William S. Sastry, Md's Online Review Report Card

This person is very bad. Without any official diagnosis, I was given off label medication and it totally ruined my life for the past five years now I'm still not getting adequate help afterwards and a lot of people end up trying to help this person with their professional reputation and I end up getting screwed over after they made a huge mistake.

Dr. Sastry is the best, and I feel lucky to have him as my Dr.! Having suffered from depression for decades, I've seen my fair share of a few, and he is by far the most intuitive, kind, knowledgeable psychiatrist anyone could hope for. I've recommended him in the past and would do so without hesitation in the future.

Dr. Sastry is down-to-earth and extremely caring. He is not only an excellent psychiatrist but cares about what is going on in your personal life and how that may or may not be affecting your mental health. I always felt that Dr. Sastry had my best interest at heart and always listened to me and took my health and concerns very seriously. I saw 3 other psychiatrists in the Palo Alto area before Dr. Sastry, and none were particularly concerned about whether or not my mental health was improving. The moment I met with Dr. Sastry, he committed himself to helping me get my life back on track. My life was in shambles as a result of mental illness, but I was able to regain health, life, and normalcy after working with Dr. Sastry. Sometimes I wonder if Dr. Sastry single-handedly save my life. I highly, highly recommend.

Out of all the mental health professionals I have seen over the years, Dr. Sastry was _by far_ the warmest and easiest to talk to. As far as medication management, he had a very empowering and pragmatic attitude. I have met several psychiatrists who thought they knew after five minutes what was "wrong" with me, how to "fix" it, and it was either their way or no way. Not Dr. Sastry. He took his time to get to know me and hear my concerns, checked in with me if his perceptions of me matched my own perceptions, explained his recommendations to me, and gave me a real choice whether to accept or decline his suggestions. He never "pushed" medication on me and when something didn't work, he was quick to suggest other alternatives. He was always supportive of the decisions I made, even if they did not always line up with his recommendations. I stopped seeing him when I changed insurance providers and he was no longer in-network, but he will always have a special place in my heart!
