Old Town Psychiatric Service's Online Review Report Card

This practice is extremely rigid - oddly, it's cash or check only, limited video visits (payment must be received up front and I had online visits sometimes denied all together during what the receptionist described as some sort of audit). Billing has been chaotic, with refunds needed. Dr B is nice, professional, but the lack of office flexibility is off-putting and out of keeping with most professional medical offices of this type I have experienced. Visits are 15 mins or less, about $260 for medication management. Very pill focused. I would chose an online only provider for the same service, with more flexibility, and avoid the hassle.

I had a strange feeling that something was sketchy when I called to make my first appointment with Dr. B and he had immediate and plentiful openings. He probably loses half of his patients based on the strange doctor/receptionist marriage/folie a deux between him and his gatekeeper Janet. While it's his responsibility in the end, since he keeps her on staff, It's the duck-billed receptionist about whom I have issue. She is not only rude and caustic -- I've caught her in a few "mistruths" over the last several months. Her only remedy to being caught in a lie is to double down and lie some more. When these disparities are brought to the attention of Dr. B, he simply refuses to consider there is anything amiss and "fires" his patients with a standard, boiler-plate termination letter. The effect is chilling especially for the vulnerable who seek mental health care. It's ironic that someone with an obvious personality disorder works for a psychiatrist, where kindness and empathy should be prerequisites for a job. Quack! to her -- don't subject yourself to this mind-warp, and best find a more professional provider with a professional, humane staff.

Dr. B and his office staff are in some sort of money laundering scheme. First they stop taking my insurance, ok I'll pay for my service out of pocket, then they ask for CASH-ONLY and cannot ever seem to produce a receipt. The visit was $180.00 and if I needed a note for my job that was another $180.00 all cash with NO RECEIPT! ! Once I started becoming adamant about a receipt Dr. B explains he can no longer help me and refers me to another psychiatrist who has never heard of him. I was left with no receipts and no way to prove I had paid cash out of pocket for months of services. Beware !

1 star is not low enough. They only accept cash (no cards) and don’t take insurance. I was a patient for over a year and can honestly say the maximum appointment time with Dr. Lai was 10 minutes. Very unprofessional. Dr. Lai was not helpful as a doctor, but she is very good at making money.

I have been seeing Dr. Clarence Leung for about 8 months now and he has really helped my depression and anxiety. He's a great listener and provides many helpful suggestions to help me raise my daughters the right way. Highly recommend.

Rating this specifically because I can't let this place have 2 stars on Google. The nature of psychiatric appointments is always going to be quick and leave people feeling underattended to. However, I happen to find Dr. Biebuyck pleasant, kind and genuinely invested in helping me find the right medication. He is open to my feedback on how different side effects are impacting me and we have worked together to find the best fit for me. He is definitely not in the business of pushing specific drugs, and I am very happy he is my psychiatrist!

Based on my experiences of having had sessions by different psychologists and psychiatrists during different periods of my life (childhood, college & post-college). This office in particular is the type of place where you'll feel rushed and leave the office feeling no different than when you initially came in. I had my initial session with Dr Biebuyck then more sessions with Dr. Clarence Leung and it always felt as if I was talking to a wall. Don't expect sympathy to your personal internal struggles here. To everyone that's currently in treatment and feel this place is working for you, all power to you, keep doing what works for you. On the other hand, I would not recommend this place if you're new and in the process of searching for a place to get psychiatric services. Ive been to other places that will give you more value for your money than you will get here. This place is cash-only and I've received sloppy handwritten receipts that are not traceable to the service I received. The only reason this review earned a 2-star rating was because Janice, the receptionist, was extremely accommodating and polite.

I strongly disagree with the bad reviews Dr. Biebuyck is a wonderful, caring, and very understanding Dr. especially when it relates to certain financial situations. They are a little outdated but to me what matters is that I am getting the best possible advice and care along with prescriptions. I have seen quite a few other's that don't compare to the level of proffessionalism. Janet is very sweet, polite and knows what she's doing. They accept checks also not just cash I always pay with checks I don't see the big deal if you are getting the right and best care/ help for your problems. I highly recommend Dr. Biebuyck

Janet, the receptionist, is their saving grace. She is very polite and very helpful. Dr. Biebuyck was consistently curt and very eager to rush through the appointment without taking the time to truly address concerns.
