Dr Adamson is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. Extremely knowledgeable, professional and excellent people skills.
Congress Orthopedic Pasadena is a busy place with many doctors. I figured that I'd be just another 'knee' and be rushed in and rushed out. Dr Adamson quickly put those thoughts to rest. He took time to understand my injury and include some funny stories of his own. He definitely put me at ease.On my second visit following my MRI I was still inclined to think that surely we'd have to go back over everything we had talked about on my previous visit. He immediately recalled everything, the knee and my concerns of living a long active life. I believed, and still do, that he genuinely wants to see that happen.Dr Adamson is a great doctor and a wonderful human being. And the knee is doing very well! While I'd rather not have another injury too soon, he will be the one I'll want to see.
I just saw Dr Adamson today for my sprained right knee. Although the 10 page paperwork fill process was a bad start with hour wait this Dr changed my entire perspective as soon as he walked in the door to see me. When a Dr walks in with a smile on his face and a good friendly attitude you know he enjoy his job. The guy is an absolute rock star and a gem for Congress Orthopedic Associates located in Pasadena. He makes you feel at ease, cares about how you feel, and really makes you feel comfortable with his whole approach and jokes. I have seen my fair share of Drs over the years and while many are forgotten about the ones that leave a good impression can never be forgotten. I'm truly lucky to have been referred to this Dr and I feel assured that I'm in good hands. Dr Adamson thank you! From the Boston Patriots fan patient =)
Dr. Adamson completed by ACL reconstruction in December 2004. This is an extremely late review, but yelp didn't exist back then, and when I think back on what this man was able to do to save my basketball career, it is important for me to write this review, even though it is 15 years after the fact. I tore my ACL while living and going to school in LA and playing college basketball down there. I was devastated. It was the beginning of my second year, and I had never had a serious injury before minus a bad ankle sprain in high school. Dr. Adamson helped me to feel supported from the very beginning. He is very calming and reassuring. Even though I was terrified about having surgery and what my knee would be like afterward, he always helped me to feel comfortable with my options and his ability to make things happen. I still, to this day, remember him explaining to me that your ACL is like a string naturally in your body, and obviously after it tore it was broken. Following surgery, it would be like a rope, rather than a string, and it was my job to rehab and complete physical therapy to set myself up for the best situation to prosper following the procedure. I ended up being able to run after only about 3-4 months after surgery and was back playing basketball at full capacity after about 6 months. I had a college athletic trainer working with me everyday, and a bunch of other resources, so it's not entirely fair and not everyone would be able to have that kind of recovery, but I know that people were amazed at how quickly I came back, and I was better than ever on the basketball court, if you believe it. I did have to wear this bulky black knee brace for a year, which I hated, but it kept my knee safe, and after that year, I stopped wearing it and played college basketball for two more years, and then one year competitively in Germany without ever re-injuring that knee again. I also want to mention I used the patella to replace my ACL, and this was a fairly new procedure at the time (I believe?). One of the best things about it was it required 4 small incisions on the front of the knee instead of the thick, long one that you see with most ACL surgeries. Dr. Adamson suggested this for me, and I am so glad he did! Most people don't even believe I had ACL surgery because the scars are so small. This is definitely something that I overlooked when going into surgery-- what my scar would look like and how it would effect me for the rest of my life-- and I am so grateful that Dr. Adamson had my best interest in mind because I never would have thought about it. He truly is such an excellent surgeon and doctor, and I am so lucky he was the one who completed my surgery.
Dr. Adamson is the best. I have gone to him for years for my knee problem. His entire staff is great. All the doctors in this practice are amazing. Customer service is the best which is as important as the doctors in my opinion. If you need a great orthopedic doctor run don't walk to see them.
