Excellent Dr., and staff!!!
Great experience - he answered all my questions, responded to me when I called and showed me a lot of respect as a patient.
Appointment began on time. Staff was friendly and efficient. Dr. Tang patiently took time to explain the situation and my options.
Very good service
Dr. Tang quickly identified my issue and addressed it with a cortisone shot and physical therapy! Wonderful experience!
Always professional and curious.
Dr Tang did my knee replacement, and the follow up has been amazing. All my concerns and questions are always taken seriously and answered, glad to be a patient of his. I highly recommend him!!
Dr Tang is a great listener, very knowledgeable and confident in explaining treatment. Plan.
Very professional and personable. Very good staff.
I have been seeing Dr. Tang for 14 years and he has always taken the best care of me. He was the surgeon for both my knee replacements and did an excellent job. I would not trust my knees to anyone else.
Great listener and treated my tennis elbow!
Had a follow-up appointment scheduled via telehealth. Received no instructions on how to do this. When I called the office, they told me that telehealth appointments are taken in-between other patients and that the doctor will call me when he is available. Excuse me?!
I felt like Dr. Tang wasn't listening to my needs. I felt dismissed and rushed after 5 minutes of speaking to Dr. Tang. I obviously wasn't his top priority. Dr.Tang ran out after recommending Cortisone injection. While Dr. Tang assited 3 other consultations. I waited for him to return to administer my injection.Customer service is not great at Huntington Orthopedics. I spent about 2 hours total patiently waiting.
George was great. Very knowledgeable and informative. I highly recommend him
Dr. Tang was great! However, the place seemed a bit chaotic, and there also seemed to be a problem with each dept. accessing the patient portal information.
Dr Tang did surgery on me for a torn meniscus mid year 2018 for an injury in January 2018 on a previously reconstructed knee. It’s not his fault that it took so long to get approvals, but the delays were extensive and his front office wasn’t helpful. Tang himself wasn’t communicative. He was pretty much said, you have a tear, do you want surgery or not. I was a bit concerned about the lack of communication but my regular doctor assured me that surgeons were that way and Tang had a good reputation. I went forward with him doing surgery, even though my past surgical experience told me he was less communicative than most. I can’t say if he was good or not. I lived through surgery and was moving a few days after. After surgery I never saw him again. He has his PAs do all follow up appts. Several months after surgery I was still in quite a bit of pain and convinced the PA to get another MRI. It turned out my knee had a complete tear of the meniscus which was bulging out of my knee joint. I was immediately scheduled for surgery even though I never saw Tang. I only saw the PA. I tried to see him in my pre op appt and failed. I wanted a new doctor who would see me before I consented to surgery. But I was left with a decision by my HMO to go with Tang or wait for another month and then get a referral for a 2nd opinion and restart the process again with a new doctor. Anthem HMO does not allow you to see a 2nd specialist of the same specialty in the same month. So I had to wait a whole month to be able to get another referral from my primary care physician and then try to schedule an appt when a new dr was available. I estimated it would add 2 or 3 months to my wait to fix my knee. I had already gone through a year of agony and just couldn’t handle the pain anymore. So I went forward with Tang for a second surgery even though I resented his lack of care. To be fair, he fixed my knee on the second attempt. But he didn’t bother to talk to me before surgery, during post op, nor on any follow up visits. As soon as his assistant removed my stitches, I was done. I never returned. In the end, Tang didn’t check my knee himself and relied on his PA who I know missed issues with my knee that prolonged the time I was in pain. One odd nugget that I did notice was that Tang sometimes talked with people and other times did not. I know this because they keep their exam room doors open and I listened to dr speak to other patients. One time I heard an amicable doctor talking to a patient and tried to find out who it was so I could transfer. I was shocked when I realized it was Tang. I have no idea what triggers Tang to be friendly but he’s certainly a Jekyll and Hyde type and if he doesn’t like you ...you’ll get single word sentences when dealing with him. I changed insurances so i have options in the future. I’m never going to be forced to use Tang again as I expect future ortho issues.
MULTIPLE STAFF MEMBERS OF THIS OFFICE WERE NOT WEARING MASKS. I felt like I was losing my mind. In the time I saw Dr. Tang, I saw 2 staff members remove their masks and one refuse to wear one altogether. Mind you, this office is located in a HOSPITAL. Dr. Tang has absolutely no bedside manner and spoke down to me after I told him I have been in pain for close to a year. He told me to take Aleve 3 times a day for a month to see if it improved. Do not waste your time going to this office.
I am in tear seeing my mother get treated this way. I took her to an appointment with Dr.George Tang 3 times, he has never came to meet her, but sent a new PA to act on his behalf, she diagnosed my mother as if she’s a physician, telling her how she has arthritis on both knees according to the X-ray such and such and she needs knee replacement as a permanent solution. I don’t have much knowledge about PA but I believe these diagnoses should come from the doctor, when asked about the doctor, she said he has another patient every time. I asked if he’s not going to see her? The PA said he doesn’t do a shot. I said we don’t even know if a shot is the solution, we just want to meet and talk to him. I have never experienced such a treatment. My mother is a newly kidney transplant patient, and experience many symptoms after her big operation and now major swelling on her knee. My concern is to have the injection that effects her kidney function, I strongly believe the doctor would need to see the patient and PA world under him. I had to make judgement call and was ok to have the PA gave her a painkiller shot because she was in so much pain. I also get a quote for PRP from the PA which said $550, I planned to pay out of pocket if she doesn’t get better, but then today she said it’s $1,200 and we asked why quote $550 last time, she said she was new and she was estimating. We didn’t know she was new, so what she diagnosed can be trusted? Never return to this place and let a nice facility fool you. Dr.George Tang should be ashamed of himself.
I really like Dr. Tang. Not only is he great at explaining the issue, he provides options to treatment and has a great bedside manner as well
I LEFT WITHOUT EVEN SEEING THE DR BECAUSE I DIDN'T FEEL SAFE IN THE WAITING ROOM. I had a 2:30 appointment today and arrived to find a waiting room filled with over 20 people. Everyone was masked, but the seating wasn't properly distanced. Some seats were marked with X, but some of the available seats were closer than 6'. The receptionists seemed overwhelmed. I filled out my intake forms on an iPad (my last 2 doctors had me fill out forms online before arriving in the office). Waited for 40 minutes then the receptionist gave me someone else's ID and insurance card. When I asked if I could wait outside (because, COVID) and if they could call me when they were ready I was told that was not possible. This office needs to reevaluate its COVID safety protocols immediately.
