Edward Mena's Online Review Report Card

Avoid this office. Although the doctor may be great, their front office staff have made my experience the past few years absolutely terrible. I have never been able to get my medication refilled in time, when I try to contact the staff to get the medication situation cleared out they have been extremely unprofessional and have even yelled at me. They do not care about the well being of their patients. I truly cannot express how much stress this office has caused me, I am trying my best to switch to a different provider.

I went to Dr. Mena because I am having pain in my abdomen and liver. I had Hepatitis C in 2002 and was treated successfully but I have been worried that maybe it came back because the pain is so bad. He never met me before. He looked me up and down and said, “Are you diabetic?” I was kind of surprised but I said no. He then gives me this smile and says, “Are you sure?” as if I’m lying! What?! Dr. Mena and his PA are good doctors. PA Iman is a kindhearted person that really cares for her patients. **** this review is for the office staff *** Is frustrating trying to get a hold of someone because they never answer the phone. And when they do pick up they are so rude. Trying to get a referral or appointments is a nightmare. One occasion I got tired of them not answering I went in person to ask for it. And I live far from Pasadena just for them to give me at the wrong location. What a waste of time! Good doctors awful staff.

This was one of the worst Dr. Visit I have in a couple of years. Waited to see the NP. Well one hour later I walk out, I think the staff was very unprofessional. Most of the clients were asked for their referral and medical history. Which they didn't have. I know when they confirmed my appointment, I had to ask them What am I seeing Dr. for? At that point I was advised that I would need blood work and the liver ultrasound. (I'm glad I asked) I plan to ask my referring dr. for another Dr. to see. And I had to pay for parking. What A mess. I'm sorry, no Dr. is worth waiting 45 min to see. How disrespectful to us. I'm just as important as the Dr. & NP. Thank goodness there are other Doctors.

Dr. Mena is very nice, but why can his receptionist answer the freaking phone? They never call you back even if you leave them messages. This is unacceptable as their service is not given to patients for free. I hate to say this, but I'm glad they got rid of a woman who worked the front desk she was very rude and had no customer service skills. However, there are like 4 or five people running the front, but phone call are not important to them! ANSWER THE PHONE

Went back to see if new staff is better. Not really, they all need customer service classes. They literally argue with patients. I told records were sent , i even had them listen to nurse saying she sent them to menas office. ( they ultimately found it) why the high rating? The physician assistant was 10 tines better than the last one. She actually read my file and records when they found them. Mena us in high demand , better get to know his Pa or find someone else. I knew him 3 offices ago, with his success you'd think he would spend moe $ on his office staff.
