List of MIriam Schultz's Reviews
I have mixed feelings about this doctor. I saw her for about two years once I moved back to CA on referral from my former GP. My interactions with her in person and over email were drastically different. In person, she was friendly and seemed interested in my life. When the frequency of my visits decreased, she acted like I was her long lost friend or relative. Corresponding with Dr. Schultz via email was another story. I asked for a refill for one of my meds and she seemed put out by my request until I explained that the canister EXPLICITLY said "refills require authorization." To her credit, once she realized this, she complied with the request. On another occasion, I had a panic attack during a session with my therapist and when I emailed her, she told me to go talk to my therapist. While my therapist talked me through the panic attack, I felt that notifying my psychiatrist was important as perhaps my medication needed to be adjusted. Also, she was pushy about my staying on one of my meds that was causing me to gain weight and said that med was helping me (no it wasn't, and if it was, why would I want to go off it?). Once I moved to Fremont, I switched as I didn't want to commute to Berkeley for a doctor that provided mediocre care. I wouldn't go as far as to say avoid at all costs. She just wasn't the right fit for me personally. I've been happier with my psychiatrist at Community Psychiatry who is responsive both in AND out of office hours, isn't a pill pusher, and takes insurance (a huge plus though not necessarily a dealbreaker as most psychiatrists and therapists I've seen don't).On a final note: while Dr. Schultz does both medication management and therapy, I have only seen her for medication management so I cannot speak to her abilities as a therapist. At the time I was seeing her, her therapy availability was limited but this may change overtime.
I began seeing Dr. Schultz following a postpartum depression crisis, and she was enormously helpful and was available immediately and as needed. She has provided ongoing guidance and worked well with my other care providers. I strongly recommend her for anyone seeking assistance for psychiatric issues likely influenced by hormonal changes - she is expert in this area, and balances her knowledge with a warm and kind approach.
Dr. Schultz is great! She's intelligent but also treats her patients as intelligent by listening and asking smart questions. She isn't pushy with medication and has been extremely supportive of my wanting to gradually go off one of my meds. Even though I only see her for medication management as I have a therapist, I feel that she spends a lot of time with me and doesn't rush me. If needed, I would feel comfortable seeing her for therapy. Also, she's on time, which is a big plus. Highly recommend!
She just finished her residency and I can't wait for her to go into private practice. She is perceptive, caring and extremely proffessional. A wonderful doctor.
She is intelligent, easy going and very perceptive. Has a real rapport with her patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
