For the second time in less than six months I have been scheduled for a procedure in the Imaging department. And for the second time in less than six months I arrived only to find that my appointment had been canceled. Both times I did not receive a phone call ahead of time notifying me of the cancelations. I have taken time off work and driven all the way there and sat and waited only to be told it would have to be rescheduled. The inconvenience is incredibly frustrating, I have lost pay, I have spent money on gas and today drove in very rainy conditions. They now say they can reschedule on a weekend so I can give up one of my days off after having lost FTO days at work.
Idk how this dumb hospital can still be in business and have the worst service. It reminds me of a dumpster. Disgusting and not healthy. Please DO NOT USE THIS hospital. If I would've known that I had to pay $600 for a few pills and a pathetic talk about covid I wouldn't have come. Why do we have to pay for health care when their service is the worst. They aren't friendly nor do they care about you. They'll treat you like trash and give you the worst care. I truly hope they run out of business.
You dont want to stay in this hospital. If you are at the end of the food service line you get cold rubbery food. I have a family member in this hospital. They serve her rotten fruit, cold omelets, cold water for tea, Vegetables that look drowned and wilted on the plate. Meals are late as she is the last room on the floor. When she says something the cafeteria delivery staff don't want to listen. Nursing staff and doctors treat you well.
I've had better service here before but this last time I used the ER in Petaluma I had a terrible experience. Arrived at 4pm and was one of two people in the waiting room but still had wait for 3 hrs in tremendous discomfort. Once called in I was brought into a room where a nurse chastised me for not receiving or wanting my vaccine at the same time generalizing that everyone who doesn't get it is selfish, she continued on by ridiculing me for my belief in god and leaving me agitated and uncomfortable. Then I waited another 3 hours till a Dr was able to see me with their ancient eye instrument's that weren't able to detect anything (abrasions or debris) and so then they tried to flush my eye which also didn't seem to do anything except irritate my eye even more. After speaking with the Dr I realized that they didn't have the right equipment or the personal to assist me any further and ended up leaving in more discomfort then when I got there. Needlees to say I wasted a lot of time and money at this place and they didn't even take care of my injury
HORRIBLE hospital. One of the worst. I took my boyfriend to the ER for really bad pain, and super high fever, and when we went in they made us wait outside for over 4 hours. Completely forgot we were there. I had to go in 3 times to go check when they would help us as the pain was getting unbearable and they kept saying "10 minutes" and just no one would come. You seriously could be dying and they would care less. Never coming to this hospital again. I never wanted to believe people when they say it is the worst.
Just curious if this is one of your nurses? If so it’s a bit disappointing.
PVH hospital is shabby filled with mold from the leaky roof and plumbing, Some people call it "Death Valley Hospital." The beleagured nurses have had to fight for over five years for a decent work contract. Obviously this hospital has not valued its working staff.
Bad Hospital Policies - Bad Administrative Decisions. On Feb 2nd 2021 after a zoom meeting with my primary doctor I went to Petaluma Valley Hospital. My Dr. said she had ordered tests and I needed to be seen in person. Symptoms included rash that started on my fingers, up the back of my hand, on my palm and up the inside of my arm combined with numbing in my fingers, and severe pain up my arm traveling over my shoulder to my underarm then towards my back and ending near my spine. Upon arriving I was told they did not receive the order so I walked over to the ER because the pain was debilitating. After being checked in, my vitals checked, I was seen by a female physician. I informed her I had been to Rohnert Park Urgent care, diagnosed with a pinched nerve without any x-ray, given pain killers and muscle relaxers and told to follow up with my doctor. My doctor ordered tests at PVH but when I arrived at the hospital they had no record of tests ordered so I went to ER because I needed to be seen in person.I explained to the physician I have had a pinched nerve and this was not a pinched nerve, it was something else as the pain was unlike anything I have ever felt. She quickly looked at my arm, dismissed everything I said and told me their job is to stabilize me and I look stable and that I should follow up with my primary care physician. I tried to explain that I needed someone to help figure out what was wrong with me because I was already given medications that were not working. She offered valium and I told her I already had narcotics that were not working on the pain. She reiterated it wasn't her job to help figure out what was wrong and sent me on my way with 5 valium pills I did not need.10 days later I walked back into the ER after a Orthopedic Surgeon sent be back for tests and was seen by another physician (Dr. Loren I believe). Before doing the tests he spent a few minutes listening to me explain the pain - he listened unlike the 1st doctor. He immediately asked if I has any unexplained rashes - I showed him my arm and he immediately said I had Shingles. He explained the issues shingles can cause, told me its advanced and bad because it was not diagnosed earlier. He explained why the pain killers were not working and sent me to a dermatologist to get on the correct medicine. I ended up with severe Postherpetic neuralgia on my radial nerve and have lost the ability to use my arm properly, in addition I am in constant pain and in pain management therapy.OK - that all sucks. Here is the kicker. I received a bill for $2,773.00 for the 10 minute visit to the ER where I was basically told - to bad, so sad, be on your way. I spoke to their billing department to ask why the bill was so high - I was told that is the standard billing for a level 2 visit. I asked what that meant - I was given a prescription. Had I not been given a prescription the bill would have been a few hundred dollars. So I basically paid $2,500 for 5 Vicodin I didn't need and zero care which possibly lead to a sever and debilitating condition. When shingles is caught early there are treatments that can help, it it is not caught the antibiotics dont work.I filed a grievance with the hospital, my argument was that visit should be billed at the lower level because I didn't receive care nor did I need the medicine I was prescribed. I received a letter from Natalie B, Patient Relations Specialist that their decision was - To Bad, So Sad - PAY THE BILL.What should I do next? If you went for an oil change and they forgot to put oil in your car and your car was damaged as a result would you pay the bill for the oil change? That is what they are asking me to do.
I can't believe that st Joseph health is charging 284 dollars for an urgent care visit to take covid test as a result of a reported exposure in which the county was urging the test.
Always treated kindly by the nurses, never rude. Most of the ER doctors are kind and informative, I love having a small, hometown hospital in Petaluma.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
