List of Loma Linda University Health Care's Reviews
I am still sober after 18 years! Loma Linda and the people there saved my life. ForeverGrateful! Thanks. M.E.
Had been exposed to a tremendous about of trauma during my whole life. Started to be unable to work, talk with anyone, or most importantly provide the support and mindset for my family. Was at a very scary point in my life and knew I needed professional help. I really think that I had a nervous breakdown, however, the staff never mentioned these words. I felt extremely safe there and experienced staff assisted me so much. At first I was very scared about being in an inpatient program. Many of the patients were severe and were struggling with a variety of serious illnesses. Intake was a lengthy procedure, however, I was able to share everything in my life which had brought me there. I felt that this facility was my last chance in solving my issues. I had never gone through the practices which were taken before I entered the facility. Had never been arrested or in jail, but was told that these requirements were very similar. I felt that if they were going to help me, it wasn’t a problem. The drs., nurses and counselors were extremely supportive. I attended every meeting because I wanted to get well. The referrals they gave me at the end of my stay, continued the work to keep me moving forward and staying healthy. Loma Linda helped me regain myself and keep moving me in a healthy direction.
Unless you want to be brainwashed by a cult go right ahead this is the place to go
Five stars is not enough rating to how incredible this Clinic is including all of the staff! Having faced my limit and tolerance to my alcoholism, I decided to admit myself after almost losing my job and I was spiraling out of control. I went in feeling hesitant feeling as though I would be shunned and looked down upon with the severity of my alcoholism. I came to a quick realization that they are there to help people in my situation along with others in all addictions and alcoholism. The detox was one of the craziest experiences I went through in my life. The staff was extremely attentive to my care and my health!!! I cannot say enough about my gratitude to this facility and the program they run. I immediately started the outpatient program of which counselor Vernon had a big part in my recovery! I cannot thank the facility and the staff enough as this truly was and is a life-changing experience and a new start to my life! I highly recommend this program with upmost remarks and respect! Thank you everybody that had a part in my recovery as I am excited to continue living a sober life now. My family is beside themselves with the new husband and father they now have.
Great experience, helpful staff! I needed help, and they came through for me. I highly recommend to anyone seeking help with addiction.
I was very well taken care of. The staff were great and if you get either Joy or Stephanie as your nurse you are truly in good hands. The experirience was great and would definetly recommend this place for people in need of help with recovery
Can't say enough about the outpatient program at Loma Linda BMC! They really help you every step of the way. You have access to a psychiatrist and doctor at least once a week if not more to monitor your progress and adjusting any medications if needed. The outpatient classes are on zoom do to COVID but the therapists are so amazing that it does not matter! They offer zoom sessions on: Step Study, Medical aspects, Nutrition, Addiction Recovery, Relapse Prevention, Coping skills, Mindfulness and much much more! If you are struggling with adjusting at home with family members, they offer family and couples sessions as part of the program. In addition, they have an only women's meeting and men's meeting everyday. Ghazaleh is the main therapist for women's group. She is truly an extraordinary therapist. She really cares and goes the extra mile to make you feel safe and heard. I can tell this is not a job to her, it's a calling. I just completed the program but I am welcome to continue the women's group for free for as long as I want. I am also welcome to aftercare once a week for free. You can't beat that!
All of the staff at the Loma Linda BMC substance recovery program are caring, loving, considerate, and informed about the addiction recovery process. Especially Ghazaleh Shafee. She really made me feel accepted and unashamed to be going through recovery. She listened to my issues and gave me practical help to solve my problems. Not once did I feel judged. Not only was I able to recover from my addiction, but my self esteem and self confidence have really improved. I feel like I can finally start living a productive, stable, and sober life again because I went through the BMC program. I've learned that it's worth the effort to get and stay sober. I'm so grateful to this program for giving me my life back.
My time at the BMC was less than advertised. The communication between intake, nurses, prescribing Doctors (MD & Psych different for weekdays vs. weekends), case managers, counselors and support staff is terrible. They will all tell you one thing that will be completely different from the other and when confronted regarding this will point the finger at everyone else as the root of the problem. From 10am-3pm you are expected to be in groups which are hosted on iPads via zoom. They do not provide enough iPads for all of the patients in the program and although using the same iPads for NA & AA meetings are encouraged us of the iPads after 3pm they are collected and as a patient it becomes increasingly difficult to gain access to the iPads for that purpose. Weekend meetings are optional, but be careful, if you decide you don’t want to paint micro bird houses you could potentially be kicked from the program, as 3 missed groups creates an opportunity to be preemptively discharged from the phase 2 program. Many things such as the prohibited use of electronics i.e phone, laptop or any personal electronic device that can access the internet, which is common for most detox-in patient programs. There is also no smoking outside, or any outside activities any more. Along with no cafeteria access or gym/physical therapy facilities any more. The bathroom is small and the showers desperately need a remodel, along with the plumbing which ranges from blistering heat to borderline freezing temperatures. Upon discharge you may or may not be “allowed” to participate with the zoom meetings, which is at the discretion of the therapist hosting the meeting. The nursing staff has a few diamonds in a whole lot of rough, the “rough” ones will try to either pressure you into taking meds regardless of if you have explicitly denied the desire to take the medication, and then deny you the medications that you either have to or regularly take as passive aggressive punishment. The support staff also has a few winners as well but there are also some that will either flat out ignore you for simple requests such as towels to shower or deny you access to the facilities within appropriate & available hours.Overall, my experience was tolerable, but only due to some of the super stars like Melissa, Other Melissa(Wendy), Stephanie, Kyle and Tiffany. Also due to the connections I made that have allowed me to expand my recovery network. However, I would not recommend this program to anyone.
This place is a stepping stone to recovery. The amount of information and tools I was provided during my treatment will stay with me forever. If you are reading this comment wondering if this is for you, call the number and get information. All of the counselors and staff are incredible. They aren’t here for just a paycheck. They care about recovery. Thank you Frank, Chad, Ruby, Vern, Debbie, Mike, and all the staff, Drs, and people that I met along the way.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
