Horrible irresponsible practice! if you're an elderly person please stay away from this doctor, he will not listen to your concerns and pains during your visit. He ignored my grandma's post op follow up which later grew into infection and damaged her eye corneal and vision forever!

Dr. Davidson was very kind. However, he misdiagnosed me. This was several years ago and I'm just now writing the review after telling friends a story about what happened. They couldn't believe it. I was pregnant and getting repeated eye infections. Dr. Davidson was convinced that I had a stone in my tear duct and needed surgery to create a new path for my tears to drain. This meant he would make a new hole and pathway by cutting through my nose bone. Major face surgery for being pregnant. I was in so much pain, I didn't care, I would do whatever he told me. I asked what the chances were for me to recover without the surgery and he said "less than 1%". After a round of antibiotics, however, my eye was very much improved. Then he said there would be a 10% chance I wouldn't need surgery. Long story short, I just had eye infections, not a stone in my eye. I did not need surgery and the infections went away after I delivered my son. I'm so thankful I didn't have surgery. It seems that the analogy applies: to a carpenter, everything is a nail. There is a lot of financial benefit in him doing that surgery, so I have to wonder. All the visits and driving all over the city to meet him at his ever changing locations were very costly and time-consuming.

I had done a Blepho eye lid and Direct brow lift, feb,2015/ Subsequently, it failed, and again need Brows lifted! ALSO this is MEDICARE Covered, per 3 Occuplastic Surgeons!!!THE BROW LIFT -revision- again is a totally covered procedure! Being covered, and with a secondary ins, then no cost to me- as MEDICARE Covered!!!ENTER Dr Joseph Davidson, a occuplastic Surgeon! After a substandard peripheral vision check, and I have had many, usually is a machne one looks into and hits a button when a light enters that can be scene/ this is done with eye lids taped up for full vision and normal! What was used was not a computerized test, a manual sheet, with a wand passed down, and the mat had areas marked off , for scoring! Once the assistant stated I had loss of upper etc vision due to eye lids over pupils, and with pictures showing this, also/ then no problem for CMS full coverage for BROW lift correction! Usually all doctors I havr seen use surgery centers, not office rooms set up with minimal requirements! So, down side is, no pre-op physical needed, use local, and if person has emergency heart or other problem, theen 911 would have to be called, thus a substandard risk, as stuff happens when cutting about nerves etc, and pain! Dr Davidde, I understand is very good at Brow Lifts! AS I was told, and he reiterated, this takes years to develop these skills, as experience rules here!DR. Davidson when I first saw him, told me, that I have seen you before, and I recalled then he had a office on N Lake near 210 freeway! In 2001 I had a lid blepho done of upper lids- , and was fully CMS Medicare paid for!I saw previous to this Dr Davidson then, wanted serious money, for doing this procedure, what kind of ethical thing is this? - when Medicare would pay for it! Dr Warren Stout when I saw him also wanted serious money, he also is a very good occuplastic surgeon! I had the Bleepo done, in 2001, and medicare fully paid for it in total! So when I say him,yesterday/ even though I failed a visual field test, and obvious other medical problems of my brows, which 3 Occuplastic Surgeons stated- this revision would be fully MEDICARE covered as is Medically Required!!! Davidson- wanted to charge me $1500 ( a $500 discount also) for right eye brow lift, and then the forms it appeared for left eye- he was calling this in a check box- a cosmetic or such, thus CMS would reject, and then his contract of financial responsibility kicks in, for a payment of $2000. ALSO is built in attorney fees, collection fees, interest, litigation costs etall! So here again is a guy, who wants to charge serious money for a CMS covered revision! I have had 3 Occuplastic Surgeons tell me, this is Medicare covered! ALSO, I have diabetes, heart problems, and hypertension, etc! He waants to do this in his office surgery centwr, in Pasadena office, the following Monday, and I would need to put that day $1500 dollars by cash, check, or credit card! I explained at age 72, i had Social Secrit only income! I pay $200 a month for a secondary insurance to pay 20% of deductible! And just why he wanted this kinda money for a Medicare approved surgery?***************************point of info: most cases, insurance does not cover eyelid surgery. Removal of simple excess skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids is considered "cosmetic" in most cases, where the goal is primarily improvement of appearance.In select cases, where the upper eyelid skin hangs so far over the upper eyelid lash margin that this extra "hood" of skin actually blocks the peripheral vision, upper eyelid surgery should be a covered benefit of your insurance plan. In these cases, the upper eyelid surgery is performed for functional improvement, and therefore is "reconstructive" and not cosmetic in nature. It is important that your surgeon properly documents the medical necessity of the planned procedure with your insurance carrier before the procedure is done. Most commonly, this involves sending you to an optometrist or ophthalmologist to have computerized visual field testing, which documents the degree to which your hanging upper eyelids obscure the peripheral vision. The test is then repeated with your excess upper eyelid skin temporarily taped up in a higher (non-obstructing) position to show the improvement of your peripheral vision that should be expected following blepharoplasty for the upper eyelids.Drooping of the brow and forehead may also contribute to the visual field obstruction, and your plastic surgeon should evaluate whether brow lift (in addition to, or in place of, upper blepharoplasty) is the proper treatment option for you.Although most insurance carriers will make every effort to deny benefits even for legitimate functional surgery such as this, proper documentation and diagnostic studies will tip the balance in your favor, and your insurance carrier should cover at least a portion of the cost of the operation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Friday, Dr. D did a dacryocystorhinostomy or DCR (tear drain) surgery on my eye. He is so nice and very competent. He helped develop an advanced new endoscopic technique to repair your tear drain and is one of the very few surgeons in the world who has mastered it. Others still use the old technique whereby they make an incision in your nose which allows easy access to the area of the tear drain, but leaves a permanent visible scar and can cause complications. The tear ducts in both of my eyes are blocked, so in a few months I will have the other one done. The actual surgery is done at the Third Street Surgical Center in DTLA. If you live in the South Bay, Dr. D sees patients for consults at East West Eye Institute (Torrance and Gardena) certain days of the month.

Dr. Joseph Davidson, is very nice and takes the time to talk to his patients. He's a caring guy and very organized. Highly Recommend!
