David Bradley Jones's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Jones was the very first and I mean very FIRST doctor who actually listened to me. He was the only doctor who showed empathy and concern for the path that it took for me to get to him. Dr. Jones did not rush through the appointment, like so many others do. I have had many health problems that have required surgery and after the first botched attempt of a partial thyroidectomy...[...] But this time...this time, I felt heard. I felt that Dr. Jones actually cared. I felt that he took the time to discuss what was medically going on. He gave a game plan, that made sense. He made me feel human. The bottom line is this....the manner that Dr. Jones treated me, made me feel like I [...] actually mattered to someone. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a spine surgeon...and I do have faith in his ability to perform my surgery when the time comes.

I has severe back pain for years. Since 1979 I have had at least 5 surgeries and a spinal nerve stimulator inserted. Nothing ever relieved my pain. I moved to Redding in 2019 and got a referral to see Dr. Jones. He was very thorough and recommended spinal surgery (5 fusions needed) because of severe disc herniation and scoliosis. He performed the surgery in 2020 and it was intense recovery. It took over a year for full recovery but for once in my life I’m pain free from nerve pain and back weakness. Dr Jones and his assistant (PA) was right there by my side through out my recovery,

I’ve had back problems for years. I felt better after I woke up from my first surgery(it was a two part/two day deal) than I had in years. The care was great, Dr Jones was on hand to answer any questions I had, and his staff had provided great follow up care

Dr. Jones has always been very professional and caring towards me and all my concerns. This was the second time he did surgery on my back and in my opinion he's the best back surgeon from the Bay area to Oregon.

Office staff is awful Called to see if they received my referral and when I could schedule an appointment to see Dr. Jones. Staff was very rude and said I would receive a phone call when I was accepted. Over 3 months later and have never received a phone call. So thankful for the neurosurgeons office who got me in quickly, my injury was severe and had surgery the same week I saw the neurosurgeon to avoid permanent nerve damage.

I waited 7 years to finally have surgery seeing Dr. Jones and his PA several times as well as five other physicians to consult on my care. From pre op to post op to now three years later I am not the same and have attempted to seek follow up care and been made to feel like it I am making the level 10 pain up, sent in many other directions with a promise to coordinate care and it never happen. Five phone calls back asking for follow up and nothing in return. Seeking a second opinion now has been validating. I did not receive the full surgery I needed from Dr. Jones, I did how we receive poor care, lack of communication, lack of follow up from medicine mistakes on their end that could have been taken care of if they really cared. At this point I would not even consider seeking an opinion from his team and knowing what I know now and the damage done I wish I would never have let them operate on me. Front office is great. Physician team not so much.

Dr. Jones did a neck fusion years ago and as soon as I came out of the effects of the anesthesia in recovery I could tell that the surgery was a success as the tingling and numbness in my right arm was no longer apparent. Around three or four years later I took what seemed at the time as a fairly easy fall from about a twelve to eighteen inch block wall when it collapsed and within twenty-four hours I was in severe pain and almost any movement was impossible to do without help. After the neck surgery I was sure that Dr. Jones was the only surgeon I wanted to see but as is sometimes the case with a doctor who has a good reputation his office staff couldn't get me in for almost six weeks and when I did make it in and saw his P.A. they sent me directly for an MRI and to return to his office. When I did go back, this time it was Dr. Jones himself that saw me and he said as soon as he came in, it's Tuesday today but what do you have planned for Thursday morning? It was that quick on getting me in and the repairs done. I had some problem afterward with for some reason my heels on both legs were unable to reach the floor and walking around on my tip toes wasn't possible because of the pain in my legs. He referred me to an ankle specialist in the practice he was with at that time and that doctor sent me for braces with spacers for both legs from the knee down. That wasn't a final solution either mostly because of a birth defect in my left leg and a previous history of surgery and problems with the Achilles tendon I had a problem with balance and not having any flexibility in either ankle it was painful and difficult to get around. But while in the office of another orthopedic surgeon who had successfully completed a repair on my elbow after an auto accident I asked him what could be done with my ankles. Well the right ankle worked out extremely well but with the prior surgery and problems with the left one it was not as easy and after having to remove eight inches of calcified tendon and trying to find enough to work with, and developing a problem after the first surgery with a large wound that the skin and underlying tissue developed a necrotic problem that took several months of twice a week wound care that negated the ability to put a cast on that leg to limit movement I was basically bedridden for a few months and then the ankle ended up having to be fused limit the pain from movement due to its weakness I have been unable to get around barely at all and have been limited to not being able to get out of the house because of the difficulties in getting around without assistance. But now after two different problems that have me suffering from pain and limited mobility in both shoulders and the left hip and low back on that side I'm going to go back to Dr. Jones again and see what Dr. Dan and he can come up with to ease my pain so I might be able to do some things I want to try again next spring and summer.

Did my husband's revision of a spinal fusion from 25 years prior. It was a bone fusion that broke. Our insurance denied it twice and Dr Jones went over the adjusters head to get it approved. Great guy and great surgeon