My father, recently tore his biceps tendon at the elbow, which is a serious injury because without repair, his arm would not have been able to function properly. The radiologist said that his bicep wasn't torn all the way and had a chance to repair on its own, however Dr. Adamson recommended it would be better to go on with the surgery.I am beyond happy that we listened to Dr. Adamson and went on with the surgery, because when he did the surgery he discovered that my fathers tendon was in fact FULLY torn and needed to be reattached. Dr. Adamson properly diagnosed the tear and successfully repaired the tendon, he is an exceptional surgeon who has years of experience and knows what is best for his patients. Had my father not done the surgery, he would have eventually lost full function of my arm below my elbow. The surgery and recovery couldn't have gone smoother. Thankfully, they were able to schedule him a couple days after his first appointment, because the tendon had been torn for over a week. My father received excellent care from Dr. Adamson and his team, pre and post-op. He had some pain and mild discomfort after the surgery, but that was normal and the pain medication prescribed greatly helped relieve some pain.We are very content with the overall recovery. Dr. Adamson is very experienced, confident, and professional. He has done this surgery many times, along with his other ortho procedures. His staff is always welcoming and insure that you feel 100% comfortable. Overall, Dr. Adamson did a phenomenal job with the surgery and we couldn't be happier that we chose him. I highly recommend anyone who needs an orthopedic procedure to visit him! Before meeting Dr. Adamson, my father was very fearful of going into any kind of surgery or procedure, he tried avoiding going to the doctors office because of his fear of surgery.Lotfali Shirmohammadi can confidently say that after receiving the care and treatment from Dr. Adamson and his staff, he is no longer afraid because of the positive experience he had with Dr. Adamson and Congress medical.
Dr. Adamson did my shoulder surgery of a torn rotator cuff March 13 2013, He suggested a sports medicine fully equipped rehab center near my house. (West Covina) Sleeping in my Easy chair for a few weeks was the only way to sleep for me. He was a great surgeon and his rehab guy were the best. It's painful in rehab, but he said it was necessary, and 5 years down the road he is right. I have full mobility and no pain. My left shoulder is next, with him.
Echoing everything written by previous Yelper, a chiropractor thus someone who has his own expertise in this arena. Dr. Greg's a local product, born and raised locally. Attached and affiliated with every local pro and collegiate team. Everyone thinks the world of Dr. Greg, everyone. My own situation was unique, weird. Needed (and need) a Total Shoulder Replacement. The issue? A sudden irregular heartbeat, possibly bought-on by a stressful occupation these past three years (I've since left, removed myself from). I'd never even needed to see a cardiologist before, this is how good my health has been. Behind excellent nutrition/complete workout routine I religiously adhere to. The cardiologist had/has reservations about a Total Shoulder Replacement. So a church friend said, "Try Dr. Gregory Adamson over at Congress Medical, he MIGHT be able to see/find an alternative and to HELP you with the pain." Can you imagine the situation? You NEED a new shoulder but your cardiologist is RELUCTANT to let you go ahead with it. I don't BELIEVE in heavy-duty pain medication, would only consider taking it FOLLOWING a-replacement-surgery. So I'm in a great deal of pain, managing this pain with Aleve. At any rate went in, saw the kind and classy Dr. Greg - he was everything I'd been told he was. He spent a good deal of time with me. Checking out the CD's I'd bought from both the Shoulder MRI as well as the Echo-Cardiogram that the cardiologist had me do. Understood the dilemna, suggested Physical Therapy. But more so let me know the CARDIOLOGIST's take was way-more-significant. "That's even more important than a brand-new shoulder," said Dr. Greg. So he referred me to one of Pas's top cardiologists, Dr. Fernando Roth. Who's agreed to see me on short notice BECAUSE it's Dr. Gregory Adamson making the referral. Once we figure out the irregular heartbeat? We can probably do the Total Shoulder Replacement. My thing was Dr. Greg cared, understood the conundrum, put himself in my shoes/place. We think it's the stress of city government regarding a one-term position I'd held that was way-beyond-demanding. My own cardiologist predicted we could get this under control, that it's quite atypical for me given my love of both exercise, nutrition (and sobriety). So Dr. Greg much gratitude for seeing me on short notice, for the referral, the concern, the care. Thank-you. "Congress Medical" is filled with such doctors/care - i.e. Dr. Roy Ashford, their great back and spine specialist. Been a tough two years but I'm coming out of it. So grateful to be in the San Gabriel Valley. Where the best possible medical care is available - very lucky and grateful.
Dr Adamson is a great orthopedic surgeon and I have trusted him with surgically repairing BOTH of my shoulders over the past 15 years, and shoulders are pretty important tools if you are a chiropractor and play tennis. I send all my orthopedic shoulder patients to Dr Greg. He is funny, classy, down to earth, a great Dad, and is a local product out of Muir HS Pasadena and Stanford University. They dont get any smarter than Greg. I would trust him with the lives f my family, and doctors don't say that easily. Dr Bud
