I do not feel any better after surgery.
I don't write reviews, I don't read reviews and I would certainly NOT consider writing one if I was asked or coached to do so. However in this case I want to thank a few individual because of a life changing experience that I recently had this past July. My wife works for a large group of orthopedic doctor and surgeon as a therapist. One of her doctors had heard about my extensive past lower back issues and had recommended us to see Dr. Richard Kim who is a neurological surgeon. Dr. Richard Kim was highly recommended by this other orthopedic surgeon so we went to visit his office in late May. At the time Dr. Richard Kim had just came out of a mountain biking accident and he was walking around on crutches. At first I felt that I was in a better shape than him but he assured me that I was the patient and he would do everything that he could to help. Dr. Richard Kim offered my wife and I several remedies with all of their success rate. Dr. Richard Kim suggested many small changes that I would need with-in my daily routine, changes to my diet, exercise and he also made recommendation to my employers to accommodate me in certain ways to help me avoid a surgery. Sadly the employer did NOT. Eventually we moved forward with the planned surgery on July 30th. The surgery process with Dr. Richard Kim and DISC Surgery Center was well coordinated and went super smooth. For planning of the surgery I was told by the coordinator how to prep myself, prep my home, prep my bed and what to expect each day for the next 3 weeks post surgery. I was also trained by the coordinator how to wear the complicated looking back brace before surgery. So far this is what we would like to expect from our health care provider. But the reason I am writing this review is totally different, COMMUNICATIONS...! Who is able to communicate with his/hers doctor, surgeon or health care provider from the comfort of their home by phone call or e-mail? Well, at Dr. Richard Kim's office you will. There is a pleasant young lady who is the coordinator at Dr. Richard Kim's office and she takes pride in her work. Her name is Ms. Amanda Skorniakoff. Ms. Skorniakoff doesn't let her calls go into a voice mail and she responds back to e-mails in full detail before you would think she would. My wife and I must had communicated with Dr. Richard Kim's office well over 20 e-mails post surgery with questions and concerns. Each time we got a respond back in full detail from Ms. Amanda Skorniakoff who ran our concerns by Dr. Richard Kim each time. Thank you for not dragging us into the office for a formal office visit each and every time. We certainly appreciate and wished that this would be the future of our health care system and to reduce overall cost to the patient. Maz & Nazanin 949-878-8044 Mustbeeasy@gmail.com 11-1-2019
Went to see Dr. Kim. Was very brief with me. Spent a total of 5 mins max and said a total of 10 words. When I left I asked the front office what is the next step for me and they will contact me. 2 months later nothing. Left 2 messages and never heard back. Meanwhile I paid my $60 co-pay and they billed my insurance. Waited 1 month for this appt and complete waste of time.
Dr. Kim is amazing! When I had severe pain going down my left leg, I knew something wasn't right. I contacted my neurologist whom ordered a MRI. I was called immediately to contact a surgeon. I did not hesitate to contact Dr. Kim whom did my neck surgery six years prior with great results. When I brought in my MRI, he shared with me that I had had apiece of my disc break off and go into a nerve, in another disc area. Surgery was a must because I couldn't even lift my leg. Within a week of my decision to do it and cancel my Christmas party of 26 people, I went forward. After surgery, my pain was immediately gone! I couldn't believe it. Amanda at the center was also incredible in explaining what to expect. I highly recommend the DISC Center for spinal injuries. Thank you all for your expertise to the max!

Dr. Kim and his team were amazing! From the first consult to the surgery and post op recovery, everything went according to plan! It has now been 5 weeks since my surgery and I could not be happier with my recovery. My pain is gone and the numbness in my right leg is gone! Thank you very much! Gary Kelley

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
