List of Vallari S. Patel's Reviews
I had a great experience with Dr Patel, I thought her manner and disposition was professional but caring and one of concern for hep patients well being. I was very shakes to see one star. Let’s just say when you meet her it might not be under the most present of circumstances but that’s also why she’s there. I think the expectations for some of these individuals might just be set at a levelbthat nobody’s shoes could fill. Let’s stop expecting everyone to behave better&greater than the average human! And if that’s what you expect from someone I’d take a look in the mirror a bit longer before your appointments and think about what your putting out.
I can only describe my experience with Patel as one of a abandonment, of a patient with drug resistant infection. When she can't cure you, she kicks you back to the primary, when she should have continued treatment to keep the patient going. She is burned out, cold, indifferent, and should never be allowed to work with hard cases. A compassionate doctor keeps trying, even though there is a limited number of antibiotic choices, if they relapse then keep treating to keep the patient comfortable. It is disappointing that we have to be exposed to disconnected, indifferent physicians who simply kick the can down to someone else, leaving the patient with uncertainty and fear as they struggle to deal with recurring infections. Infectious disease medicine is like Ice Cream's 21 flavors. The list of antibiotics they have either work or they don't. Not rocket science. And somehow it's the patient's fault when nothing works or works for very long. But that is when she abandons the patient. If the drug works for a month and has to be repeated, it keeps the patient comfortable. I value our doctors because their job is very difficult, so difficult that one commits suicide every single day. In contrast, this doctor has no more commitment and passion for healing than the person who checks you out at the market. Because I have been a health professional for many years, I am savvy as to what makes up a high standard of patient care and she fails miserably. What every patient should know, if they find themselves not getting better, or undergoing infusion after infusion, is to consider phage therapy, the answer to drug resistant antibiotics. phagetherapy.org
Was admitted to Eisenhower after a procedure at Eisenhower that left me with sepsis. Dr. Valerie Patel and her team refuses to listen to me about where the source of my problem was! After two months of ER, hospital stays and care facilities, a Dr Joseph Wilson finally saved my life after removing a huge empyema from my plural cavity. Patel and her grossly incompetent staff were blind to the source of my infection. Horrible!
As with many doctors, she has lost the compassion needed for optimum patient interaction. Like the flavors of candy, there are only so many antibiotics and because of resistance her effectiveness is iffy. She fails to explain difficult situations and sends her nurse out with a message and that is all the patient gets. Distant, cold, and simply burned out. No contact with her after the initial visit. No inquiry as to how you are feeling. It's a mill
Dr. Patel is one of the worst doctors I’ve ever been to. I’ve been to about 30 different doctors in the past 6 years since I went into stage 4 of Hashimoto’s disease. I saw Dr. Patel hoping she would treat the Epstein bar virus that is chronic and keeping me extremely sick. I was diagnosed in 2015 by the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. She wouldn’t even look at my medical record from the Mayo Clinic and compare it with the blood test she ran. She wouldn’t even explain it to me, she just sent me packing and said it is nothing! I have 103 to 105 fever’s on a regular basis with nausea, vomiting, extreme fatigue, swollen lymph nodes, sores in my throat, plus a myriad of other symptoms. If you want to see a good infectious disease doctor go to Dr. Robert Patron at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, he is amazing! For financial reasons I was forced to try someone here and Dr. Patel was a complete waste of time and of what little bit of money I have.
I am a patient from Hawaii, and could not get an infectious disease specialist who would accept new patients. Dr. Patel accepted me as a patient, and she is fantastic! She is knowledgeable, professional and follows through with everything. Because of Dr. Patel's care, both my husband and I have switched from Loma Linda to Eisenhower.
The dr is amazing, his staff in front can't get anything done right from him or other hospitals that call...I have been put on hold 5 times each time 10 minutes and then told they did something when they did not.All we need is records sent from one place to another and yet they haven't done this in 3 months! This is costing my child pain and is putting her in danger.
Very impressed with Dr Patel she took the time to review my medical history and re-evaluate my treatment plan. She eliminated unnecessary drugs and was very easy to work with.
She was professional & friendly & did the appropriate test but never notified me of lab results like she said. I called & was told they were normal. I asked what was the follow up plan because I still had the problem & it wasn't caused by normal circumstances & was told that he would talk with Dr. Patel & call me back. That was 3 weeks ago & I still haven't received a call back. I guess if one test was normal then I must not have a problem! No follow up!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
