List of Kindred Hospital Rancho's Reviews
I read the reviews other wrote, I disagree with most of them. My husband had a aorta dissection and several strokes on his brain. The awesome care he received in the ICU was loving and professional, Crystal, Pat, Cecilia the nurses in ICU. Respirator teamGeion with wound care and the others all Great . My appreciation to Jackie the Social Worker was my guardian Angel, she and,. Cindy provided me with any information I needed. know I miss some people, but please know your Love one will be taken care of, here at Kindred Rancho.

My brother is there recovery from covid they have just been keeping him drugged in a vegetative state and have not weaned him off his medication and have not been doing daily procedures for him...just do not trust or bring any of your family there for treatment or care
This facility is the worst and last place you would ever want to place your loved ones. In 30 days of placement my loved one contracted Candida Aures which is rampant in this LTAC! The facility understaffing problem has resulted in blatant negligence . My loved one has a bedsore and it required to be repositioned every 2 hours. Even with my daily presence he is never turned timely and it requires several attempts to get staff to come and reposition. They say they'll either get someone or be back. When I am here the 4 designated hours I am lucky if I can get them to turn him once. The delay has been up to an hour. We come at both allowed visitation times or we fear for the care he will not receive. When we arrive 6 hours later it is more often than not to find our loved one in the exact position we left them in. The cleanliness and safety precautions leave a lot to be desired. Respect for privacy is non existent, with staff not even drawing curtains when they are changing diapers or bathing patients. I've witnessed this on more than one occasion. The sanitation procedures are below safety standards and often discarded soiled bed chux are tossed in the bathroom open wastebasket, rather the the covered trash bin place in the room for this purpose. There is an outbreak of Candida Aures and these unsanitary practices are inexcusable . There are 2 to a room where both have the fungal infection and when you enter the room and see discarded surgical gloves on the floor and empty IV bags lying on the nightstand or packaging in other parts of medical products like caps to syringes etc. on floor,it is very disheartening and unacceptable! We are attempting to get our loved one moved and the Case Manager has not been helpful and led me to believe my chances are slim to none & that with the Aures infection no one would accept my loved one. I feel my loved one is being basically being held hostage in a terrible , below safety & health standards facility. There are some staff who actually care and try to help within the scope of their job, but that is no excuse for an individual in critical care and unable to advocate for themselves to be subjected to such grossly poor treatment .
When we got the news that my dad would be transferred here we read the reviews and we were scared for him to come here. He can't move or talk and has a trach. Upon admission new patients families meet with the social worker and patients relations and we addressed our concerns of negligent care and they assured us that it was just because people only write the bad...but that's all there is, IS BAD! I'm an RN and have been for 6 years, I've worked med/surg with no cna's and had a 5 patient load and never have I ever not had time to do hourly rounding and turning my patients every 2 hours. My dad has on several occasions been left in the same position for hours, the visiting hours are 10am-2pm and then 8pm-10pm, why the gap no clue, but we take a picture of how he is when we leave and when we come back we compare. We've brought up this issue several times in the month that he has been there and nothing ever changes. He never receives proper oral care, which with pts with trachs can lead to chest infections such as pneumonia. They have gowns at the doors of the patient rooms to put on but at night the staff hardly ever do it and my dad contracted candida auris there and obviously it's being spread by the staff cuz he can't even move, we tried to get him transferred out of here due to negligence but the case manager told my mom no facility will take him with that fungal infection. The internal medicine dr then told me my dad didn't even test positive for the candida auris so I questioned the nursing staff and all of them have told me he's positive. We've notified staff of other patients being soiled as we can see them when we walk down the halls, only for it to be put off for hours. When I do the day visit there's been times where no staff walks in at all the 4 hours I'm there...my dad can't talk or move to press the call light so if he coded no one would even know. At my hospital we do a minimum of hourly rounding so you figure that would be common. And why that huge gap in the day for "Covid precautions" it makes no sense because it's the same 2 visitors allowed everyday and it's not even CDC guidelines. When my dad first got admitted another patient meds were in his room, so that's a HIPPA violation. The staff leaves patient information out in the open all over the units. Im just so confused how facilities like thisstill operate after all the complaints. It's hard enough to have your loved ones in a condition to be in a place like this but then to have to witness the negligent care is just gut wrenching and heart breaking. I will never understand healthcare workers who treat patients in this manner, leave the health field and do something else
If I could rate it lower trust me I would. My sister fell very ill to the point she was in a coma, once she woke up she had hallucinations, apparently the bacteria she got got to her brain and she just wasn't her at all. She landed her since the hospital she was at was not for long term care. She arrived between Friday night and Saturday early morning. My mom went to see her and she was ok. Sunday came around, our birthday, we went to see her and the decline was major! She was tied to the bed and had a soiled diaper. Monday I got out early from work to go see her and my brother in law was there, this grown as man was crying his eyes out for his wife because he had to change her soiled diaper that she had been wearing since the day she arrived! He said the diaper was hard as a rock and some of her skin was peeling they didn't want to give her water because they said and I quote "she might not know how to swallow it" her lips were so chapped she begged us for water even in her not so much there state she said they hadn't given her water since we saw her the previous morning not even food! This was heartbreaking to me seeing my twin being out through this! They starved her! Thank God, Tuesday she woke up from her state she called me and the Lord knows I fell to my knees crying, we had been told her recovery could take from 6 months to a year and after almost a month of her being since she was finally back! She was more conscious and was Anel to tells us how she was while being there, they didn't help her to the bathroom she would pee and poop herself because the lazy hood for nothing nurses would tell her to wait and take 2-3 hours to help her then we complained to patient relations and the nurses gave her laxatives! But still wouldn't help her to the bathroom! One day they only gave her breakfast and didn't feed her the rest of the day! They always said they were "busy" but out of the times I went I would see and hear them all in the nurses station laughing and listening to music. A few days later a nurse told her the doctor liked her progress and we're going to discharge her she was so happy we all were, when she asked the same nurse what time she was going home the nurse said she wasn't then proceeded to say that no one ever told her that and she was going to stay 3 more weeks, she had already been hospitalized for almost 3 months. The nurses kept telling my sister she would go home that day and when she would ask the nurses would say no one said anything like they were trying to make it seem like she was crazy! She finally had enough of it and demanded to be let go and they did. She is finally home and recovering marvelously true, she has a long way to go but she is better at home where she can use the restroom freely and won't be starved. I have pressed my sister about suing this place! Close this place down! Those stupid nurses took a vow to help those in need when they couldn't help themselves. DONT NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONES FALL INTO THIS PLACE THEY DONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE PEOPLE IN THERE
My husband had a procedure at Kindred Hospital in Rancho, and the people and care he received was excellent. I must say it was above and beyond what he has received from other facilities. I would return to this facilitie when needed. Thank all at Kindred who were compassionate, humble, and kind. Your commitment to your patients is seen in all you do.
