List of Clement Chan's Reviews
Would give negative stars if I could. Dr. Lin is great but their back office is incompetent. I can never get referrals approved on time before the next appointment and they do not check ahead of time. Wasted several 4 hour trips to their office because of this. Always get their sincere apologies, but of course they never reimburse for the time or miles. Unfortunately united healthcare does not give us many choices so we are stuck.
Excellent. The wait time was very long, but worth it. Another doc in the area had misdiagnosed me and Dr Chan confirmed my diagnosis immediately. I will return to him and make sure I bring a book for the long wait.
Nice, clean office. The receptionist is nice and welcoming. Equipment is very professionally designed. The techs and specialist are friendly. However, based on observance, the specialist and one of the techs lack patience especially with the elderly patients. It's almost routine that patients have eye dilating and numbing drops to have their eye pressure measured. One of the patients (my mother) had that done and the tech didn't wait not even more than 10 seconds to use the pressure device on her. The tech was asserting herself at my mother telling her to open her eye to stick the device in her eye. Usually, based on experience, you're to wait longer to allow the drops to set it. The tech was also doing everything so abrupt, no feeling, as a robot. NO CARE WHATSOEVER! As far as the specialist (Dr. Abassi) is concerned, my mother has trouble understanding figurative speech and medical lingo. And also, her memory is not very good. So we noticed he lost his patience when in one of my mother's visits he had to explain her prognosis. In conclusion, it's a nice place if you're from a younger generation. If older folks go here, I think it's best to have family accompany them.
In 2010 Dr. Chan diagnosed me with leukemia based on bleeding in my retinas. Another MD had declared me mentally ill rather than look at my complete blood panel. I return to Dr. Chan for retina checks every few years. He teaches my case at Loma Linda University.
I feel Dr. Chan is very thorough and conscientious.
Did surgery on my eye. Damaged my retina in 4 places and lost have of my vision due to his incompetence and negligence. Wait time was always 3-1/2 hours, sime times 5 hours. My insurance company no longer uses him. Rude staff, unclean offices. Never kept me informed and when I asked questions, I was told he would answer later and never did. GO ELSEWHERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR VISION.
I agree the wait times are sometimes long. Dr. Chan takes adequate time to treat emergencies when they arrive, but in my opinion worth the wait. In treating my macular degeneration he has improved my vision from worse than 20/90 to a stabilized better than 20/40. He is one of the best.
All the negative reviews seem accurate with my experience. Wait time generally is 3-1/2 hours but I've waited up to 5 hours. Did surgery and now I've lost half my vision due to his failure to check my eye pressure before or after surgery. His failure also resulted in optic nerve damage and glaucoma which were not a problem before the surgery. He unnecessarily damaged my retina in four areas during surgery. I have four big black areas in my vision now. All of these problems he created are ir

Horrible experience. Dr. Chan forgot to check my eye pressure before surgery and after surgery for awhile. My eye pressure was high because of cataract surgery a month before Told his office I was concerned. I was told Dr. Chan would check my pressure before surgery. He never did. And he did not check it for awhile after surgery. Because of this high pressure I have optic nerve damage and glaucoma. Each appt with Dr. Chan was about 3-1/2 hours. Most of that was waiting in the waiting room. I now have terrible vision in that eye due to Dr. Chan.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
