A few years ago, I noticed one of my eyelids starting to droop, but didn't think much of this until that eye started feeling like it had sand in it, to a point where I could barely keep it open because the scratchy sensation was so uncomfortable. In doing a little research, I found out the eyelid droop could be causing the irritation and a blepharoplasty might help the situation. I made an appointment to see Dr. Burnstine for a consult. Right away he put me at ease with his knowledge about the skin around our eyes as we get older and how he could address my issue. He also made a point to say if I was looking for a dramatic cosmetic result from the procedure, then he'd recommend me to a friend in Beverly Hills, which I appreciated because my intent was to keep my natural look as much as possible. The surgery itself was easy and relatively painless, except for the needles used to numb the surgical area. Dr. Burnstine explained all the post-op care, stressed the importance of icing for the first 48 hours, and sent me home with detailed instructions to follow over the next week. I can't stress how much icing the surgical area and following the directions exactly as written can make all the difference in a recovery. My eyes healed incredibly fast and I had no issues or side effects, other than some magenta-colored bruising on my lids, which most people thought was make-up. It also helped to have a doctor as considerate and careful as Dr. Burnstine guiding me through the entire process. I just had my final follow-up with him and am amazed by the difference his small adjustments to my eyelids and one brow have made to my appearance, in addition to completely eliminating the scratchy sand feeling in the one eye. It's so nice to have both eyes open again!

Incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Burnstine. I had a in office procedure to correct past unsuccessful surgeries which was corrected in under an hour!! The only thing I regret was not finding him sooner! Super friendly and professional Doctor and staff that goes above and beyond for you. I had skin cancer removed from my lower left eyelid. I was very scared of the entire process. Dr. Leavitt, my dermatologist recommended Dr. Burnstine to perform the cosmetic surgery following the Mohs procedure. From the initial consult to the surgery to the 2 follow ups thus far; the staff is wonderful. Dr. Burnstine is not only the BEST doctor ever, he has a personality and his compassion for his patients constantly shines through. The rest of the staff (Taleen, Karen, Angela and Donavan and Dr. Conger) are very personable, available and answered all my random questions. They all made me comfortable in a very fearful situation. I have been to both the Pasadena office and the Santa Clarita/Valencia office. I knew I was in the best hands for a procedure that was scary. 2 weeks after the surgery I know I picked the right team and they did a GREAT job. I am healing and feel my eye will return to normal in a few more weeks.

I've consulted with several ophthalmologists/oculoplastic surgeons and Dr. Burnstein is by far the most thorough, detailed and academic in his approach! He conducted tests to make sure nothing around the surgical site will be negatively impacted. His skills and sense of aesthetics is nothing short of a true expert. I only wish I had found him earlier!

I contemplated having upper and lower blepharoplasty for many years, but never pulled the trigger as I was conflicted about choosing a doctor. I knew that I did not want a surgeon who was going to make me look unlike myself. It was important for me to choose a highly skilled Oculoplastic Surgeon. Upon meeting Dr. Burnstine he told me, "If you want something over-the-top, I can refer you to a colleague in Beverly Hills". I knew with that statement that I picked the right surgeon who would only refresh my eyes, not reshape my eyes. Later during the consultation, he pointed out that I also had a condition called ptosis (basically a drooping eyelid) in one eye. This was something I had noticed in photos throughout my life, but somehow had just accepted this slight difference. I also chose to correct this condition with the blepharoplasty. Dr. Burnstine has an incredibly caring bedside manner. He is a kind straightshooter and strives only for perfection for the best possible result. I highly recommend Dr. Burnstine and trust his surgical abilities.

After going through several bouts of tear duct clogging, and consistent tearing, I was referred to Dr. Burnstine.He scheduled me for outpatient surgery, immediately, and his staff was delightful to work with in assisting with pre-op.I am genuinely amazed about the professionalism and aftercare.that I received. I had a few important events planned, as well as an upcoming trip and the office was amazingly helpful in helping me meet my schedule. All staff members are very informative and extremely friendly. Dr. Burnstine has an amazing sense of humor and is able to remember conversations with his patients - he really listens. In this time of deteriorating bedside manner, I do not hesitate to recommend Dr. Burnstine - he is extremely pleasant and elegant!

For those of you out there in "Yelp Land" that are on the fence about getting your eyes "done" (upper/lower blepharoplasty) this is your doctor! Not only is he the best oculofacial plastic surgeon in So Cal, he also has an amazing staff that will take care of you. Dr. Burnstine has given me back my confidence and I no longer fear looking in the mirror. I have had both and upper and lower blepharoplasty and most recently a revision and it was the best decision I have ever made. My friends and family are always asking me how is it possible that i look so well rested all the time . I tell them go to Eyesthetica! Go see Dr Burnstine.
