List of Yuka Yamaguchi's Reviews
She performed TURP surgery on me in late 2019. Both she and her staff were very caring. If I were still living nearby, I would definitely be seeing her.
This review is being written in praise of Dr. Yuka Yamaguchi, a urology surgeon in the PAMF system. Last year I realized that it was time for a TURP surgery for an enlarged prostate. I asked my primary care doctor for a recommendation, met with that urologist, and scheduled that surgery for last July. Apparently, I was amongst the 2% of men who have this procedure and then develops a stricture. I returned to that same urologist who scheduled me for a follow-up procedure last September. It only took 2 weeks for me to realize that the second surgery still left me blocked. This led to weeks of discomfort since I was traveling at the time. When I returned from my travels I sought a 2nd opinion from an old school urologist in the PAMF system who told me that I needed still another procedure followed by a lifetime of self-catherization. He told me that it was not as bad as it sounded, but I said, "No thanks!"I left that appointment feeling very discouraged about the quality of life that I was facing. Next, I returned to the original urologist to referred me to Dr. Yamaguchi for urethroplasty. I met with her soon after for her to evaluate my situation. She agreed that urethroplasty was a good option for me. Having had 2 failed surgery I proceeded with trepidation even though I knew that full recovery could take more than a couple of months and that I would not be riding a bicycle for 6 months.I can now say that thanks to the amazing skills of Dr. Yamaguchi I have thoroughly solved my stricture problem. I have not had this flow rate since I was in my 30s. While there was some discomfort following this procedure, it has been worth every bit the sacrifice that I endured. It has been my experience with other medical experts that often such skills are accompanied by difficult personalities. That is not at all the case with Dr. Yamaguchi. She has amazing customer compassion and a very caring style. I am very thankful that there is a doctor like Yamaguchi who is so capable of performing the more difficult urology surgeries and am so glad she is right here in Silicon Valley.
Dr Yamaguchi is my super hero in 2021! Her knowledge, expertise and personal care is extraordinary and earned her my vote for #1 urologist in the Bay Area. At a time, where ER care, primary care physician and urology specialists fell short in coordinating and remedying a health issue, she offered clarity and analytical and personalized care never experienced before. Within less than a month, she resolved my urinary retention issue and exceeded the initial goal. Her personal care from the first visit to pre and post surgery was exemplary. Her office staff and hospital staff deserve accolades as well and underpin Dr. Yamaguchi's leadership and dedication to excellence. She is an A-player who wants to overachieve and do her best for the well-being of her patients - every day. I want to express my deepest gratitude for the magical care Dr Yamaguchi offered me. She is a 5 star urologist! It is a privilege to team up with her. Absolutely priceless.
I will not be seeing Dr. Yamaguchi in the future. She discounted my medical concerns with a ‘complete workup has been done’ attitude. Too quick to dismiss.
I will not go back to Dr. Yamaguchi. She discredited my concerns and overall wasn’t of any value for my diagnosis.
Maybe it was an off day, but not generally very warm or engaging. I just wanted to be done and get out of there without an exam.
