Sent lab to out of network lab without consulting patient first, beware of shady practice and doctor.

4 days after treating me for kidney stones I had to go into the hospital due to an infection in my blood with ESBL E-coli. It’s could only have happened during the procedure. Dr Hickerson would not accept any responsibility and didn’t even check on me after for 3 days after his staff knew I was in the hospital. If you value your life, find a different doctor.

Excellent caring physician. I had two urology surgical procedures performed by Dr. Hickerson, both successful with minimal side effects and recovery time. Dr. Hickerson's academic and residency medical background is first class. His experience is also top notch. I trust his professional judgment without reservation. I highly recomend him.

First off Dr hickerson is my hero and saved my life. i was told by two different doctors my surgery couldn't happen. i had stage two kidney cancer. i was suppose to lose my kidney. Dr hickerson spent over 15 hrs in surgery saving my life. he saved the kidney and im now cancer free for 8 years going on 9. so dont listen to any reviews that are bad. they just didn't like what the doctor told him which is the truth. Dr hickerson you are the reason im still here and i owe you the world and will never be able to repay you for saving my life. you will always be my hero sir. i added a part of your name to my daughter that was born after my surgery to honor you. you will always be a part of my life and from the bottom of my heart thank you for never giving up on me when all the other doctors did. there isn't a better doctor in his field in the state of Californian. not even a competition. Dr. Hickerson has helped me when no other doctor could. For years I was given antibiotics for UTI when I have cystitis which is a completely different problem. He knew the 1st time I saw him and after some tests he was correct. Very thankful for him and most of his staff.

Took my 94-year-old father there on the advice of the doctors after a trip to the ER. Dad has been a patient for 15 months. I can count on one hand the number of times he has seen the doctor and have fingers left over. My dad gets his catheter changed - sometimes as often as every two weeks, sometimes ones a month - yet every time we go in they have to "guess" at the size needed and he has never had the same person twice. We went this morning and apparently this was the worst one yet. The wait time is always ridiculously long. We had a 9:00am appointment on a Monday morning and still had to wait almost an hour. Phone calls are not returned, prescriptions and lab orders are not submitted. At one point, my dad had his catheter removed then they rescheduled his appointment for five days later. The fact that they expect anyone to go five days without emptying their bladder defies common sense. The doctor and all of the people who work there simply do not care about their patients

My husband had prostate surgery and Dr Hickerson was amazing. He is an outstanding surgeon and great doctor. Highly recommend!

Knowledgeable and highly competent urologist and surgeon who has good communication and patient relation skills. Throughout my husband’s surgical procedures he kept me up to date with personal phone calls, and would patiently explain what I needed to know. My husband feels save with Dr. Hickerson and has been his patient for over 10 years. Can’t recommend him and his staff enough.

I was apprehensive at first, Dr Alan Hickerson’s staff has been very helpful and professional. Dr Hickerson assured me every step of the way of each process. Everyone is calm and I appreciate all they do for me. Thank you.
