List of Lillian C Lee's Reviews
Dr Lillian Lee and her staff are absolutely wonderful. They kept me informed and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed and felt very comfortable with the interactions between myself and Dr Lee and her staff. I would highly recommend her.
Dr. Lee was my oftalmologist for a number of years, and although not a warm person she seemed competent enough. Her office has incresingly become very disorganized. On 1/26/202 she performed cataract surgery on one eye at the RB Surgery Center. I had made arrangements with my son to take me there and pick me up when done, as per instructions. As I was being wheeled into the OR with an IV already on my arm, one of the nurses asked if I had made plans to have someone watch me for the next 24 hour. That was news to me. I had to make some frantic phone calls at the last minute and was able to arrange for an overnight stay out of my home. The next day when I went for the post op visit with Dr. Lee, I asked why I wasn't told ahead of time. She insisted that I was and that it was on the written instructions I had received from her staff as well When I got home I reviewed my notes as well as the printed instructions and nowhere was the need for 24 hour surveillance mentioned. Not wishing to antagonize Dr. Lee, I never mentioned this issue again.. Six week later while signing forms and receiving instructions for surgery on the other eye, I asked Dr. Lee's assistant about the need for 24 watch by someone. Surprisingly, she said that that was not ever necessary. I thought it best not to mention it again. although clearly there was a disconnect between Dr. Lee's office and the RB Surgery Ctr. and Dr. Lee and her own staff. During the 4 week post-operative visit, I mentioned that although my eyesight was much improved following the surgeries, as of the past few weeks it had become very blurred. Without first examining me, Dr. Lee lashed out onto me "You have unreasonable expections; you are very, very picky" and "You are "outrageously" picky" - Oh dear! should I have addressed this issue with my gynecologist instead? then, she proceeded to examine my eyes and stated that "there is some hazing on both eyes but worse on the left." Reluctantly she had to admit that there was a medical reason why my vision was blurred. Later, as per information from the Web, instead of from Dr. Lee, I learned that it is not uncommon for this to happen and that there was nothing to worry about. My new oftalmologist has now performed the Yag laser procedure on both eyes. Despite having signed releases, Dr. Lee's office has yet to provide my new doctor with records of my recent cataract surgeries; has only sent much older records.
Negative experience. Dr. Lee is not correctly diagnose my condition and wanted to perform a specific surgical laser procedure that was not needed. Also was demanding that one must follow her instructions to be her patient.
Great ophthalmologist!
I absolutely love this doctor. I have been her patient for a few years now. I was referred to her because she was a Glaucoma specialist and I have narrow angles which is a concern for glaucoma.Shortly after I became her patient, Dr. Lee found small cataracts in both eyes and had been following me on this until just recently when she performed cataract surgery on both eyes (one eye at a time). I see really good now! I found Dr. Lee to be smart (have you seen her posted credentials in patient rooms--Stanford and Harvard--WOW). honest and professional. The cataract surgery was a breeze (I cant believe I'm saying this). It was done at Rancho Bernardo Surgery Center. Thank you Dr. Lee.
Dr Lee incorrectly measured my eyeball length resulting in the wrong intraocular lens being implanted in a routine cataract surgery. Prior to the surgery she told me to expect "a miracle" when in fact I had blurred vision for months. Another ophthalmologist quickly caught her error and made her aware of it. No apology was forthcoming from Dr Lee. By the way, I have experienced 2 retinal detachments in the years since the surgical injury.
Her domination over her clinic staff results in a charged atmosphere of stress and agitation. Dr. Lee’s manner was cold and arrogant, to the point that I felt like normal conversation or questions were discouraged. Regardless, as I continued visits before and after cataract surgery that she performed, I felt as if with every question I had about her practices, I was preparing for battle. At one visit, she slammed the door to the exam room because I dared to use my phone while waiting more than an hour for her. She will order only brand name prescriptions that are not on the military pharmacy formulary, but just happen to be sold by a pharmacy that she recommends. As explained to me by a pharmacy technician in my military pharmacy, doctors who do this are often suspected of getting kickbacks involving pharmaceutical sales. There was no logical explanation as to why thousands of ophthalmologists across the US use generic drugs available on the military formulary, but Dr. Lee’s choice of brand name meds were somehow vastly superior. I canceled my remaining check up with this strange doctor and will never return. Oh, yes - and did I mention that she sells ‘post-op’ kits for $10? A little box with samples of the meds and a tiny bit of paper tape!
My husband just had cataract surgery with Dr. Lillian Lee. She advised us that his prior LASIK surgery might necessitate that he wear reading glasses after the cataract surgery. She spent a lot of time calculating the best lens to implant at surgery. His vision is near perfect now. He says it's like a miracle! The surgery was quick and painless, the pre-op appointment was thorough, and Dr. Lee and her staff are wonderful.
Just called and it was obvious they did not want to see me. Tried to slough me off on an optometrist 1st, then said they don't have any openings for 6 weeks!Ok, I get it, although next time don't waste both of our times, just tell it like it is.
Probably a good surgeon, but very scolding to me, even when she was wrong. My next appt, will be the last. Hurt my feelings.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
