Great surgeon. Thanks for all you did Dr Tantuwaya.

Dr. Tantuwaya seems to be a perfectly capable surgeon, but be cautious when it comes to their billing practices. We were told (confirmed by the doctor) that they would honor the Kaiser co-pay for a follow-up office appointment after my emergency surgery at Palomar Hospital. Made the appointment as instructed when I was discharged from the hospital. After confirming the co-pay ($50), we were told the morning before our appointment that they wanted $375 for the appointment. It was a 180° switch. Their "policy" (we found out through Kaiser, not from Dr. Tantuwaya's office at any time) was that the co-pay would only be valid if the appointment was within three days of the surgery. We had called and booked the first available appointment - of course, no openings within three days, but the "3-day rule" hadn't even been shared with us anyway.

I would recommend him. He saved my husband's life after a server car accident 8 years ago.

I switched to Dr Tantunewya he is very com passionate on first visit he spent over an hour with me going over my options. I had surgery by another dr that dis not work. I would highly recommend Dr Tantunewya.

I came in early and somehow it take 40 to hour for him to even see me.. people in the front are nice, but come one it's just ridiculous having to wait that long just so you can ask a few questions

In the last six years I have broke my back twice riding motocross. In both cases I was fortunate enough to have Dr. Tantuwaya do both of my surgery's. As far as I am concerned he kept me from being paralyzed or having serious issues walking. His bedside manner was second to none. I was pleased with my experience with Dr. T, I would highly recommend him to anyone. Sincerely, Anthony G

Dr. Tantuwaya far exceeded my expectations. I had a very difficult surgery with several quite severe issues. The Dr. performed the surgery with outstanding skill. The serious pain in my legs was gone as soon as I awoke from anesthesia. Would recommend this surgeon in a heart beat.

I am a patient of Dr. Tantuwaya and have been since July 2013. I suffered a herniated disc in my C6 - C7 and was in horrific pain. I was blessed to be assigned to this doctor for he is by far the best I know of. The first time I set up an appointment I was impressed. His nurse "Shelly" is one of the kindest and most warm hearted people I have ever met and made me feel like a priority. When I found out Dr. Tantuwaya was booked for months I was stressed out to say the least. With in one day Shelly called me and made arrangements to get me into see the doc. I saw him within a week of being authorized and was very happy with the options he gave me. He said you want surgery or try and make this better with shots and PT work? I said "No work, put me under the knife asap" He agreed and with in one month (August 7 2013) I was being put to sleep and fixed. When I went to sleep I was in so much pain, I had not slept well since February and getting out of bed to use the restroom was near impossible. 4 hours after the surgery I awoke to being pain free and had no numbness in my left fingers. It was the closets thing to a miracle I have ever experience. This doctor has a gift like no other. He is compassionate just like his staff and treats you like family. He is super smart and knowledgeable about the spine and made me very comfortable. I am now 5 months after surgery and feel brand new. I recommend this doctor to anyone who has any disc issues and may need surgery. This doctor will keep you comfortable, up to date and will fix you up so you can live a normal productive life.

I was early and was seen somewhat sooner because someone did not show up before me. That was great. Ive been suffering for years and was hoping Dr.Tantuwaya would have some answers for me but like many other doctors before him I got no real answers and rude comments on to what was causing me so much pain. He said many unsettling things to me. He said I should see a psychiatrist and I had to tell him I have been seeing one for depression already. I had to remind him again that I was self admitted to the psychiatrist for depression so there was no need to refer me to one(The pain is so bad it is very depressing).The pain is real and is something that needs prompt medical attention. its been too long to not get help and answers Dr. Tantuwaya. I don't know how long I'm gonna last in this condition. Thanks for wasting my time. if your condition is serious and needs attention asap I would not recommend Dr. Tantuwaya. he gets an overall 2 for nice staff. Hope this helps
