List of Jagdip Powar's Reviews
Dr Powar was my first OBGYN and I couldn't have been more happy choosing him. Him and his team took great care of me from my first appoint all the way to my postpartum appointment. He was professional yet personable. You could tell that his staff as well as the L&D had a good relationship with him. Highly recommended!
Dr. Powar and the entire staff are the best. I am a long time patient and so grateful to be in such good hands all these years.
In July 2020, I delivered my son at Stanford. I was a patient of a doctor in Dr. Powar's practice. Following an unexpected labor, emergency c-section, and my son in the NICU, my OB left me in the care of Dr. Powar due to 4th of July weekend. Dr. Powar visited my room one time. He walked in, briefly introduced himself, and said three quick things: "You need to take a shower. I hear your son is in the NICU, he'll be fine. I see a wheelchair outside your room. Don't be lazy. Walk to the NICU." He was so cold, and lacked any sort of compassion required for the field of medicine. My stay at Stanford following my delivery was absolutely horrific due to lack of care, confusion about medication, and general support following a serious surgery--this encounter with Dr. Powar didn't help. I shared this experience with his partner and my former OB, Dr. Justin Thompson, and he blew off the concern stating that this is just how Dr. Powar is. I left their practice at 6 weeks postpartum and found a new OB. This review is heavily overdue. But if I can help change the mind of one expectant family so they don't endure the pain my family and I went through, then this is worth it. Expectant parents: don't be afraid to advocate for yourself. And don't forget that a big part of the oath of medicine is compassion and patient care. In our most terrifying moments, we all deserve compassion.
Jags delivered both of my children. Thirty years later, my daughter is pregnant and I wish she could find an MD who is as excellent as he is.
Did not feel he was warm compassionate, was very cold . Does not care about his patients, in it for the money. Treated my family with very little respect.
Dr.Powar delivered my second baby and I am pleased with the whole experience before and after delivery. He is both caring and professional. He was there for me during delivery that made me feel more confident. The front stuff is very professional, understanding, thoughtful and friendly.Thank you, Dr. Powar for taking me through this journey and helping me to deliver our baby girl!
Fantastic doctor with a great wealth of experience to deal with any complications. Excellent staff, very professional and considerate.
Dr Powar is a very capable and knowledgeable physician. He respects your time, so you won't find yourself waiting 60 minutes after your appointed time slot, wondering what's going on. His explanations are simple, concise and he has a friendly, professional bedside manner. His support staff are well trained and very competent. My wife said her examinations were very comfortable compared to other OBGYN's. We had a complication (placenta previa) that posed a small risk to the pregnancy. Dr Powar explained the risks clearly and that everything would typically progress normally, but that he would be monitoring it closely to prevent this complication becoming a major problem. Fortunately, everything turned out fine. My wife decided to use his services again despite us having moved out of the immediate Stanford area, because the other candidates she interviewed did give her the same confidence as she felt when talking to Dr Powar. Overall one of the best OBGYN's in the Bay Area- excellent.
Dr. Powar and his team are incredible. He delivered two of my babies (his clinic delivered all three) and provided the best care before and during delivery. He truly cares about his patients, and provides practical advice. He is direct and to the point, which I appreciate. If I ever had additional questions or concerns though, Dr. Powar would make sure he answered anything that was on my mind. During delivery, he is calm, and in control the entire time - even during difficult deliveries. I am so grateful that he was our doctor - and I have three healthy babies because of him and his staff. Dr. Powar's staff is also top notch. Victoria and Sonia are always very kind. Sabrina is excellent and positive. Justine (my primary Nurse) was incredibly calm and consistently went above and beyond to help her patients. She was always helpful with any questions that I had (responding with detailed answers immediately). She would move her schedule around to help me when I needed to come in to see her each week. She supported me through challenging issues with insurance, and she had an excellent rapport with all of the other nurses and with Doctor Powar.
Terrible, has VERY low standards of patient care. Okay at office visits but horrible during delivery, especially if a medical problem occurs. Recommend you look elsewhere.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
