List of Emilie Cheung's Reviews
Dr Cheung was able to restore the mobility of my elbow so I regained independence and my life back. I am very grateful for her knowledge, kindness, and professionalism. Dr Cheung is a superb physician.
My experience with this incredible surgeon was the best. Dr Cheung, is not only the best, but I found her compassionate, and caring. Dr Cheung, gave me another chance, when I had a shoulder replacement didn’t work. Because of Dr Cheung, she gave me a second surgery, I didn’t know I had a left over bone fragment from my emergency surgery. If you ever need shoulder surgery she’s the best. I’m a RN, 28 years in the Army Nurse Corps. I must also say Erin, her nurse practitioner, excellent as well. A total team.
She did an excellent job reducing my shoulder pain and increasing my range of motion. Dr.Cheung is an amazing doctor who truly cares about her patients, both pre and post surgery.
Great Dr. Easy to talk to. ExplKns everything . Very nice . Also very skilled in complex cases. I couldn't highly recommend her enough. She saved me from loosing my arm. She's absolutely The best
This has been the second shoulder surgery for me from Dr. Cheung. The first was a repair on the right shoulder, it lasted 9 years. Much longer than anticipated. This time it is a replacement. Dr. Cheung is excellent and has always been. She has surrounded herself with caring professionals. Her clinic is well organized. Wait times have never been a problem. Thank you, Wayne D
Dr. Cheung replaced my right shoulder on Oct. 1, 2013. Nine years later I am still extremely pleased with the outcome. I have excellent range of motion (slight loss), very little discomfort, no issues whatsoever with "day to day" activity (e.g. No problem putting luggage in overhead when traveling, etc...). This is a major operation, so do expect some recovery time, but expect a great long term outcome. At least that was my experience. For the most part I was able to resume all physical activity. (I did have to give up rock climbing, but otherwise, no restrictions or limitations.
Dr. Cheung, is a fantastic orthopedic surgeon. She has a wonderful demeanor as very progressive. I have been seeing her for over three years and have felt extremely confident in her diagnosis of my left shoulder and right shoulder. In December 2020 she did an operation and bought mine left shoulder and bicep tendon which relieved a tremendous amount of pain. That was my fifth surgery but 1st with her. Although two years later I have difficulty again in my shoulder she has provided treatment and I am confident that it be awhile before I have to have another surgery
Excellent surgeon. Did a shoulder replacement 14 years ago and it is still pain free. Very friendly and helpful.
My husband and I highly recommend Dr. Emilie Cheung and her staff to anyone with Shoulder problems. We wouldn't go to anyone else. They are excellent at what they do. Thank you!! We appreciate you all!! .
Last December I hurt my right shoulder while doing some volunteer work. I couldn't lift my right hand or use it to lift anything heavy. The pain in my shoulder kept me awake in the nights. After a few months of pain medications and home exercises, things only got worse. So my PCP ordered a MRI to be done. MRI results showed chronic damage to various tendons around the shoulder area as well as a bone spur. I met with Dr. Cheung towards the end of April. She was very thorough with her diagnosis and open in discussing the pros and cons of various treatment options. She made it very easy for me to make the final decision, to go with shoulder surgery at the earliest. I went for second opininion to a sports medicine specialist in Palo Alto. He at first missed part of the diagnosis related to biceps tendon, and later offered to do it arthroscopically. Dr. Cheung stuck to her guns and explained to me why the biceps tendon should not be repaired arthroscopically and needed a separate incision for better healing. I am glad I listened to her and stayed the course. Dr. Cheung performed rotator cuff surgery along with biceps tenodesis, on my right shoulder, in May. Within six weeks the wounds had healed and I was relatively pain free. Now after 4 months, with physio therapy, the range of motion of my right hand is very close to that of my left hand. I hope to regain full strength in my arm by end of the year. I need to give special kudos to Dr. Cheung and the amazing team at Stanford hospital, who operated on me. They were very dedicated, loving, patient and competent. As someone who is very squeamish of needles and blood, I was dreading the surgery. But Dr. Cheung and her team put me at ease and made the whole experience very pleasant. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a shoulder specialist.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
