Gad Heilweil's Online Review Report Card

Possibly my worst experience with a doctor in my life. Scheduled a return visit for a new machine they were getting after the a violation and he wanted to see more. When I got there I was told it hadn't arrived yet but doctor still wants to dialate my eyes anyway. When I said I'm not happy about getting dialated for no reason if the machine wasn't there he arrogantly told me I'm welcome to go to any other UCLA office. He's rude and clearly wants to bill as much as possible

Dr Heilweil has been treating me for the last few years for "wet AMD "with amazing results. As much as I hate getting injections in my eye, I love the clinic and stuff, as they are always happy and friendly.

Horrible bed side manner. Dismissive and doesn't explain things well.

Dr Heilweil saved my eye from permanent Blindness. I had a retinal detachment, called the office, He agreed to see me that same day and scheduled my surgery the very next morning. My vision in now back to normal, and I have Dr Gad Heilweil and his team to thank. I wish there were more Doctors like him.

This man should not ever practice! He’s rude he didn’t do a full exam he was more concerned about talking with his friends in the office and their Israel trip then taking the time to do an efficient exam for my daughter! This is not the last review this man will get if I could give zero stars I would

Dr Gad Heilweil messed up my 93 year old mother's eye. Instead of injecting into the vein, he injected outside of the vein. My mom's eye has been bleeding and she has lost lots of blood. Plus, they didn't even bother to let her doctor at the rehab (where she lives ) know about the incident. They just said it was nothing and her eye will burn for 2 weeks, without giving any instruction on how to take care of a bleeding eye. They didnt give her any medication or prescription either. I am so upset and angry at this doctor for his poor performance and at his lack of responsibility for recognizing his mistake.

Dr Heilweil helps me through a very worrisome time with a small macula hole plus vitreous fluid moving causing flashing lights. He was steadfast, kind, and just stayed the facts and options though willing to wait and be patient. My macula hole healed itself after weekly monitoring for five weeks. Honestly, my last two appts I was ready to leave but then I thought about Dr. Heilweil’s upbeat attitude and professional, knowledgeable commitment to me. He was amazing and I appreciate him!

I have known Dr. Heilwell for about 6 years, have frequent visit, I found him during all these years to be very smart in what he does, and his diagnoses have alway been perfect.He care, he is kind and gentle, he treat you like a member of family. I am very pleased that I have known him.
