had Posterior Tibialis Tendon Surgery on right foot due to a severed tendon in a silly accident. Dr Nowak did excellent job.

Some people have had a great experience with Dr Nowak, but don't ignore the ones who didn't. He was highly recommended to me. First, he told me that I was allergic to the metal in my ankle and that it needed to come out. I later found out that I was not allergic to that metal and I didn't need the surgery. Shortly sfter surgery, my sutures split open and tissue and muscle were coming out of the open wound. I went to him and he told me don't worry about it he would keep an eye on it.. I now know if you have things coming out of a wound where the sutures split.. ...That is not something you just send away and keep an eye on. I ended up getting necrosis in the wound because he didn't keep an eye on it and act fast enough. His after care is sub par and basically close to non-existent. I guess if you don't have any post surgery complications, then you may be safe with him. Due to the necrosis, I had to go through the most painful experiences of wound care followed by another surgery because the necrosis was getting close to my bone. Due to the 2 surgeries, many nerves were damaged and I now have numb toes and nerve shocks. And I have a huge scar that's about an inch wide. But the pain that I went through for months due to his negligence was the worst. So sometimes he may do well. If all goes well then you won't have to worry but if you need any kind of aftercare......say a lot of prayers. It's your risk but if I didn't say something then nobody would know. I would not wish what I went through and am still going through to anyone

I had foot pain on the ball of my foot. Dr. Nowak told me I needed surgery to correct the problem. After having the surgery and nearly a year of recovery, not only do I still have the pain in the ball of my foot, but a ton of additional pain and numbness. Having him do this surgery is the biggest regret I have ever had. FIND SOMEONE ELSE AND GET A SECOND OPINION!

I met Dr when he interrupted my anesthesiologist the day of my surgery. Follow up was incomplete. I have a severed ligament that is untreated and tendons remain shredded. Seeking another physician.

I was referred to Dr. Nowak with a recommendation of my primary care doctor. I waited months to get in. Once I arrived and in the room a young man informed me I would not be seeing the doctor instead I’d be seeing him the doctors assistant. A X-ray was taken and he returned to the room telling me I needed surgery and what he would be doing? If I wasn’t ok with him doing surgery there was nothing he had to offer me. I was shocked and not aware a assistant could preform surgeries so I asked you are the one that would do the surgery? He said, “yes”. After I talked it over with several medical professionals I decided to not return. It’s a shame the doctor is so busy he can’t see his patients. It’s like me sending a assistant to come in and represent me and my issues and expect him to give a accurate diagnosis.

Dr Nowak is the best but had a Major problem with billing they seem to think they run Shasta Orthopedic I was due a refund and it took 5 weeks and 6 trips up there intell I received it

I just had foot surgery last week and the surgery went excellent!! 2 days after surgery I had almost no pain in the surgery site without even a pain pill. Dr Nowak is amazing at explaining what he was going to do and took the time to explain exactly what he was going to do. One of the best bed side manners of any Dr. I have dealt with. At my appointments leading up to and surgery I saw him before the scheduled time which is unusually for a surgeon. His PA Jenny Olds is top notch as well. If you need a Great foot Dr see Dr Nowak you will not be disappointed.
