List of Philip Okafor's Reviews
Not worth the time and the money. We had to move to CA from MN for work.As someone dealing with gastroparesis and intestinal dysmotility for 3+ years, I had great hope for this clinic after we moved to the west coast. However, the experience with this clinic was horrible. I waited for 6+ months to get an appointment. The staff was rude. The treatment they provided was far from what I had received from the Mayo Clinic. The worst part of this experience was that the doctor wasn't listening at all. My partner and I were being interrupted constantly. None of our concerns were addressed. We were not allowed to get a second opinion within the clinic either! We DO NOT recommend this facility. Not worth the time and the money. We had to move to CA from MN for work.As someone dealing with gastroparesis and intestinal dysmotility for 3+ years, I …More
Avoid at all costs.I had so much hope when I got referred here for gastroparesis and intestinal dysmotility. The staff was insulting. The doctors were not attentive. They made me feel like I was wasting their time.
I just had a very bad experience at the Digestive Clinic. I had COVID 3 weeks before my appointment, with a positive test result from Stanford taken on Jan 5th. I went to the clinic on the 26th, exactly 3 weeks after that test, and was refused care. They claimed it was because they require 10 days of isolation, but I kept explaining it had been 21 days from the positive test, and they still would not see me.They cancelled my appointment the day before my visit, and made no attempt to inform me other than one phone call, which I missed. They had so many other options of contact, like email and the MyHealth portal, or even calling more than once. But I had to show up in person, skip a class and my lunch time to find out I would not be seen that day.Double check your appointment right before you show up to this place because they will make changes to it with no regard to your time, and will make up false COVID rules to justify those changes.I made a complaint with their customer care department and they still claimed to be on the right. April told me she would send me their response letter through email, which she did not. They also refused to pay for the gas I wasted by driving there (I live 40 miles away). They justified this by claiming they offered online care, which I could have taken from the parking lot. However, I need a physical examination, which can't be done online. Had an online visit been enough, I would have only seen the doctors at Vaden, but they specifically referred me to this place to get a physical examination by a specialist.I just had a very bad experience at the Digestive Clinic. The Stanford Clinics here aren't just Digestive Health. I saw my orthopedic spine doctor. But I have found Stanford doctors and staff to be top notch.
Horrible experience. Called them a million times to schedule a return visit & remind the doctor to send me a message online; neither happened so far. It was so bad that I felt the need to write my first google review just to give them a one star. Avoid at all costs if possible.
Excellent services. Social distancing maintained.
My father who is 85 years old, with severe hearing impairment and has multiple chronic health problems had an New Pt. in-person GI appointment yesterday for an evaluation of delayed gastric emptying. WE got there 30 min before our appointment and were screened for COVID-19 symptoms before coming into the building, we both have no symptoms at all. I was told I couldn't come in with him due to a new policy of restricting people inside the building. I was advised the the nurse that scheduled our appointment that this was going to happen and she told me to explain the circumstances of why I needed to be present for the appointment and so I did. The screening security guard rudely said 'no and refused to allow me to speak to the front office staff, I insisted that I speak with a care team member as I am the primary caregiver for my father and know his medical history, current medical problems, etc. He went and consulted and came back down with an answer that I still could not come in with my father, I told him that this was wrong as my father wouldn't be able to explain all his medical issues to his new doctor. Long story short, they kept us waiting until 4:30pm and finally allowed me to go with him, this outpatient clinic was totally empty, there was no risk of overcrowding. The customer service here is horrible, there is no empathy or solidarity. The staff are robotized and don't seem to care about providing quality, empathetic care for a good patient experience. We understand that safety during COVID is of utmost importance but let's not forget about treating patients with dignity and respect. My father and I left around 5:45pm, he was exhausted. Nothing but great things to say. If you have complex digestive issues, I cannot recommend them highly enough.
I have been a Stanford Digestive Health patient for well over 6 years. I receive excellent care with every visit and procedure. Sarah Streett is a great doctor. My condition has improved to remission thanks to the Digestive Health department.
Very poor! Avoid at all costs. Layers of bureaucracy to get an appointment, prescription, or speak with a nurse/doctor. Worst clinic ever.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
