List of William Lee Md's Reviews
My summary statement is that Dr. Lee and Staff are Smart, Incurious and NOT wise. It is unclear what symptom would change their conveyor belt mentality I had a Venaseal procedure on 7/9/21 & began a skin reaction on the entire affected leg in the early morning of 7/13/21. The RNP was not interested in an in person evaluation that day and would not refer me to Dr. Lee. On July 16, my prescheduled RNP visit was described as phone or in person, my choice. I was able to get the RNP to look at my leg, say the reaction was very large and refer me to a dermatologist of my choosing. I went to my regular dermatology office, they evaluated, asked questions and wanted to know if I had had an echocardiogram. (The answer of course was no) and told me how to take care of the rash. On Aug 9, 2021 Dr. Lee kept a pre-scheduled post procedure appointment and stated they couldn't know what the cause of the outbreak was, looked at my leg because I showed it... then said "but it looked better now".
This review is for the billing department at USC Verdugo Hills Surgery Clinic and my surgeon was Dr. William M. Lee. Every nightmare that you have heard about Medical Billing is true at this office. Medical Billing offices are the gatekeepers for scheduling procedures so in fact, this represents how Dr. Lee allows for his office to run. The billing lady (Kim) treated me like dirt! As if I was bothering her by being a patient and for her to do her job and follow with my insurance. We had a couple of failed phone conversations and I tried to make sense of what she needs from me from voice-mails and her putting my call to front desk ladies to talk to me instead of answering the phone. I went to their office on May 18th, 2020 for my visit with Anthem PPO insurance with a fully met deductible and out of pocket max. However, they ran my old insurance from 2017, when I was Dr. Perez' patient and Dr. Lee took over Dr. Perez' practice in 2019.
Horrendous Doctor! Worst I have ever had. He treated me for years because of insurance he was our only option. I have a serious autoimmune condition which he could not figure out. I do not fault him for that. He was simply unfamiliar with it. But I had to fight tooth and nail to see a specialist. He had a completely flippant attitude about the condition despite it being completely debilitating. He allowed it to progress to a point that I was using a handicap placard because I could barely walk. I saw him with (sorry so graphic but you should know) my feet bloodied, 3 softball sized oozing sores on my legs and ankles and he prescribed the use of over the counter foot cream after deciding it was athlete's foot (halfway to my knees?). He then played games with my Rx by calling in only one of them forcing me to make repeated trips to his office and hours of wait time to correct the issue. This man is beyond incompetent. I finally was forced to go to the ER because he would not treat it and I had developed a fever (apparently infection set it). They gave me an IV antibiotic and kept me for hours of observation. The poor ER doctor thought I had leprosy and was terrified. Shortly after due to the ER doctor I was able to see an amazing specialist who treated me. After years of suffering I am walking again. I am up to almost a mile. Under Dr. Lee's care I could barely walk around my own home. I was in agony. I blame Dr. Lee for the years I lost due to his complete apathy. He did absolutely NOTHING but collect his paycheck. Do not use this Dr. RUN in any direction if you are sent to him.
I have been a patient of Dr. William A Lee for Ten years. I was a referral from my heart doctor. He treated me for mysterious rash I had on both calves. The rash swelled my calves and feet and itched so bad I literally wanted to cut my valves off. The type of rash was not immediately known but I was prescribed a topical creme and medication to take. The overall treatment was successful. The rash was gone in less than a week, and once it was gone the swelling of my calves and feet went away. he office always treats me with kindness and the DR is kind and knowledgeable when he delivers the diagnosis and treatment. The only reason I did not give a 5 is there were a few occasions in which I called to update my insurance over the phone and the staff did not make correct updates, causing me to have to repeat the process more than once. They are kind people but they need to make better notes on the system so the next person helping me will be better at follow up to my questions. Otherwise I think they are great and I highly recommend this Dr
I needed the post surgery removal of an inferior vena cava filter that was placed in a large vein at the level of my kidneys prior to surgery to prevent blood clots. They had inserted a catheter in my neck. It was pushed through my jugular vein, through my heart and down a large vein to the level of my kidneys without anesthesia. It hurt! I told Dr. Lee to be sure I was anesthetized so that I would not be aware of the removal. He assured me I would receive proper anesthesia. But, that did not happen. They gave me some local anesthesia, but I was aware and awake during the entire process. I learned later that I was given only 1 mg. of midazolam, which is not enough to have any effect. The removal hurt just as much or more than the insertion.
I have been a patient of Dr. Wm. Lee for almost 20 years. He is kind, he listens and always taken time with me when I have an appointment. He is thorough when going over medications and determining the results of what is prescribed. I've never waited more than 5-10 minutes with an appointment. The office is clean and well organized and his Staff is excellent.
Awesome with elderly patients. Very compassionate and explanatory, goes slow to make sure the patient is following and completely understands everything he is saying. Thoroughly goes over all test results and only moves to the next step if the patient is comfortable going forward. Love him!
Great Doctor!!!
Dr. Lee gives the patient all the time they need in the exam room. He is knowledgable and has a very good "bedside" manner with patients. The only problem is the time it takes to get to him by way of this appointment system. The office phone set up is terrible and every call I wait on hold for at least 5 minutes to be greeted by an appointment taker not really interested in your medical issues. Just a little frustrating.
Dr Lee is an excellent physician in every way. Knowledgable, informative and thorough, he takes his time and listens to his patients. I am a cancer survivor and Dr. Lee has been instrumental in addressing my total health profile.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
