Just had surgery with Dr. Uquillas. Just five days ago, he diagnosed Leone with a cartilage tear by reviewing the MRI and performing his history and examination. If we had waited any longer, this would likely lead to permanent cartilage damage, requiring removal, and early arthritis in his knee. Thanks to Dr. Uquillas, we went straight to surgery and the assessment was spot-on with a 1-inch cartilage tear. Pictures of the lesion before and after were night and day, and all under an hour. The expertise of Dr. Uquillas aside, the team of nurses at their outpatient surgery center was excellent. Each of them were more caring than the next and Leone had the most pleasant surgery experience. Let's not forget Dr. Yamazaki, our anesthesiologist also, who came out of retirement to help the center out. The clinical care from folks calling on the phone to in-person touches was excellent. We probably got treatment tantamount to what professional athletes get and we are most grateful!

I had an appt for a knee injury with this dr. He never physically touched my knee or leg to examine the status of the knee. On top of that , he gave me a knee wrap brace that i did not even need or wore because the condition of a knee that this knee brace was for i did not even have.

Follow up referral Information for my Physiotherapy was delayed for 2 months. Assistants or the doctor won’t respond even after several messages.

A person like Dr.Uquillas deserves more then a 5 star rating. Thank you for giving my son his life back. Thank you to God for creating people like you who truly help others heal physically, as well as mentally. Dr.Uquillas performed surgery on my sons arm who was physically assaulted by an adult and the results where beyond my sons expectations. My son swore he was never going to leave his room again. Friendly demeanor, encouragement, and reassurance that his arm healed, and he can continue to go out and be a kid was what made him take that first step to leave his room, and hang out with friends again. Dr Uquillas operated on my daughter’s O D (osteochondritis dissecans) of her knee and she had amazing results. He is acvery well trained and very skilled pediatric orthopedic surgeon. He is also ethical, compassionate and accessible throughout her care.

Dr. Uquillas told my husband that his knee issue was due to "bone on bone". He gave him a cortisone shot and said knee replacement was next. Checking into stem cell therapy, the new Xrays showed the knee is NOT bone on bone. Even the report from Dr. Uquillas (gotten from Kerlan-Jobe medical records) stated the knee issue is not nearly as severe as he told us. Why would he tell us the knee is bone on bone when it really isn't? And his report states that it isn't. I liked Dr. Uquillas, but found his bone on bone assessment both inaccurate and disturbing. Stem cell therapy will be the answer for us. Dr. Uquillas was very dismissive of it I am very grateful we were encouraged to check it out. The knee brace that Dr. Uquillas suggested is cumbersome and not used. I'm sure he's a wonderful doctor in many ways, but his diagnoses to us verbally (very different from his written report) scared us and was very misleading. I'm very glad we didn't jump into knee replacement surgery.

He operated on my daughter to repair her ACL . Amazing surgeon excellent bedside manner . Made her and us feel so comfortable. His assistant Mark is great too

Dr. Uquillas is a kind and compassionate doctor. He is very knowledgeable and was very patient with my children. He is the best sports doctor in the west side and is bilingual.
