List of Brian O'carroll's Reviews
This review is for Dr. O'Carroll, himself. Very professional. Explains and takes his time with patients. Friendly and overall good bedside manor. Tries to plan ahead for HMO clients, which, if anyone has experienced the chaos of HMO, you know this is important. He starts off least invasive, which is reassuring that he didn't want to just jump in and cut.
Unfortunately, this review is for the office staff, so, I feel bad, add this is no reflection of actual care received. The problem is, can I get the care or do they all have something better to do. After waiting almost six months to get an authorization through with one appointment already cancelled because he hadn't gone through, I had to reschedule my appointment. My original appointment was in Pismo Beach, however, needing to get back to work ASAP, I agreed to be seen at the first available appointment in Santa Maria. I called in the morning around 10 to confirm my appointment and that it was in Santa Maria, so 1. I wasn't late and have to reschedule. 2. So I didn't inconvenience the doctor with being late and 3. I did but want to drive all of that way to find the appointment was moved back to Pismo. If you can't tell, I am sometime who makes sure I know where I'm going and when. I called 3 times and no one answered and left a message with my name and phone number stating I was on my way there and confirming the office. No response. I then drive to the Pismo Beach office because I wasn't hearing back The person at the front desk informed me the doctor was, iced in Santa Maria. She said she would call the office and key them know I was in the way in case I was a few minutes late. You would think with the message I left and the front office in Pismo calling Santa Maria and then knowing I was about to make a 45 minute round trip, they would have called me if I wasn't on the calendar for the day. Nope. Not the case. I get to the office to be told they had no appointments for me. This wasn't the most pleasant exchange. It was obvious I was irritated. How did she know I was recovering from pneumonia and it took all I had to get there, not to mention the time and gas! Things happen, I get that, but this not calling and allowing me to drive all over is ridiculous. They book over a month or, so you can imagine the feelings and look I had on my face. She made me an appointment for 2 days later, fine. But, she was telling me how they're was no way the doctor could see me because he was on his way to surgery. How was she supposed to know the food delivery guy (not Door Dash but an actual food delivery from a restaurant) who came in in his apron (don't get me started on his aprons have no place out if the kitchen, let alone restaurant unless they are being washed) was going to walk in just at that moment?! Not only that, but that the doctor was going to walk right past me and help the guy with the food? Everyone needs to eat. But, this was food that was likely for the whole office. Holiday party came to mind. There's nothing I cannot stand more than people lying straight to my face. Say, the doctor was just being nice and he was GOING to be leaving. The complete lack of thought and just showing someone to drive all that way and making every effort to do the right thing instead of meeting a simple phone call is inexcusable! Perhaps one office didn't communicate the information of the appointment and that's why it wasn't there. Who knows. BOTH offices were called and had my number and I've day me before I even left Pismo. Someone should have called. I have a feeling I'll be walking around with whatever is painful in my foot for a long time. Thanks. Glad you're working and have your job. It would be nice to get back to mine and but be given the runaround. No one has time for that.
I miss Dr. Brian O'Carroll and is staff, as I had to relocate from Santa Maria California. This Doctor is the best in his field of medicine. My health was improved while years of being treated by Dr. O'Carroll. Thank you Dr. O'Carroll. From Donald Carter, USAF Retired.
Brian has worked on both of my feet, neuroma on my left Plantar fasciitis on my right. He has helped me work on feet that hurt so bad I could hardly walk.
My toe hurt for ever Dr O’Carroll did surgery and my toe is done! No more pain! He went even on to help me see another Doctor for something else!! I would not go anywhere else!!
Nobody better than Dr OC - took my son to him and he really helped him
I highly recommend Dr O’Carroll for all your foot problems!!
A wonderful podiatrist that I would highly recommend. Very knowledgeable and explains things so you can understand them. Very conservative and practical. I have been to a couple of other podiatrist and Dr Carroll was definitely one I would go back to
I really screwed up my foot long boarding broke three toes. My big toe got dislocated and he (ocarroll) put a plate in it and my second third and fourth toes broke and twisted up so he put pins in the second and fourth toes . My third toe healed itself before I had surgery done. My surgery was a very smooth operation everyone in pismo was so nice and caring. I still have some healing to go but overall I highly recommend Dr. O'Carroll for any of your foot and ankle needs. He is nice guy with an awesome staff who will get you in and take good care of you. For my first break and first set of stitches and first surgery I couldn't be more thankful to have it all done by this awesome doc PS I wasn't the best patient when I was getting my stitches removed I was vomiting and shaking and he was a great help to get me relaxed and calm.
my review has NO reflection on this doctor. I actually really liked him. my grade is for his office staff who cost me hours of time and $300 because they cannot get it together. the office has NO follow through at all. you have to call multiple times if you have an auth from your primary care doc, because even if you give them the auth number, they can't seem to find it...took me 2 weeks to get on the schedule. they submitted my claim to insurance incorrectly and cost me $300 I shouldn't pay.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
