Soha Elgharib's Online Review Report Card

Absolutely terrible experience. I asked about sterilization and rather than discussing it with me, she went off on how I would regret it, that most women who get it already have at least one child, and I should wait until I'm in my 40s. She apparently hasn't read her own college's (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) clinical management guidelines regarding sterilization, which state that in a well-informed woman, age and the amount of children she has already had or not had should not be a barrier to sterilization. Her pelvic exam was rough and when I told her it hurt, she simply said that I bled during the swabbing for my Pap smear so it's not surprising. She didn't apologize or do anything to lessen the pain. Afterward she gave me a pad and told me I'd need it. The worst care I have ever received from an ob-gyn. Avoid avoid avoid!

Dr. Elgharib was very quiet and seemed like she was not in her best day, I had to push her to talk to me and immediately felt uncomfortable with her, as she was not present with me, acting robotically. I went there for a pap smear test which hurt a lot. I told her immediately that she hurt me and that I had never experienced that in the past with previous doctors, and she didn't say a word or show any concern. I was in pain for several days and bled like when you have a light period. I did call her to ask if this was normal and of course she said yes without any concerns. I previously had an excellent gynecologist but unfortunately my insurance changed and couldn't keep seeing her anymore and she never hurt me. Even when I had male gynecologists' in the past I would never bleed or be in pain after a pap smear test. Doing a pap smear test its already uncomfortable and embarrassing, I didn't appreciate Dr. Elgharib not being sensitive and careful. Would not recommend her.

Dr. Elgharib was my OB with my third pregnancy and I'm beyond happy with that. I remember I was supposed to see a different OB but that doctor was fully booked that time so my husband looked for a temporary OB that could see me as soon as possible, and we found Dr. elgharib. After talking to Dr. elgharib on my first appointment I told my husband that I didn't wanna switch to a different OB anymore because I was so touched and impressed when she made a commitment that she would personally deliver my baby even if she's not on-call. So I decided to stay with her care even her office is almost an hour away from my place. She is a person with a few words, kinda introverted and quiet which I can relate with, but her care and thoughtfulness were evident. When my delivery day came, she would call me and inform me about the plan of care, even if the nurse already told me about it she would make sure to talk to me directly. When I was fully dilated, she drove all the way to the hospital to be there and I could remember seeing her in a hurry and catching up her breath when she arrived in the delivery room. It means a lot to me and I can't thank her enough for that. The delivery went smooth and easy. She even made sure to visit me during my stay in mother-baby unit. It was a great experience indeed! I am sad I had to switch to a different doctor for my next gyn visits because of the change in my insurance but I am thankful I had a great pregnancy journey :).

Love her. She's the best OBGYNE. I am so cute to have a CS but she was able to make it normal delivery.

I saw her two years ago, and I did not have a good experience. Her behavior was highly unprofessional. She kept asking me questions about my ancestry, and it caught me off guard. I thought she was a gynecologist and not a geneticist. If I wanted to learn about my ancestry, I would have ordered a DNA kit from 23andMe. My ancestry is none of her business. She judged my sexual history based on what she assumed my ethnicity was (she thought that my ethnicity was the same as hers). After she learned about my sexual history, she asked me if I was married. When I told her that I was not married, she gave me a dirty look. I did not feel like I was in a safe space, and I did not feel comfortable telling her about my sexual history. These are heinous things for a medical professional to do. She also kept emphasizing that she is from Egypt, and she was putting down other Arab countries. She talked about two Arab singers named Nancy Ajram and Haifa Wehbe and then she rolled her eyes and said, "Ugh, they're from Lebanon," which was offensive and racist. Do not see her.
