Not all good . Had a change . What a bumper . Can't get anything right from his assistant and staff
Im so pleased with Dr Ackerson and his amazing assistant David. Doctor Ackerson has such a young heart he made me forget about my severe back pain for a brief moment when he walked into the room, he's very knowledgeable, experienced and funny. David is always so attentive with all my paperwork, and the needs that come about, everything he does with my case becomes a priority, and even though their very busy they always have time to smile. I love themJennifer Avila
Dr Ackerson and his team are very professional. He made us feel very welcomed and put a smile on my daughters face. I recommend if you every need a Orthopedists to go and see him.
My first encounter with Dr. Ackerson was over twenty years ago when my knees were severely injured in a truck accident. I consulted him for a second opinion after the workers comp doctor recommended surgery, and Dr. Ackerson concurred. Because of the severity of the knee injuries I need to see an orthopedist regularly, and Dr. Ackerson will be my first choice should I require knee replacement surgery. He has and his colleagues have also treated me for back and neck injuries that I suffered later and took the time to help me put together a comprehensive treatment program including physical therapy to keep me going. Together with his assistant David, Dr. Ackerson is my "go-to" doctor for orthopedic needs.
I first saw Dr. Ackerson in 1987 when I fell and broke a bone in my left foot. I went back to see him about 8 months later because I was having severe pain in my low back. He said he didn't think the issue was the low back, but rather my left hip. He had my low back and hips x-rayed in his office and came back to tell me that it was definitely my left hip. He was very concerned, particularly since I was only 39 at the time...He replaced my left hip and did a revision on it in 1995 and I still have that same hip and it is doing great...I love his sense of humor and his capabilities as a doctor. He is expert in the field of orthopedics. I no longer see him as my doctor because I now live over 3 hours north of Pasadena, otherwise I would still be his patient. I noticed some people commented that they didn't care for his sense of humor or "bedside" manner...You don't go to a doctor to be your best buddy. You go to one because they are competent in their field and Tom Ackerson is extremely competent.
I am a lifeguard who works where Dr. Ackerson swims every day. This man has nothing but a big heart. Everyone knows of his kindness, he gives attention to everyone from the custodians inside the locker room to which he gives his most expensive tennis shoes, to our 95 year old Holocaust surviver that he meets every time he visits the pool and greats her with a sweet and honest concern about her neck pain and her busy life. I told him my daughter was in gymnastics and received a leg injury. Immediately he had an appointment set up for her. Granted, it took my daughter a couple visits to his office for progress to show, however he did not stop until she was back to perfection once again! We love Dr. Ackerson!
Dr Ackerson definetly earned the 5 STARS today. My fiancé Walter twisted his ankle playing soccer on Saturday and thought he had only sprained it. We both decided it looked worse than a sprain and went to urgent care where we were given the bad news that it was broken. We were sent to Huntington Orthopedic where we saw Dr. Ackerson and I can tell you that the entire time I was completely stressed out about the situation not knowing how bad the break was and dreading the word "surgery" which didn't take very long to be told that he would need surgery. What I can say is that my experience from beginning to end from the staff to the nurses than the Doctor where extremely professional, helpful, and friendly. Dr Ackerson made the entire experience feel less overwhelming from his humor and attentiveness constantly cracking jokes making light of a terrible situation and offering us cookies to take our minds off of what we will soon be facing. He explained the entire process from beginning to end on what to expect with the surgery before, during and after. We would definitely recommend Dr. Ackerson. Stay tuned for updates once the surgery is completed.
I have been a patient of Dr. Ackerson's for many years starting with a broken ankle that required surgery;. I have found him to be attentive to all my multiple orthopedic injuries There have been times when I have waited for him, but someone in a busy practice that is understandable. if I feel I need more time to discuss issues he has always made time for me. I will continue to see him and recommend him to others.
Dr. Ackerson is a very skilled surgeon. He has done hip replacements on both my hips, and I feel wonderful. He also fixed me up when I fell and broke my leg. I hope he never retires!!!
was very pleased with Dr. Ackerson's treatment of my broken ankle. I had a bad break which required screws to hold the bones in place. The surgery went well and he checked on me every day when I was in the hospital. I felt very confident in Dr. Ackerson and was happy with the results. It has been nearly three years since my surgery and I am now skiing and roller blading which isn't bad for someone 74 years old! I have recommended him to several of my friends and will continue to see him in the future if the need arises
Dr. Ackerson and his staff, especially David and Ron( e-rays) are always cheerful, funny, and helpful. I am a horrible patient, cry-baby, whiner, LOUD...and they got me through my injuries with finesse and good will....oh yes, and I am healed. I love the P.T they sent me to !
I found my care with Dr Ackerson to be exceptional! The office staff is very friendly and Dr Ackerson himself is fun and caring. I will continue to see him for all my orthopedic needs and would happily refer him to anyone of my friends or family.
dr. ackerson is a great surgeon! a few years back i broke my ankle in an accident . he told me i needed surgery to correct the fracture. i didnt want surgery and i explained this to him. he gladly suggested that i get a second opinion and gave me copy of my x rays. i did get the second opinion and that doctor said i did need surgery. dr. ackerson ended up performing my surgery and 5 years later i am 100%! no pain and been back to every normal activity. gotta say his bedside manners are different than most docs, but i don't care, he is a great surgeon! my ankle feels 100%!
very Professional, very helpful. Best of all you don't have to wait for a long time
I had a very positive experience with Dr. Ackerson. He is an honest ,direct and compassionate physician. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking orthopedic needs. His background is flawless as is his reputation in the medical community. I want to thank him for all he has done and for improving my health and life.
I had an excellent experience with Dr. Ackerson..... He answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable about my health needs.... I would recommend this doctor and his friendly staff to anyone..... Thank you....
Dr. Ackerson is a charming, straight forward, no nonsense doctor with a great sense of humor. He gets you in does what needs to be done and gets you out in a timely manner with the help of his assistant/nurse Carla. Glad I was referred to him!
My experience with Dr. Ackerson was excellent. Unlike Lance, I enjoyed his conversation, he was friendly but not overly talkative.. he did send me for tests too, but I expected that. Overall, he was able get me back to walking without pain in my knee... and bottom line, thats what I care about. Easy to get an appointment, lots of follow up and ins billing was taken care of for me.
I recently came to see Dr Acekrson for a fracture in my left foot. He was great. He took the time I needed to explain how this odd fracture occured in the first place. He was to the point, and so knowledgable, but broke it down so i could understand, step by step what would happen next. He pointed out everything on the ex-rays, and made me feel very well taken care of. I enjoy his sense of humor, and was glad he didn't waste my time with uneeded and unwanted talk . Quick, to the point, but willing to answer anything and explain as many times as I needed it to understand.Sent me home with a bone strengthening machine (ultrasound) ...really cool! I had no problem getting an appointment, and once there, practically no wait time at all, the staff was lovely. The ex-ray tech was very kind. Definately would go back, ....highly recommend. This Dr. was great.
I think the doctor spent maybe two whole minutes examining me and then rushed me out the door like he was late for lunch.
