best way for my little baby. However, my baby cried and had bad dreams for three nights, screaming during sleep, and was upset during daytime after that visit. The second visit was six months later, we waited for almost two hours, and we finally saw Dr. Koo, and she told me she had a rough, tired day, which I understand, and mine was not any easier than hers. She seemed happy that my daughter was her last patient, and she asked me if I have noticed any differences or abnormal about
Unfortunately we had a horrible experience with Dr. Koo. We felt extremely rushed in an appointment with our 4 month old. She told us the best case scenario is that he “might see light” in his affected eye, would need glasses, protective eye gear his whole life, and was not a candidate for an eye muscle surgery to rectify his strabismus. Well, thank god, we got a second opinion. 4 months later in another optho’s care, our baby boy now has equal vision in both eyes, does not require glasses (no refractive error), and we are awaiting the eye muscle surgery. My husband and I were seriously traumatized by our initial visit with Dr. Koo and wouldn’t wish the experience we had on our worst enemy, let alone new parents. Please please consider a second opinion. And Dr. Koo, I hope you will choose to spend some time reflecting on your rushed bedside manner/diagnosis.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
