Surgery is scary so you want to feel confident that your doctor is competent.Dr. Bach is thorough, straightforward and good at what he does. You won't spend a lot of time chit chatting with him, if that is your thing, but you are in good hands and it's the final result that matters most.

Dr. Bach does not necessarily have good doctor to patient manners. He scolded me, poo-pooed my efforts to lose weight, and insisted that I have gastric bypass surgery before he repaired my hernia (claiming that I wouldn't be able to lose the required 30+ pounds). I was unwilling to have a permanent solution to a temporary problem, so we parted.

Dr. Bach operated on my wife to remove an appendix. He was very professional and efficient. Before they wheeled her into the operating room, several resident surgeons came up to him and showed him photographs of their patients. He gave them instructions on how to perform the surgery. This gave us a lot of comfort knowing that he was the teacher and telling the other surgeons what to do. Thank goodness we did not have one of the residents working on my wife. Imagine you are about to be operated on and your surgeon has to go and ask for advice on how to perform the procedure while you are listening to all of that. I heard that Dr. Bach was a combat surgeon during the Vietnam War. This also gave me comfort knowing he probably had done some fairly complicated traumatic surgeries under great stress, so he probably could do an appendectomy with his eyes closed.

Dr. Bach is a great surgeon and is very professional in his craft. Some people might not appreciate his communication skills, but rest assured, he knows what he is doing. Without reservation, I would have him operate on any family member. And the best part, if you ask other doctors is they would let him operate on them, they all would say YES!!!

Dr. Bach is the best! He did my surgery to remove my appendix and a hernia too. He is a skilled surgeon and is a true professional. You are in good hands if he treats you. I felt like I had nothing to worry about with him as my surgeon and am absolutely happy with the wonderful quality of care he provided.

I am so lucky Dr. Bach was the on call surgeon at Huntington Hospital for my emergency appendectomy. I am pregnant, and my appendix had ruptured. My case was difficult due to various factors, but he handled the surgery patiently and methodically. On top of that, he had great bedside manner. He made time to see me twice a day during recovery despite having a busy schedule, and never rushed me during our conversations. If you have the choice, I would highly recommend seeing Dr. Bach!

Calm, professional and exceptionally competent. During my stay at Huntington, nearly every nurse voluntarily told me if they had surgery they would ask for Dr. Bach.

Dr Bach is an AMAZING surgeon! If you are ever in the unfortunate situation of needing surgery, you can trust that you will be in very good hands. Not only is he extremely skilled but he has excellent bedside manners. He never pressures you into surgery and does not give off any condescending doctor attitude. He was very thorough, patient and so kind to our entire family during a very stressful time in the hospital. Post-op was surprising very smooth and I believe that is due to his skills. We saw him at Huntington Hospital for the surgery and recovery and then at his private office for our post-op visit. He was again extremely friendly, patient and very prompt for our visit. I have never met a doctor like him... He treats you like a person, not just another patient or hospital bed. You will lucky to have him as your surgeon. I will be forever grateful for the amazing care he gave us. Thank you so much! :-)

Dr. Bach in an amazing doctor! He saved my father's life 2 times. My father came into the ER very close to death, his body temperature was so low that they had to warm him up with water inside his body. It was a long effective surgery. Many doctors at the hospital did not expect him to make it, in fact many were calling it a miracle. I know that God was there and I believe that God worked through Dr. Bach. My father was a doctor as well and mentioned to us how good of a surgeon Dr. Bach was. He visited my father in the hospital as well as in the rehab hospitals. Dr. Bach is not only very talented in his field, he is also a very kind and caring doctor. They don't make doctors like this anymore, but they should. Thank you so much doctor Bach! We are forever grateful!
