Dr. Neustein is an excellent Urologist! He takes the time to listen to his patients and is happy to answer all of your questions too. It is evident that he has vast experience in the field of Urology. All of his staff are top notch as well. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. If you are in need of a urologist, this is the place to go! My dad and I are very lucky to have found him!
Professional and right on time!
Good doc.
When first looking for a doctor his reviews scared me a bit. Being there isn't many I gave him a try anyways. Yes he has a different personality than some doctors, but I grew to appreciate it. When surgery it's self happened he did an excellent job. Now needing another surgery months later I am only confident with him performing the surgery. He is incredibly knowledgeable and an incredible surgeon. I've since referred my mothernlaw to him because I trust his expertise and approach on things. Would highly recommend him.
Stay away! Do not get a vasectomy from Dr. Neustein! There is too high of a chance it will leave you with chronic pain for years to come (if not for life) and will have permanent negative consequences on your sexual function! That was my experience. Just not worth it! In addition, he demonstrated limited understanding of what is truly involved anatomically (or otherwise) with this procedure and no interest or experience in addressing any issues that could arise during or after the operation.
Very friendly. Listens to you and explains thing that’s understandable. Would definitely use Dr Neustein again

I went to see this Dr and during the visit he performed a prostate exam. When done he threw a box of Kleenex at me and said "here clean yourself up". it was rude and humiliating. I think it was because I was wearing a trump hat. Will never go to him again.
I was admitted through ER for a 11mm kidney stone that was causing blockage accompanied by mind altering nauseous pain. He performed a Procedure called - ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy. It was a great success. His demeanor and bedside manner were comforting as well. Overall, but m so happy to be rid of the stone. Thank you Dr. Neustein! 😇🤗
I have been seeing Dr Neustein for about 6 years, and I hold him in such high regard that I travel from Germany to Poway every six months for my appointments. He and his staff are superb in all respects.
I have been seeing Dr Neustein since 2004. At my last visit, he found my PSA level had jumped to over 9. He didn't panic but rather ordered a new blood test. He said if it is confirmed, we would go on to imaging scans to see if anything bad was growing in there. The new blood test came back in the normal range. We will recheck in a month to confirm.
HORRIBLE.........PAINFUL................Not a good experience at all, In my opinion lazy and not responsive to many follow up visits.....the last one was painful and bloody !
NO REGARDS TO PATIENT CARE
Had to wait 45 min past my appt time for the vasectomy consult. My main concern was a mass on my left "tube", but Dr. Neustein was 90% focused on the vasectomy. He wouldn't give a straight answer when asked about pain level. Now I know why! I was between 4 & 6 on the pain scale during most of the vas but peaked at an 8. Post-op, the staff wanted little to do w/me. They couldn't call in my Rx for pain meds, never called to check on me, and made me feel like a number. Very disappointed.
If I could rate this place 0 Stars I would. Staff is incompetent and rude. Careless and sloppy service. It's dangerous to come here. Very unprofessional. Don't care about patients request. Customer service level - 0. I'm gonna ask my doctor to refer me to some other place. Don't feel like giving them my insurance business.

Was seen by Dr. Nuestein this morning and decided to write a review because I felt some of the previous reviews were misleading. I found Dr. Nuestein honest, pleasant and understanding. The wait was longer than I wished but I have waited longer in other places. I requested information from the front office but never got it and making a phone appointment was next to impossible, kept getting disconnected. Don't know whose fault that was. All in all, Dr. Nuestein made the kind of visit that no one enjoys, less of a challenge and I forgive all the rest.
I saw Dr. Neustein for a condition related to intimate functions. He diagnosed that I did have a condition and informed me there's nothing that could be done. Cut and dried, no suggestions available to even improve it or suggestions on the psychosocial management of this condition. Friends convinced me to get a second opinion thank God. Had I followed his advice, I would have missed the treatment window to improve my condition. It turns out I have several options to improve my lifestyle.
When the VA couldn't get me into a urologist for over 3 months, I was referred to Dr Neustein by Veterans Choice. I got an appointment within 2 weeks. I brought a log of my urine input/output for the previous 2 weeks. His office is dark and on the shabby side. His verbal interactions with me were very limited. He did an ultrasound in the office but didn't say what he found. He acted perturbed that I asked what he saw. He didn't tell me what the next step was or ask about any previous testing done at the VA.I received a call about 2 weeks later saying I needed more tests. I asked if the doctor had reviewed the tests the VA had run. She said what tests? I'd pass on this guy. He has poor patient interaction and you're left guessing as to his treatment plan.
Dr. Neustein operated my dad in 2015. He worked closely with his cardiologist at Palomar Health during the surgery and followed up with my dad on his rounds and stayed connected to the nurses while he was in the ICU. Dr. Neustein and his nurses were very professional. He made sure my dad and I understood the information he gave us. Appointments were easy to schedule but there were long wait times if the appointment was later in the day. The receptionist at the time was not very attentive.
