After years spent unsuccessfully with other eye specialists and being told there wasn’t a problem, I was beyond frustrated. I knew there was a problem and I knew exactly what it was. My eye was red, swollen and tearing constantly. I needed a doctor to just listen. Finally, in walks Dr Karlin. He’s very professional, highly skilled, personable, funny and most important he listens to what the patient has to say. He worked alongside me to get to the root of the issue and CURED me. Dr, Karlin fixed a miserable condition I had suffered with for three plus years. I cannot thank him enough. I highly recommend him , he exceeds all expectations. He will be my forever eye doctor. I actually enjoy seeing him and there not many doctors I can say that about.

Went in for a very painful eye infection I got from a waterpark. Dude was super chill. He had actually spent alot of time at waterparks as a kid and figured out how I caught it.

I absolutely love this man! I'm 67 years old and wish I was younger! I was transferred from Lynchburg to UVA when I met this gentleman in the emergency room. He stayed with me until I had my surgery and held my hand! He made me feel so safe and was my hero! I've had several follow-ups and I've grown to love him even more! One of the most wonderful people I've ever met and one hell of a doctor! He is the best of the best!

Dr. Karlin was extremely caring, professional, personable and attentive. Described options and procedures in plain English. Very respectful of senior doctor and medical intern. Spoke up with observations and suggestions. Exceptional bedside manner and sense of humor under stressful situations. Brilliant but with a desire to learn more.

I had a terrible and very painful eye injury. And I was a very difficult patient. Dr. Karlin had the patience and bedside manner of a Saint. I will be referring to him and use his services indefinitely. He's definitely above and beyond most doctors. He was very helpful for me.
