List of Premjit Chahal's Reviews
Dr. Chahal is the worst doctor I have ever seen. He was rude, uninterested and overall, invalidating of incredibly sensitive issues regarding my health. He seemed inconvenienced by my symptoms and quickly became dismissive. My appointment lasted no longer than 5 minutes and I left his office feeling terrible. I would not recommend his services to anyone.
I recently had a procedure and was nervous. Dr Chahal came by before the procedure and kindly explained what will happen and eased my anxiousness. He‘s a good listener and has excellent follow through on what he says he is going to do. Dr Chahal and his outstanding team are all about providing patients their best care and quick response on questions. I highly recommend Dr Chahal (Gastroenterology). He has been my doctor for 4 years and has really improved my health.
I've had very few gastrointestinal doctors but Doctor Chahal was the kindest one to me. I told him about my other experiences with other GI experts and I could tell he was truly concerned and he even said he didn't like the way the other GI doctors have treated me. I never trusted him enough to follow through with a colonoscopy procedure though. If I had to recommend any gastrointestinal doctor, this would be the one.
This doctor is the most arrogant, disinterested, doctor I have ever encountered in my life. Zero bedside manner. Zero communication. Zero follow up. Multiple billing issues. He actually told me he didn't want to hear about my past symptoms. Then to top it off he will schedule unnecessary procedures and right before you go under he will ask you to be a part of his 'study'. After spending THOUSANDS of dollars, having multiple procedures and being prescribed over 7 different VERY expensive antibiotics, my experience left me feeling like a sick lab rat. Save your time and money. Go somewhere else.
Dr. Chahal is great !!! I am 54 years old and have seen Dr. Chahal for procedures and follow-ups numerous times over the last nine years before in private practice and with his private practice. He listens, concerned, ask the right question, provides a diagnosis but not a full diagnosis until he completes tests. He has an awesome attitude and awesome specialist bedside manners, and he is very accommodating and I will tell you why later. I saw Dr. Chahal approximately nine years ago. I was having abdominal issues at 44yrs old. I thought I was Lactose Intolerant. Dr. Chahal immediately ordered a lactose test, sugar test, and Flora or Gut bacteria test. After my results came back I was very pleased with identifying test results, I was not lactose intolerant or sugar. I had too much bad bacteria growth in the gut according to the tests. These issues I have had for over 10 years and every time any MILK products whether Italian restaurant or cereal....I was running to the bathroom within 15 minutes......horrible. I had an overgrowth of bad bacteria and not enough good bacteria, the cause was due to Antibiotics (every year I would get a respiratory infection, but prescribing physicians never told me to take PROBIOTICS during and after the antibiotic, they never told me the Flora issues I would have and where Antibiotics kill Good and Bad bacteria then you get an overgrowth of more bad bacteria resulting in what seems like Lactose intolerance just because of Dairy). Dr. Chahal followed up by ordering Capsule Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, and Endoscopy. The Capsule Endoscopy where you swallow a pill that is a camera taking pictures every second of your digestive system. I was first denied by my insurance. Dr. Chahal went to argue the need with a Peer to Peer with my insurance and was able to get approved. At the end, I consumed Probiotics the kind in the refrigerated section in health food stores from 50 or 100 billion counts. The non-refridgerated stuff does not work. Now I always take Probiotics to start with any Antibiotics and after for approximately 30 days. Because Dr. Chahal identified my abdominal issues I never had an issue again with dairy products. Approximately five years ago I followed up due to age with Dr. Chahal and a colonoscopy was ordered. At the time the San Ramon, CA surgery center was only available for my dates. Well, I depended only on Google Maps, bad mistake. Google Maps took by to backside of Costco. Very frustrating where Google Maps not taking me to the surgery center location. Up and down the street, could not find....horrible. I called the surgery center, now I am like 10 minutes before my scheduled procedures. I asked for directions telling them the issue, Dr. Chahal gets on the phone and states he has to be at the hospital, but he will wait for me. I arrive exactly at the scheduled procedure time (You are supposed to be there I believe 45min before for prep, IV, etc). Dr, Chahal DID NOT cancel me and still see me when he was suppose to be at the hospital. Today, 05/12/2021 I have a procedure at a different surgery center with Dr. Chahal. I know I am in good hands with Dr. Chahal, and if there are any issues Dr. Chahal will find the issues and treat them. Trust me, I am very picky about all my physicians this includes specialists. I pick based on first, attitude, two, listens, three, a plan to treat, four, new medical knowledge and treatment. I cannot stand physicians that are arrogant, think they are better and I do not know as the patient, they only follow AMA and resistant to new medicine stuck in their paradigm of medicine from 30 years ago. I have a PPO medical plan so I can choose my providers and dismiss the ones where I know we will not work out as a physician/patient relationship. Dr, Chahal is also down earth, he is human, talks about real day-to-day happenings, etc. Most physicians do not do this nor do they have an interest they just want you in and out like a
Regarding Dr. Premjit Chahal, MD and Diablo Digestive Care in Pleasant Hill, CA: Shut his office down! Would write zero stars if I could. A 'nice guy', supposedly, who is an over billing creep, and uses a sub standard surgical center for his work.Have spent untold hours dealing with insurance claim issues with this doctor. This doctor and his team billed $10,614 for a medical procedure that my insurance company said was billable in my area at $1848. And his office REFUSES to release medical test results, in direct violation of HIPAA.Stay away from this doctor at all costs. Or otherwise plan to spend the next months in a beyond stressful experience of insurance company and doctor office bullshi*, including getting bills from his office after your insurance company clearly says you, the patient, owe nothing to this doctor. And all the while will getting substandard but $$$$ billed so called medical care.
Horrible doctor, which I should have known when he spent my first appt telling me about all his problems at his previous office. He bounces around, which should tell you something. He crushed by uvula during a very routing process. When I complained about what he did and how excruciating it was he banned me from the office. He’s pathetic, and shouldn’t be practicing.
He is not a good communicator and seems to resent questions. Videoconferencing was painful as he gave short answers and was very obviously trying to hurry through the call as quickly as possible. He prescribed medicine for me based on incomplete information (my new GI guy was appalled), and became annoyed with me when I asked for alternatives. His staff however is lovely.
Zero stars! Regarding Dr. Premjit Chahal, MD and Diablo Digestive Care in Pleasant Hill, CA: Shut his office down! A 'nice guy', supposedly, who is an over billing creep, and uses a sub standard surgical center for his work. The center still used paper medical files, nothing electronic, (which is against the law!) and refused to provide voluminous paperwork to us prior to the day of the medical procedure. Spent untold hours over months dealing with insurance claim issues with this doctor. This doctor and his team billed $10,614 for a medical procedure that my insurance company said was billable in my area at $1848. For months he continued to send us bills after our insurance had paid him in full, which he was required to accept as payment in full. I finally had to send him a Cease and Desist Order to get him to stop his fraudulent billing to us. And his office REFUSED to release medical test results, in direct violation of HIPAA. Stay away from this doctor at all costs.
Could be more pleased with him as my gastrointestinal doctor.
